Can anyone tell me whether the specs requirements from steam relevant? Or it's just like your typical Japanese company trying to play safe so they ramp up the requirements despite lower end PC could still handle it smoothly?

It's pretty light, doesn't heat up my PC at all
I mean this is a small developer so I'll cut them some slack with inaccurate spec
They probably put their own computer spec lol

If I am understanding this game correctly the whole game is in 2d except terrain itself. So it should have pretty low requirements.

Cloud saving, workshop and supporting the devs. I bought it but I don't think anyone here will judge you if you don't considering this is a piracy forum.
Hopefully we get to use workshop for more than just furniture in the future

Well, the only thing beneficial is that the game's bound to your steam account.
Other than that, if you think it's not worth buying the game when it's early access (or you have problems getting steam wallet currency or money to buy the game), then just pirate it.
