Holy crap, this came out of nowhere! Feels like AAA quality game! Unlike a lot of other games, Paperbag seems to know what he's doing and i have no doubt this will develop into a full, high quality and possibly the best finished H-Game. Like someone already said above, this is exactly what i wanted out of a porn game: good mechanics (in this case combat), some story development and choices, character and gameplay development.
This puts to shame my non-H in development game, heh.

You, sir, deserve and is getting a phat pledge as soon as i get income from my own game!

well well well, here i am with the review for this game, o god, lets get started:

The game: its basically a hack and slash action game, pretty similar in gameplay to Nier Automata, since the game is just and alpha theres only 2 enemy types, no death animation or outcome (for now) since this alpha introduce us to and training simulacrum. so, that explain the lack of H content at the start (pretty fair)

I get some insane lag on wave 8 no matter what's the graphics option (i was running it on ultra before perfectly -> switched everything to lowest possible still got lags).

Hmm... Despite the fact that the graphics are simply awesome, the concept is one that I always wanted to see spiced with h-content and I while really like the genre... I just can't seem to enjoy this.

I am using a keyboard and I'm having a hard time beating the level. The controls really don't make me feel in control. They are are really wacky and unstable, sometimes after Amelia jump-attacks, she backflips to the other edge of the map, forcing me to run all the way back to the enemies.
"Locking" onto targets doesn't really lock them, the camera just slightly focuses more on them, and I can see their health bar. But if I get next to a wall, and try to get some distance while I'm locked on an Enemy, the camera will go a bit crazy.
Enemies tend to get stuck on top of crates and objects, making them hard to reach.
A lot of the hits I make while "Hacking and Slashing" don't register, making my attempts to actually aim, a bit pointless. Amelia won't really attack in the direction I am facing (or the where the camera is facing, for that matter), she'll attack toward where she is facing. So I have to use the WASD keys to turn her around all the time.

All those issues combined, make it rather difficult for me to beat the level under 5 minutes. So I just hope they take their time to polish the combat itself. IDK, maybe I'm just a noob. Maybe I ought to but a controller. :disappointed:

Other than that, though, I have to say that the graphics and animations are surprisingly smooth! The overall design seems great... Base building? YES PLEASE! Magical Girls? YES PLEASE! Dating Sim? YES PLEEEASE!!! :eazyHype:

Thanks for the feedback! One of the high priority items for the next build is to make the H-game easier but there's a bunch of other things I will also address based on the feedback.

There are no plans for this, but there are plans for a female villain, so maybe that's a logical extension. It's not just a story game so it really depends on how it'll affect the availability of the girls for gameplay, though. (And of course, if it increases the scope of the game, we need to see how much more it'll cost to make the additional content required.)

I don't think NTR fits in with the dating sim parts of the game, so we don't really want to go that route either.

Of course, the story is very flexible still since this isn't a game built on the story first, so who knows.

However, I do agree with ViktorReznov; QTE and eroge does not mix well together at all. It would be another thing if it was during cutscenes and gameplay but during sex? Please reconsider it.

If you guys wanted it to be more interactive instead of click and watch, maybe look at the OSex mod for Skyrim? I feel that kind of thing would likely suit this more.

Thanks! The battle track (which is WIP) is the closest reflection to the quality of music we will have for the final build. Honestly, I think the particular track fits the next map (new york) better, but it's our only piece of custom music for now so I wanted to make sure it made it into the demo. I think it sounds pretty sweet, though, and unique, which is great. All the other music and sounds in the demo is currently placeholder, but will be slowly substituted with final music and sounds once Aoiichi (musician and sound guy) slowly fills it out and writes tracks. Aoiichi is owning the musical tone of the game, but I know he's trying to find a unique sound for the game, similar to how N:A has a sound you immediately associate with the game after you've heard it. I have faith in his skills to deliver that tonality to Mahou Arms. You can send him a message on discord if you want to know more about the musical direction, since I'm not really qualified to give a good answer about that.

The sex QTEs (except for the orgasm QTE) are going away in the next build, it's a high priority item on our trello board now.

I'm sorry about the buttons on screen not matching M/KB yet - unreal doesn't have built in support for input scheme detection so I didn't have enough time to finish that code in time for the demo. I had to choose between actually delivering the hscene on time, or making sure the input detection completely works first, so I had to delay that code a bit. But it is coming in the future. There will be some tutorial messages too.

Ok, now I have played the sex part of the game, I should say playing too much with keyboard/joystick really shift the focus away from the "pleasure", if you know what I mean, if you want to add some sort of gameplay to the sex scenes you should make it so you only need one hand, AND in a way you don't need to look into controls shifting your focus away from the action, I want to see the girls face while she sucks, not bars and controls.

Anyway, it seems the game will be epic, but as it stands it will only fulfill its role as a porn game when it is moded to remove all this, sorry to say, useless gameplay on the sex scenes.

Anyway, even with this annoying gameplay on the sex scenes this game looks like will be awsome.

Optimization is good.I can run the game with my 5 years old laptop 1080p/Ultra .(16 GB DDR3/GTX850M/4710HQ)HScene's a little bit hard.Especially when they keep moving you can't focus or see the buttons.Its too fast for K/B.And yeah Keyboard optimization is needed for Hscenes.Very good start imo
