Update after giving it another go
What a frustrating game. First of all, it has very little art at this point (0.4.6) but that isn't much of a problem because the story and characters are really enchanting. It's certainly the game's great strength.
There is no quest log, so you better read the text if you want to know what to do.
This game is all about transformations, but if you want to get them all you WILL have to use the wiki. Even if you do, you will miss a couple because the conditions to attain them are so specific in terms of time and place. Moreso, they are arbitrary and mutually exclusive. You need to map your progress every step of the way. I restarted a couple times. It's frustrating.
Also it'd be nice to see your transformation progress somewhere (Status menu? Avatar?)
All in all, despite its frustrations, it is an enchanting, sweet game well worth the time.
