If I'm not mistaken, the visual novel tag on F95 is used when the game is linear, which is why I don't use it.
I think that's "kinetic novel", where the choices in the game have no actual bearing on the story/gameplay.

I’m here once again to update you on the latest developments I’ve been and am currently working on!
First of all, let me begin with some words of gratitude—this time for reaching a very important and special milestone for me… for the first time ever, Lusty Buccaneers has surpassed 1,000 Patreons!!!
Thank you all so much for supporting me, and especially to every single one of these Patreons whose incredible help makes it possible for me to keep going and continue developing this game. Thanks to your support, many others reading this on the other side can also enjoy it for free!
Now, focusing on the progress of the game—as all of you who’ve followed me for some time already know, I always read every single one of your comments, and of course I pay special attention to the latest votes to know where you want me to invest my time and effort.
To my surprise—and probably many of yours as well—a large number of votes asked for something quite particular: adding a bathroom to the ship. With that in mind, I dedicated a good portion of the development time during v0.36 to make sure it would be possible for v0.37, along with bringing you a very special event for Rebecca that took quite some work.
Something many of you might not know is that with every update, I always dedicate extra time to improving—whether that means upgrading my tools or learning new things—so I can keep bringing you the best content possible!
Just by looking at some of the older events, you can clearly see the huge leap in quality I’ve achieved with lewd scenes recently, and in v0.36 you’ll find several reworks that showcase these improvements. Soon there won’t be any events left with that old quality, as I’ve decided to update them one by one while continuing with this month's regular content.
Version 0.37 comes packed with a lot of new content! If everything goes according to plan, both versions will be available on December 1st!
I’m not stopping anytime soon, and the game will continue improving without pause—while still keeping up with all the smaller tasks that often go unnoticed, like reading all your comments and replying to you, among many other things I handle behind the scenes.
Rest assured, I’m giving my very best for this game—so let’s raise a toast to Lusty Buccaneers becoming the best One Piece–based NSFW game out there.

Many of you had been asking that we give a bit of love to our Amazonian princess, who had been left a little on the sidelines, so I decided to focus on her a bit this time. The two new lewd events come with a complete rework, modifying all the dialogue and overall structure, and bringing you new animated scenes of much higher quality.
On the other hand, Rayleigh’s questline and Haki training continue, while we slow down Dressrosa’s progression a bit, allowing me to set the foundation for a special Rebecca event coming in the next version v0.37!
Version 0.37 comes with a lot of new content! First of all, something many of you were asking for has been added: the ship’s bathroom and an event with Robin there — this will be the first of many more! On the other hand, the winning event from the latest poll, Boa Hancock’s fully animated lewd missionary event, has been added! And last but not least, while the player must face a new enemy in the tournament, the battles in the Corrida Colosseum are getting more intense. Ricky had a rough time in his last fight, and Rebecca will have to face an enemy that will mark a before and after in the colosseum. A special event with lots of images !

I need reverse cowgirl scenes for all the girls, but the ones I most want to see in this position are Nami and Boa. They have the best butts, and seeing their asses bounce in POV would be amazing. I hope they add them, since the animations are improving and those scenes are necessary.

For now, only Nami and Robin have that event. More will be added in the future for all the girls, but it’s not something Patrons are prioritizing at the moment.
To reach the Outskirts of Shells Town, you need to follow Rayleigh’s quest line in the bar to the end. Currently it isn’t a playable map; you can only reach it through an event, where you train with him. There will be content here in the future.
Just know that there are plenty of people that have 0 problem with canonical Kiku as well. Do it whichever way you want.
I think UTA's scene animation quality is excellent, and I hope that future productions can use the same style, or even update completed content.
