Also Hyao just made a post basically regarding how there's been a lot of feedback. I'm absolutely paraphrasing here, but it boils down to:
"You can absolutely be constructive with feedback, but don't be an asshole or it can kill peoples' eagerness to work on projects like this."
^ Which is what I literally said just days ago. He's also asking for people to stop comparing the two artists, and also mentioned that ZoroJ wasn't replaced, simply that he's busy with his own life. He also calls to people that they should stop (monetarily) supporting him if they think his "best isn't good enough for them".

I'm only sharing this because I don't want people to break Hyao down and cause him to just say fuck the whole thing. I'd rather have what people consider "the game has gone bad" to no game at all. If you guys didn't care about the game at all, you wouldn't be acting like this in the first place, you'd just move on to stuff you do care about.

The takeaway here is that Hyao has clearly heard a lot about this update and that's a good thing. Whether this affects future updates or not is what we shall see, but again, just don't be an asshole to the guy or Narram, because that's not how you get what you want (unless you want the game to be abandoned, then I guess keep doing that).

• I agree there are better ways to say things ("constructively" or not, as it can be a very subjective term).
  • And I did use some strong words towards Narram's works which could be phrased better
• Nobody wants to hear negativity / denial. But again, "It's the internet, random people say random things. " You need to deal with it. People are upset for a reason.
• "Free" Doesn't make you immune to criticise. Using it as an argument point is really laughable
  • Like all of your posts can be summarised into 2 points,
    • it's non-constructive
    • It's free, so stop talking about it
  • and you just keeping repeating them, again, again and again
• Hyao can also handle the matters better, like:
  • Be upfront what's difficulty he's facing;
  • Don't make statement that invites further blasting
• I though Narram is a professional artist, if he's still fairly new and need additional care, Hyao should also mention it
• People get upset all the time, like many are still can't get past Extracurricular Activities' artist changing (Man the New MC is really "Not Service-able"), but that doesn't hinder it's development

The only problem I have with Narram is his inconsistency with the quality of his arts. Dude gotta stop trying to mimic ZoroJ's style/color palette and using his own because his art is really good imo. It's a shame.

Creators lurk around this site a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if Hyao or Narram themselves have read what you post. I wouldn't be surprised if other people have screenshotted stuff here and sent it to the creators through discord. Hell, I remember that happening in the morenatsu fan translation forums with screenshots posted on 4chan.

But of course, Hyao has the discretion to take our unsolicited criticism since we're not paying for his work. There's probably some people here who are patreon supporters who come here to complain because they probably can't complain in the discord.

The porn CGs are really good though. The only reason I finished Grifter's route.

Man idk why everyone hates EA because of that, I don't mind the MC too much he's not that bad. Coach's route sucks tho every other route is orders of magnitude better.

Coach's route I'd argue borders on satire/commentary because it's so dumb. "I have depression and it's totally not your responsibility except you're literally the only thing stopping me from quitting my job and letting the car drift off the highway into the Arizona Desert like that one scene in Breaking Bad and also you're just going to have to live with the fact that I still definitely haven't moved on from my literal psychopath ex-wife lmaoo because I 'still think there's a chance she'll forgive me'."

All the other characters have reasonably mature/nuanced issues, Coach's feels like a fanfic. at least he's hot

I tough I was the only one annoyed by that, whenever I play that game I feel like I'm whore who will do anything for said "my wolf" for goodness sake at this point in the story were walking around in a dress and a collar and you have no say in that, the "game" just shoves everything into you and not a single choice matters

If I were to guess, I'd say this is warning 1. And that's me assuming he has some constitution to his patience. I get that people are frustrated and have issues with the game, but if everyone keeps tearing his game a new asshole then we'll be lucky to even have it by the end of the year.

Game makers and comic makers have limits. If more people are complaining constantly about a game than not, they'll just stop. It's fine to be irked by it, but he probably gets 5K complains a week, everybody wants him to hear THEIR compliant and they MUST tell him how much he sucks, he's going to get sick of it eventually. Then we'll lose the project. And then nobody wins.

If they cease to be an artist, I will find another. This is not the only VN game in the world. Shit is Shit. Gold is Gold. I've mentioned that this is the best VN game I've ever played, till one day I quit supporting it and playing it since they only focus on one side of the target, not in the middle. And if it ends soon since it's becoming worse. It became a legend that it was once the best because it was true. and due to the fact that the game is now shit! According to the comments in the thread, I'm not the only one who thinks and says this.
I don't mind saying goodbye and moving on. Nevertheless, we are here because we like the game.

I was actually worried that ZoroJ and Hyao is having real life difficulties, but it seems it's not the case, from the sound of it;

• ZoroJ is moving onto next stage of his life (even not quit he will likely not return for full participation)
• Hyao is just struggle as a creator

It's assuring for their well-being, but in the meantime this also means LD won't get better anytime soon
