"Defeat the boss of the Frozen Frontier" Okay, how? I'm stuck because I can't do that, and since I can't do that I can't get the Magic Camera needed to unlock the cards menu. I'm assuming the cards menu is where you can fix your cards to not be garbage, but unlocking it with garbage cards seems utterly impossible.

The 3-mana limit and these garbage starter cards make that rather difficult since the boss has 120 hp and gets a passive +2 armor every turn, and my strongest spell does a whopping 5 damage. The tuning needs some adjusting, enemies are way too tanky and the cards you have are all way too weak. Poison isn't even useful since it just procs at then end of the turn then disappears, so I can't even go for the method of turtling and stacking poison on them.

Another big issue I have is that you cannot discard if you spend all your mana. Cards stay in place, can't click the drop button. Some equipment is also non-functional, equipping the Sturdy Brooch didn't change how much mana I started a fight with for example. It did change what cards I had, but the effect of the equipment did nothing.

Are you upgrading properly? There are several pages to the upgrade screen, IIRC. Some upgrades are available with just the stuff you can gather without beating the boss - that's the stuff you need to buff to beat the boss.

Upgrade screen? I've yet to come across anything like that, haven't seen anything reference it either. If it's in the Cards menu I'm just as stuck as before, cause I can't complete the quest to unlock it because I can't beat the boss.

The Cards page lets you spend dust for pictures of the characters. It doesn't affect your combat deck. Deck customizing is in the screen after picking a destination.

Before these changes I just cleared out the map as much as possible to build up a better deck before fighting the boss and that worked fine. I don't know how useful the deckbuilding system is in this version, but it might be worth it to quit as soon as you get a new card you like since you only get to add one of them to your available cards. I haven't messed with the equipment.

Given the changes, it may be a couple more versions before everything settles out.

I'm still wondering what upgrade screen the other person was talking about.

Did figure out the problem I was having with deckbuilding, I hadn't realized you have to have the exact amount of cards as the cap to apply changes.

Maybe I've missed a bit since I last played it, but Roxxan's out here posting full on sex scenes for this game and I've only seen the one in the hotel lol
Yes, Roxxxan is the second developer in our tiny team and the sole artist. She’s drawn quite a few scenes and continues to create more. Hopefully, once I simplify the game further, even more people will get to experience her work! :)

Thanks for taking the time to answer, Wildpear. I really enjoy your game, but have to admit i am "stuck". I think because i still dont seem to be able to beat the boss in the Icy Frontier. I hope restarting fixes the issue's i have. Keep it up, the game is very promising imo.

Yes, too many changes were made. I tried to test everything, but in complex games like this, something always slips through. Thank you for reporting the item issue.

I’ll also revisit boss health values.

To make it easier—you can first visit special points on the map; some grant bonuses for the next battle. Build a stronger deck → collect one-time bonuses from points → restore health at Camp → defeat the boss.

In the next version, I plan to add a difficulty selector for Journey mode—it will reduce enemy health, increase yours, grant extra mana, but make loot cheaper. I’ll think through how to streamline this mechanic more clearly.

Thanks again for highlighting these problems—it really helps!

I think the first level should be more linear, to help it be more like a tutorial. Make it more difficult for the newbie player to randomly wander off, and sort of guide them into "Oh, this is how I'm supposed to do it".

For optimal results, there should also be a skill-gate on something that either bypasses or at least vastly speeds up the tutorial, but as long as the tutorial isn't particularly boring it's not strictly necessary.

Well, I am still stuck with the Boss in Icy Frontier. I never enjoyed the cards battle, but this is just too much. I cant save my setup, the game crashes when you load a save in Icy Frontier. After spending way too much time grinding through the RNG too get a decent setup, failing, i just have to kick the bucket and never look back.

We have a tutorial level on a small map with very basic mechanics and an extremely simple battle.

Yes, one user already sent me a bug report—the fang amulet turned out to be "broken" in the game data and wasn’t saving correctly for some reason. I’ve fixed this issue.
Also, in the next update, we’ll add difficulty levels—this will let you get more health, mana, and weaker enemies if the current difficulty feels too hard.

There is one turn based card battle i kinda enjoy. That is the one in Sinners Landing. The one in Lust Hunter is ok also. And in both those you can use hp or mana potions, might be a nice idea here to get Rose involved and have here make a few hp potions. 1 other big difference is that the cards you pick up in the icy field that are useful, are temporary and rng. You cant go in with an optimal card deck. The system here is not bad at all, just for me to grindy and luck based. Even just removing the boss hp recovery, cleanse of poison and ice block would make a difference.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ll take a look at how card battles are implemented in those games—we might borrow some ideas from them.
