I don't have any strong feelings on the alien vs human characters debate. Even though I am personally only into the humans/humanoids, I really don't mind the others getting content. And some of them I do like for story reasons (Bradley, Garth, Cicero), so I do want to see more scenes with them in general.

But since there has been a lot of debate about this, I was curious about what the poll results actually looked like, though, and here are all of the winners since last spring, when the monthly character polls first started:

So it looks something like this - 5 strictly human winners, 2 Galiano wins (technically human, but modified and transformed), 3 Chip wins (human-looking android), 4 alien wins. Which does kind of seem skewed, but, imo, it looks worse than it actually is.

Chip wins a bunch for novelty reasons, like his customisation options. Riordan and Snake (first time) were voted for so that they would get character art. Also, I think the reason Galiano won the second time in February was because, looking back, it was the first month he could be voted for again after being excluded from all of the polls since July (I assume for story reasons?). I think that might've had an effect on the results, lol.

I didn't care for the debate much until I saw that it was REALLY bothering people, but I would consider 6-4 human wins to be not something of note in the debate. Thank you for bringing it up

Those Numbers doesn't matter, The fact is Non-humans are largely neglected at this stage, that even with one or two wins, they still don't get enough contents people want.
Any attempt try to argue it's not going there, is just disingenuous.

Before Xperiment's business model becomes a detriment, I didn't expect it to go this way.
Afterall, "Patreon Priority Voting" is actually very common. But those are "Priority" list, Not a "Only thing to do" list.

If Xperiment wish, It's not difficult to keep the balance / diversity, You just work on the rest of the NPCs, before introduce new Human / Humanoid.
The fact is he just choose not to.

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents for the whole humans/aliens thing. While I understand the desire for more monster sex, I would like to explain why, presently, certain humans are far more appealing than the monsters. I think it would be best if we compared the relevant humans to the relevant monsters.

Bradley/Arthur
Diego/Niachios
Galiano/Garth
Skru'vaks/Samuel
Personally, given this list I would greatly prefer the humans because the associated traits are far more interesting. Rylan has the most development as a character overall and has a ton of BDSM content. Arthur has plenty of world building potential and kink experience. Diego's whole personality is about having been a dom as a marketing thing. Galiano wants slavery Garth doesn't. Samuel is easy to abuse by most of the cast and Skru'vaks doesn't have much personality. In each instance the humans are far more appealing than the monsters for the ones where we have direct interactions/ decisions to choose between them.

Would I object to more monsters? No, but the humans have been far more compelling in terms of kinks, scenario and writing. Snake is a compelling character and won the poll with 42% because he's more interesting than everyone else. I would like more content with Bradley and Alastor, but Snake just has more about him that is attractive

Xperiment holds the total autonomy for LO, he hs the full power to stop it if he want to, but he Chooses not to.

Patrons are only spend money for their own best interest, they hav no obligations to the game.

These numbers are the only way to actually measure whether the patrons prefer human characters to aliens. You can't really claim that the voters have a bias that is influencing the direction of the game as a "fact" without having any proof of that (aside from a vague feeling that the alien characters aren't getting as much content as humans).

And like, if you're only playing the game for the aliens, of course the human characters getting anything will always feel like it's too much/aliens getting anything will not be enough. But the game was never advertised as a strictly alien/furry/monster game, even at the very beginning, and it was always going to be featuring humans prominently. Here is the only part of the itch.io description, for example, to even mention aliens:

Lust Odyssey is a game with a dark atmosphere with some touches of humor. It revolves around your ship and your crew and at some point expect to make hard decisions about them, Although, in the first version you will only find humans, it will have aliens. Eventually, I hope to add furries as well and make the aliens more and more weird and colorful.

But regardless, I don't even really agree with the underlying assumption that the aliens are somehow being neglected. Over the past few months we've got a new alien crew member (Jhaan) with a bunch of sex scenes, two major alien characters in the recent story arc (Nikolaos, Holoryx) with planned future sex scenes, Skru'vaks and Alastor winning polls and getting new sex scenes/side stories, and Bradley, Hakkon and Katari getting sex scenes with the new "spy on crew" feature. That's not really that little compared to the human content we got (about the same amount, tbh).

Well done, it boils down to the creator's choice to keep the balance himself and he chose not to and let money tip the scales. When it comes to certain human fans there's a willful ignorance about them despite the discussions and numbers.

After posts like these I say we've done our due diligence in helping them become slightly more media-literate from our wordplay despite their rhetoric.

You can start a relationship with him, but you can't get him in the crew. I think Xperiment might have said that there were plans for it at some point, but I'm not sure, and even if they did I think there's a good chance that the game has moved on from him at this point.

Maybe I'm just stupid or I'm missing an opportunity, but how can I save Levi? I've talked to practically everyone in Akra, have access to level 3 and still all that comes up is "Search for Levi's mysterious fate". Is the quest still in progress or where is my mistake?

I think they were referring to actual explicit drawings, which yeah, the game doesn't have a lot of. Most of the time it's just text description.
edit: I do think the plan is to eventually add a lot more though.

Real question tho, How can a porn game ever have "real sex scene"???
Even if it has CG / Animation / Porn video, They are still pieces of "Media", the same as Text is a type of "Media", that has nothing to do with you, and totally NOT "Real".

Personally I'd prefer text over pictures any day, unless the CG or Animation are really well made.
And I totally don't get off of porn videos anymore unless they are really well integrated into the game.
Heck, The scene CGs in LO are actually boner killer, than boner lifer, that I'd rather not seeing

ok, i had to be more explicit. being french and self-learner, my english is still limited, sorry. so i decided to be short.

this is a graphic game, but the sex is not really graphic.
you can't see any interaction, only one nude character standing an erection.
that's really poor...
i know the creation of such games is a job.
i know graphics take time.
but the basic idea of this game deserves more than this result.
