The biggest complain was around the fact that Hyao, instead of progressing the main plot, took too many commissions and broaden the game widely, instead of focusing on one thing, thus having a burnout, trying to please paid supporters. I've stopped actively following the game several months after the werewolf den alpha fight, seeing the game development moving at much slower pace, than it was at the start of the release. As for the character design, it was quite obvious that it won't be for everyone's taste, since even the first enemy bandit had a bulging body of a common gorilla patriarch, but seeing how orcs were presented, the first bandit was only the starting point for a muscle inflated fetish of this game.

Correct me, because I'm most likely wrong, but in terms of locations where the main plot progresses what was added in two years? The human city, an orc camp, a fish village and a port town with undeads, some locations between them, roads, caves and etc., a jungle and that's it? If the amount of content in them satisfy you, then I guess that's great for you, but I don't really see much progression in the game, except the war updates. And I don't really see the reason to start another new game, I had enough when I had to redo the game when my save files were broken for 20th time, because each new version was incompatible with the old ones. Even if it't not like that anymore, I'll probably wait for another year to see if the plot has been moved as far so I can start to care about the game again.

Even if you don't like the state of the project, do you really need to Slander the Developer in bad faith?
Sure you can say Hyao is incompetent in project management, and let scope creep gets the better of him. But it's almost guaranteed to happen to indie dev's first project when they hv so many ideas floating around.
Sure the project struggles greatly for a long while, but Hyao actively trying to remedy it, and it's seen better light as of late.
That can NOT be said for 90% the devs in this market.

The art direction is already set clearly when it first came out, if you don't like it, that's your problem.

Not to mention Hyao offeres in-game cheats For Free, in case you don't like to grind.

Reasonable criticism is fine, but don't spread blind hatred, nothing good will come out of it.

Honest it's just boring now, it was never confirmed why ZoroJ stopped doing the art either which honestly was the biggest downfall, I'm not keen on games that have multiple artists as it becomes inconsistent then we have Hyao KILL OFF the best character then on top of that we have vanilla af scenes now. It should be renamed to Reluctant Desires

I really do not see why so much negativity.

I have been following this game for nearly a year, and I see updates and content that is:
- consistent with the size of the tiny development team
- regularly paced, with playable new content coming out monthly like clockwork
- competently written, structured, with dialogues and art that is quite a bit above the quality I have come to expect from indie games

It's more than I can say about many professional development teams and even games studios with funding and a publisher. Sure, some indie games are better at project management or better at communication, because their devs have more experience, but then tend to be much less generous with free content and much more focused on extracting income from the project.

It could be simply because he doesn't draw ferals. Having a good amount of your enemies just be a silhouette for years, even the basic Wolf enemies, looks bad.

Here's simple answers, what if... Hyao take commission and widen game content area because he planned for Big main plot? Like all content that doesn't involved main story somehow have reaction or various affected outcomes? Like alpha werewolf background for uncover witch secret?
Or another theory, Hyao want to make content available as much as possible so when he developed main storyline it'll become more make sense from big pictures of game lore & current situation and less plot hole. As well as more easily to pick storyline path and widen imagination for main story plot.

The typical update cycle is one new release every 3 months. But the dev team mentioned they were going to try to move to one update every 2 months. I wouldn't hold my breath, though. They are doing some significant changes in the combat system to support some new scenarios (some of the "enemy characters AI" changes already went out) and I imagine this will be requiring significant QA.

At least since I've started following the game, I don't remember ever seeing any content polls on Patreon, no. The few polls I can recall had to do with art, like if Hissh should have genital piercings in his sprites and if the MC should be featured in CGs (as a shadowy person with no distinct features).

I can't ever recall him doing content polls. The last few polls have been more about how he presents the content vs what it actually is.

This makes me wonder why he even implemented 'red routes' at all, instead of just short and immediate 'bad ends'.
It doesn't seem like Hyao plans to do both timeline at all lol. These are no better than 'meaningless choices'.
