Does someone know how is the translation going? From what i know someone named Xebit took upon himself the translation but it has been 10 days since his last activity. i wonder if there is any other place where we could know the progress of the translation

Look like Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek work well with 8 Members Party or CCMod, egg and status and stuff are in order, but 8 Members Party can't work with CCMod. It will load denpend on which mod is put lower in order, if CCMod is lower 8 Members Party will be removed even though it still in game root and will bug out and crash after fight, if 8 Members Party is lower it will bug out and crash after you use inn. Mod Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek can only be use after you marry someone so don't use it if you not marry anyone yet (Test with my save without marry anyone, 8 Members Party + Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek). So, you can't use all 3 at the same time for now, it will be 8 Members Party + Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek or Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek + CCMod.
Test from v1.20 Eng and save from Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek:
patch5.xp3 is Multi Marriage and Never Miss Inn Peek
patch8.xp3 is 8 Members Party
patch7.xp3 is CCMod higher 8 Members Party
patch9.xp3 is CCMod lower 8 Members Party
Edit: Same bugs when test with v1.26 eng patch

I played as a summoner and when leveling up early in game (first quests in sapphire city - levels like 9 - 11) got a message that I learned summon mimic, but no such spell I could be found - is it a bug or I misread something?
Summon mimic, is weirdly named. Taken literally, it makes you think you can summon a mimic but it's not.
First, it's a skill not a spell.
Second, what it does is that it allows the user to mimic the actions of a summon. I.E. If your summon has kick, using this will allow you to use kick. It's pretty helpful for summons who have unique skill/spells.

Alright. Somethings gone awry, I thought it was because I was using the 1.26 patch from the dev and Xebit but even using 1.25 from both with the base files from DLsite gives the same issue. No mods installed, 6 characters in my lineup.

Unable to convert ANSI to UNICODE. Changing the locale is not the only thing at fault. Try to install jpn language for typing as well.
I'll try that now thanks. Upon testing so far, it appears its not exclusive to Xebits patch. Any alteration to the original files causes an issue. Xebit, CCmod, The mod for H enemies anywhere, item restrictions? All and any of them, one at a time all seem to cause an issue. The Xebit and CCMods caused the previous errors but patchs 6 / 7 / 71 cause this one.

I converted everything to UTF-8 BOM because the default used by the game is some ancient encoding due to the age of the engine and UTF-8 makes git merge and diff work.

Unpack the translation patch, change the encoding of all text files back to UCS-2 LE BOM, repack, and try again - if the game without any patches works this has a chance of fixing it. Or figure out why your operating system is weird because I and many others have no such issues. The other alternative is to go dig up the 1.20 TL patch and use that instead.

It's not your mod's fault probably, but do you have any idea why tying to change font in settings cause an error?

Well, to no avail. I did already have the Jap language for typing installed too. What I can confirm is that
enabling UTF-8 in locale settings does not allow for the game to run in native Japanese either. Like you say, I may have to go back to patch 1.2 but I was using that combined with Mtool anyway considering how far into the game I am.
It also feels like the issues stem from the Devs 1.25/6 patches as well, so I'm going to go back to 1.23 and see what I can do. Zero knowledge on how to change the encoding on the files but it isn't related to your mod anyway considering the issues surrounding other mods too.

That happens with just the TL patch too. There's no crash log generated and the option really doesn't matter so I can't be bothered to look into it. It's probably a kirikiri engine thing.

Can confirm. Patch 1.25 from the dev with 1.20 Xebit Patch works. Xebit 1.25 by itself or CCmod by itself gives the previous errors.
None of the other mods seem to cause issues. So I have no idea what the solution could be outside of what drchainchair suggested, that my PC is encoding is some bizarre way. Got the Jap language packs and locale though, very strange.

About harsher captures - I would suggest ensuring greater amount of capturing enemies with that option. I simply wipe them out anyway even with that option enabled.

He hasn't provided any updates on the translation's progress. He has updated the existing partial translation a few times, but hasn't added any new content. I don't expect the full translation to be ready anytime soon.
If he has given up on it, we could ask someone else to take over, but i have no idea if he's still working on it.
