Where is the story currently at? Sort of feel like Yona has taken a backseat in most updates and we don't get much interaction between the two in the story.

I think with how far the game has to go, it's best to find other things to distract yourself with and not even pay attention to updates. A real "come back in a year and see how it is going" scenario.
That's just my stance though. Don't get antsy trying to be patient for just one update, let several stack up
If a possibility maybe we get a full release in august... Depending in how the dev actually works since the roadmap LOOKS medium sized, but we don't know what plans he has on it. The endings look "short" to make, as for the long work i believe it will be the merman people event, the glasses girl and maybe the giant.......And of course the DLC
He did a good idea regarding the dlc tho', updating it every time he had to update sure sounded like pain and having it way delayed till completion is smart

pregnancy is halted until recruited... and if you quit the game or reload they are dumped by the game.
I had recruited some girls which I had impregnated dureing a night visit and they still started at 0 with their preg counter, even if they spent several days in a prison cell.
Never checked on unconcious ones in the villages as they tend to disappear long before they'd be ready to pop... but my gues is it's the same with them.
I tested to see if they would get bloated belly and the answer is no and they definitely don't give birth, though i only did it once and i've since come to wonder if i should give it another go to make sure. Their rape animations do change to the pregnant version if you do knock them up in their sleep though.
Maybe I really dumb, but I don't know how to feed the MCs, I always end up starving to death

The story is currently still stuck on us being unable to build a bridge to the center-north part of the island. Moving the story is in the plans of the developer, but not yet in publicly available versions.
This is because the game was significantly reworked from it's original concept (Ryona running around on an island full of ugly bastards that want to ryona her) to make it more male protagonist focused. Yona has to drive the plot forward because she was written as the protagonist, but the game is now sold as a tribal harem simulator where you breed and exploit an army of slaves so the male protagonist gets a lions share of the new H content.

Also technically they aren't unique appearances but rather alternatives ones since you can have several of those at the same time.
