typically in Wizardry style games, hybrids are king, especially hybrid melees that can either dish out high damage or take a few hits with the best gear. Seems to be the case in this game cuz with monks, assassins, and spellblades you'll mop up most enemies, with a few other silly combinations such as Hunter with big bows or valkyries being able to poke rows one and two or hide in the back line.
Sorcerer and Bishop seem to be the best magic damage classes cuz they both get two schools and both use Spirit Magic (standard elemental stuff), with Sorc getting Alchemy lists and Bishop getting Holy magic. Finally there's the weird ones like Bard, which is okay but excels with silly stuff like double sleighbells, Druid that is basically just a priest but with Alchemy and likes to bonk stuff, and Summoner, which might not seem great until you get later summons that actually start hitting hard.
