ok thanks a lot for the advice, playing yesterday however I encountered a problem basically I noticed that the level of the natives in the raids has increased a lot while before I was much stronger than them now I have to work hard to beat them and often they manage to steal one of my pngs in the village so what should I do? do I have to train all the pngs with the punching bag? or can I capture bigfoot or something else? and put him on guard? in the latter case will he be able to cover enough area of the village and how can he survive does he need a food box too or does he regenerate automatically?
The level of raids depends on just two things: how far north you are, and whether you put in any totems that modify the raids.
You can put up some totems to weaken the raids, if you want to do it the easy way.
Any powerful guards you capture, like Bigfoot, cover as much area as their red circle indicates. Unless they get lost, because their pathfinding sucks as much as anybody else's pathfinding.
Like everybody else, bigfoot needs food to regenerate, and the optimal way to deal with it is to have a food box nearby. You can even tell him to fill the box himself. Note that filling the food box is a different job from farming, and doesn't require any resources - they seem to just forage.
For weak villagers, putting their behavior on "survivor" is a good idea. This way, they pretty much can't die.
Finally, if your villagers get captured, go and rescue them. There, you will find a big guard. Kill him and take his amulet. Put this amulet on yourself or on a big and powerful guard of your own. This way, raiders will be honor-bound to attempt to attack the wearer of the amulet instead of somebody weaker.
