Good to provide additional notes, although parts of it I'd consider more as a spoiler on what exactly happens.
(Can't speak for the other guy asking the question, nor those that don't already know it if he/they want(ed) that)

- No this is not a complaint about your info, just a note that some might not want too much info.
Took your feedback and hid the notes behind a spoiler.

Because game code is few long ass functions with hundred or so switch case statements. It is impossible to make a good modding base when you learned programming by watching Youtube
While true, you also have to consider that what was achieved with such weird approaches is surprising for sure.
Even if he isn't that great at organizing code in an easily expandable and overseeable fashion, his games are certainly worth it - and it's not THAT bad either (I've seen much much much worse *cough* and also done much much much worse)
Just wondering if the assesment is based on the actual source code? I've done a bunch of local modding by decompiling the Assembly-CSharp, and the switch/goto statements looked like build/compiler optimizations. If so, I'd bet the actual source code is probably better.

In short: My answers were based on the decompiled aspect - although the whole goto/if/else/hash chaos is certainly due to compiler optimizations from (very highly likely switches)
Doesn't change the fact that it is still all shoved in a single function with a "giant" switch statement and additional code inside, which could've been handled VERY differently.

And yeah, the youtube aspect is likely exaggerated - and the actual souce will certainly look cleaner as it will obviously be a bit more readable than the whole goto/if/else chaos with hashes and whatnot.

It is a big point that COULD be improved upon, but the dev seems content with it (for now) - I do bet however, if he does plan on adding a lot more (or ends up doing a lot more than planned even), it will cause issues as it will get more and more difficult to oversee it if it's a massive switch statement and once that point is reached, it will get even more difficult to change it up to be easier to expand upon. (The biggest caveat to it currently is that while knowing exactly how it's all setup, you can expand it, but once you want to change it up and it gets a bit too big, it'll feel like a massive chore)

Then again, the dev did a lot of improvements over the time IIRC and from the previous game.

So while it sounds harsh, the dev still does a great job and obviously the actual source looks a lot better yet (until he adds a bit too much, then it'll massively slow down more and more in terms of updates until it is addressed, if at all)
Though I have to add that my view is from several versions back, things MIGHT have changed by now too.

question: can you give yona a dick via the surgery table? and if possible would you then be able to grab with her and make it easier to knock someone out and nab them? or is than just limited to "MAN"?

Here's one: https://f95zone.to/threads/mad-island-v0-5-4-beta-e-made.209671/post-13838706

I believe where you set your base also affects the level of the enemy raiders.

Raider level scales by distance from the starting beach. It doesn't care what your character level is.

(Number of raiders is the one that scales with both characters' levels.)

Judging by the level you're probably somewhere near the northwest or northeastern beaches. Or whoever the raid target is.
I am near the blue plains, my base is located on top of the lab (the plains where the hatch leads out to)

So, at one of the northernmost points on the map, no wonder you get high-level raids.
Note that you can manipulate raids with the right totems.

Plateau above the lab has raid levels above 60. They're targeting someone there so they're going to spawn somewhere nearby, and the level scaling works off WHERE they initially spawn.

It isn't based on where your character is, unless your character is the one being targeted by the raid.

I don't have anybody yet, I just speedran through Spike and then to Cyborg lab to get to my favorite base-building place

So, two characters, Man and Yona only?

Did you move Yona to your base?

And where is the character you're controlling at? I'm afraid "blue plains" doesn't ring a bell. Unless you mean the teal-colored "highlands" areas, in which case if you're at the northeastern highlands the raider levels will also be L60+.

Also note there's a delay before a raid spawns (the game can take some time to figure out a valid spawn location), so if you're the target of a raid and you happen to fast travel right before a raid starts... the raid might still spawn somewhere near your previous location which can be a high-level area.
