really hope they just focus on the gameplay instead of trying to include visual novel elements. We need a SDT 2.0 already.

Kinda late for that, they're already in the middle of making the game into a VN for some reason, probably brain damage or drugs. I don't understand why they're doing it; who makes an SDT clone and thinks "hmm, you know what this sex sim needs? Dialogue! A story! Plotlines and OCs!"
Like bruh, give us more parts to work with, more fetishes, more tools, more mod support, don't waste gobs of dev time on dialogue mechanics and writing relationships with Generic Anime Girl #395827. I'm just baffled why devs do this stuff.

As you see, it's still quite a mess with how many bugs there are in the patreon paid version so it's best to go for the stable demo for a bug-free experience but you can keep going for it.
