You know that's always one thing i worry about in the back of my mind, are the devs still making the game they want to make? Prior works show that the devs are ryona/guro creators, the way I see it only "inspired" people do that since I don't think the audience for that is very large. But this game has attracted a pretty decent audience despite titty burgers and execution devices in the show window and I doubt that audience are here for those. As they cater to this audience I just worry that they could lose motivation or inspiration, not really sure what I want to say. But you see like how the game kinda just cold opens, they give you the plot and then tell you to fuck around or fuck off, no tutorial or nothing. While I will say it's not great game design I do think it shows the devs aren't trying to please everyone, if that makes sense. Yet it still very much shows what kind of game it is as if you have no idea what to do, they start you as yona, 3 dudes will manifest off screen near you after a while, kick your shit in and rape you, then come back in 10 mins with a raid to do it all over again. I actually like that, sets the tone of the game real well i reckon. This same kind of not pleasing everyone "inspired" thinking let them do things like the sadako secret, the blood rain effect and all the guro stuff and while I don't enjoy all that stuff I think the game is better off having it cause the devs were inspired to make it. Look at the big foot, he was in the game for a long time but then they had their "inspired" thinking and said "what if you could feed natives to the big foot?" now we can have a dark big foot and i think that's kinda cool.
Now I don't mind getting away from the guro stuff, i'd actually prefer it, but only so long as it's what they devs actually want to do so as to not water down their ideas or possibly making them burnout. Another unsolicited rant from me, I'm usually a silent lurker but i've been real chatty(for me anyway) this week.
