Overview:
A man named Gorgus has killed your father, and you have to find the villain and to avenge your father’s death. Moving around your hero through towns and dungeons in top-down view, you must fight (in turn-based combat style) many monsters, gather experience points, and collect items. The game also features some scenes with naked women, and many sub-quests involve saving girls and then enjoying their anime-style pictures.

Despite being an orphan, Mash lives a relatively peaceful and happy life in the village of Dorah. This all changes, however, on a day in his 17th year. Ol’ Samos, his guardian, calls him in for a talk about Mash’s long dead parents.

You see, Mash’s father and mother were the benevolent rulers of Dorah, and would’ve continued acting as such, if not for a mysterious stranger named Gorgus. Gorgus was by no means an ordinary fellow; he possessed the ability to command fire. For apparently only evil reasons, Gorgus killed Mash’s parents.

Judging by the poster the hero suffers from a terminal case of microcephalia D:

...or the artist was like "how do i drew proportions?"; same difference.

"Is this a VN for ants?"

As for the instruction, maybe it's path and sequence instead of past and sequel? I never touched dosbox tho so maybe i'm wrong.
The instructions are now fixed, thanks!

I played this about 17 years ago, and it already felt like an old game.

Still a classic. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this nostalgia !
A time when installation was longer and more complex than the game itself.
The game was all the more enjoyable (Well, it's not the best game of its kind either).

When I see the horrible reviews and the bashing as soon as a summarily translated Hentai-JRPG comes out on F95Zone, I realize that I've gotten old... :ROFLMAO: .... aww........ shit ! :(

Holy crap, that was one of the first hentai games I ever played, sometime like 20 years ago! And it was already an old game then LOL...
In any case, seems a bit stupid to say this game's bad by modern standards, especially considering it came out in the early 90s when the Genesis and SNES were in the middle of their run and Windows had just been released in its 3.1 iteration. Oh, and Internet was still almost exclusively colleges, universities, tech research institutions and some government agencies. It was a different time. Kinda like saying a mounted knight in full plate sucks compared to a modern main battle tank.

Yeah, thanks a lot too!. I remember playing this old game 22! years ago, during the university. God, I'm OLD! :HideThePain:

It is a very simple JRPG ala DragonQuest/Final Fantasy/RPG Maker. In truth, one could port it to RPG Maker 95 and it would still be a step up graphically. It did came around the same years MegaTech published Metal and Lace, Cobra Mission and Dragon Knight III, but I saw distirbuted by Samourai, a french comic book editor that also was bringing books with translated hentai dojinshi (basically you paid for stolen low quality scanlations), but since internet was pretty rare back then... Porn is Porn!

I guess it never sold enough to justify more ports.

This one was a (ironically) more successful and faithful port from PC-98 to IBM-PC, at least compared to Megatech that usually changed plot and graphics (westernizing it), and raised the requirements quite a bit in exchange for a ton of added crap (ex: Metal and Lace). They were funnier., though.

It was a straight port, similar to the ones done by Sierra in the 80s (Sorcerian, Psychic Wars, Silpheed, Princess Maker 2 for DOS), if not as good.

God points:
  • The music was MIDI, but very good, despite being composed to be played in a sounchip, more similarto the of a ZX Spectrum 128K that the of an ADLIB/Soundblaster. Ran it fine (and with richer sound effects too). Comparision . Some themes from the DOS version .

  • While the translation was probably invented, they did not add anachronistic elements that broke inmersion.

  • Intro.

  • PORN!
Bad points
  • The original game ran in PC-9801 low-res (640x200), with scenes in hi-res (640x400). Whoever ported it decided to change it to VGA hi-res (640x480) everywhere. In the case of the scenes (640x400), it added small black bands above and under the images (400->480), but where imperceptible: minimal bother.

The problem was that instead of running the game in VGA hi/lo-res (640x200) which is a STANDARD VGA resolution, decided to doublescan it adding black lines imitating scanlines, which made it super dark. If you pumped the brightness to the top in a tube monitor, it looked fine, untils the scenes, which where too bright. If you watch itnow in a LCD monitor or emulator of some sort, it will look horribly dark. F&%!~G MORON!

  • Simple game, no overworld map, totally linear. Sometimes you had to stop and grind a lot.

  • The plot is super cliche and predictable:
