Uh, oops, absent-minded on me for ignoring this for so long...
Manor Alpha 21 Preview 3
Windows 64-bit -
+ Scanning meals with special effects or the empty plates that held them now gives champions weak evidence
+ Scanned visitors who have alraune seed infections or succubus marks now give champions evidence
+ Added golem headplate text
+ Fixed some text issues with several of the new single target actions
+ Fixed cases where golems would continue assisting characters after they cease being lord golems
+ Added code for body swaps with golems
+ Hopefully fixed skipping of the orders tutorial
+ Fixed a bunch of actions not being able to target golems
+ Traitors who were champions but are no longer now clear their check-in timers on leaving the manor
+ Fixed issues caused by unexpected properties in save files
+ Maids now interrupt visitors (including cops and champions) who are bashing down doors. If successful, this will cancel their current goal, but they may return to try again later
+ Cops will now begin leaving without finishing their objectives if the time before they're expected to return runs low
+ Added a way to exchange golem balls for a small amount of contribution (likely temporary)
+ Made some changes to how missing character reports are handled when characters leave the manor; affects a variety of cases but covers things like 'traitor leaves with the wrong personality and weirds out their friends' or 'visitor leaves in the wrong body' and should remove reports that weren't being removed because the leaving character was in the wrong body (report is removed on personality or appearance match now, instead of ... a somewhat silly check)
+ Teleporting the manor now clears champion check-in trackers; champions will gain evidence when experiencing a teleport and those who are still investigating will try to re-establish contact (creates a new check-in tracker)
+ Adjusted the stay put when idle order; it now has an additional 'return to post' option, which will make a character return to a chosen room after travelling elsewhere. A set idle post action has been added when viewing a character to set the location. This has extended/combined the 'stay put when idle' and 'clean here and neighbouring' settings
+ Probably fixed a bunch of issues relating to various characters acting unusually towards plant zombies (e.g. aware characters warning them). Possibly caused new issues

How much sexual Content is in the game ?
People have sex with each other when horny. Their artwork is suggestive but not explicit, while the sound effects (if you play with events on) are explicit.
...That's it for now. Technically more could be added with Succubi powers/dreams, but this is mostly about transformation over sexuality.

Wait, what? Was this something added to the latest update that I didn't play yet, or was there some major option that I missed?
Okay, when you click on the bottom info bar, it expands and gives you some options.
By default it's set to 'show none' but if you change that, when you hit 'Next Turn,' then camera will focus on characters taking actions for a second and play a sound effect (if one exists for that action).
The opposite is 'show all'. Don't click that, it'll show you what every character is doing every turn, including standing still doing nothing.
'Show Important' is the recommended setting, as it shows actual... you know, actions. The exception is Succubus Powers, Dreams, and Alarune Pheromones, which show just about every goddamn turn despite nothing of interest happening. I've held off flagging these for the dev to disable, since those are ripe for good sound effects, but they're also the reason I personally have switched back to 'Show None'.
...You can also toggle the big stop to show TFs on end turn and change how long the camera lingers on every action from those options, but those are less important.

So... these characters are originally from Umineko no naku koro ni.
...No? I don't see it, at least.
Plus, the characters here come from three distinct sources: House of Pandemonium, the Unity remake, and original content. I could buy the original being inspired from When the Seagulls Cry, but not all of them.

I feel like this should, y'know, be visible somewhere in the Settings menu. Apparently there are a lot of settings hidden in some rarely-used corner of the game screen and not in the menu specifically for settings.

I already pinged the dev to have the lower bar start open by default.
Better stuck open then stuck closed.

Is there a guide on how not to suck?
It's difficult for me to articulate what to actually do in a general sense, as a player who knows what they're doing can lock down the front garden with 12 beegirls set to kill anything that moves, which is technically unbeatable but so boring to do.
...I guess in general, set your Succubi to the Calm dream and post Katanashi in the dining room to keep a decent amount of people content so you can do whatever to them. Again, it's very easy to optimize the fun out of the game, and learning what strategies you like is the enjoyment here.

Can someone explain a few things for a noobie, please?
1) How do I make someone a Guard?
2) How do I make someone a Witch, and what do Witches do?
3) How do I make someone a Bunnygirl, and what do Bunnygirls do?
4) Is there a way to get rid of the real beegirl hives?

This a general gist I think of how to do it.
First you need to get enough contribution points, which you can get by exchanging a character (maids, succubus, allarune, controlled beegirl, traitors etc).
to exchange succubus and traitors, simply click on them then press exchange then they will go to a position to be sold off
to exchange others, first click the entrance yard then press organise pick up, then a time duration will pop up and now you have the option to exchange characters, the characters that will get picked up are characters u explicitly marked to exchange and is in the entrance yard (so you wont accidently exchange a random character wandering to entrance yard). you can box characters in stasis to exchange them (cost 5 power and needs to be moved to entrance yard)

Once you have enough contribution points (just 500 for all the maid upgrades), drag takanashi over a maid then a menu will pop up. Then choose "change form" then choose the form you want, takanashi and the maid will start a bit lengthy process in the ritual room afterwards

most of the information regarding what each upgrade do is in the manual, specifically "8. Maid Upgrades" in the gameplay section, tho to summarise each upgrade
  • guards have increased combat capability, with higher stat, ability to guard attacks from allies, and an extra "life" essentially
  • witches have increased magic and can do most things you can do with takanashi (reduce concern by magic, empower stats and changing forms) with the extra ability to teleport people and objects near them for 20 power and they can buff or debuff a stat by 3 on another character for a turn. You generally use witches as an extension of Takanashi so you can keep her safe on other rooms
  • bunny girls have increased social and can "entertain" (which are just distract but x3 as longer + increases arousal + roomwide effect), they also seem to have better chance at flirting and offering sex to visitors in general.

(4)
so far there does not seem like any way, i think the real beehives are an ingrained challenge, just like how the cops work. you cant exactly seem to change it through system settings other than how much pollen per bee it takes (setting it to a really high number basically turns the hive into a nonthreat)

Seems like a wave of new people are playing this. Cool, weird but cool. Anyways, this game, assuming you are playing the default settings (EtM mode), is hardest at the beginning. I wrote a guide, but I'll give the short version.

- You need more maids for more power income and stuff, at least four (cap).
- Best way early on to get maids is to trap clothing, drag a maid onto a sleeping characters clothes.
- You can order the maid to drop the trapped clothes in the laundry room, the guest will always go there first.
- New trainee when clothes are put on. Don't let people who know them see the trainee.
- Other maids can fix yellow status, either by guiding trainees or passively when set to training.
- One of two options, get your trainee maid in a locked room with a maid set to training, OR the better option, get your trainee into the master's room, the master can automatically train them and they don't normally leave.
- Wait for training to finish, congrats on your new maid.
- Now repeat the process, if you go over cap, send some maids to stasis, or offer them as contribution. I recommend paying attention to stats, and keeping the good ones, get rid of the rest.

Nothing major this time, I think...
Manor Alpha 21 Patch 1
Windows 64-bit -
Linux -
Mac -
+ Fixed some guide action strangeness, particularly characters moving when they should be being guided to stay in their current room
+ Restored fight action availability against unaware visitors/etc.
+ Hopefully fixed maids with stay orders and maids staying in their assigned rooms being shooed out
+ Cops now heal incapacitated characters while investigating
+ Fixed saving of some settings
+ Added some more leeway to cop leaving times
+ Added a tutorial when a group first attacks the manor
+ Fixed a crash in the tutorials
+ Greatly reduced increase in cop concerns if a character leaves without becoming aware
+ Fixed guards not being able to upgrade doors and made them a little faster at it

Manor Alpha 21 Patch 1
...
I was just about to make several complaints, but this patch pretty much addresses most of what I had issues with. I do wish the champions were handled a bit differently though.

- One of the issues is unavoidable major evidence collection. This pretty much always happens after she casts a scanning spell or what not. Cloud evidence is a thing, but it makes for a more dynamic game to interfere with the scan in the first place (and the ability already in the game to do that punishes you for failure, which discourages it).

- I'd like to see the master cast counterspells if she's free. Interviewing maids is one thing, but the master should actively and automatically be interfering with spells/wards/etc. that are being cast. These don't count for evidence, use power, have an option to turn them off, and if successful make the scan/ward/etc. give false readings.

- The master suite, with the master inside, should be protected from spells period. Its a place of power for the master, and even a champion shouldn't be able to waltz in there and start scanning things (like the identity mirror). If she does, she'll always get false readings and walk away from the room worse off evidence wise then when she went in.

- Doing particularly well, like a bunny maid with 20+ social score acing the champion's interview, should lower the evidence value, due to manipulation and confusion.

Remember magic is the master's whole thing. If a champion walks into the manor, she's on enemy ground, so all her scanning and warding and what not should be at a disadvantage. Right now it feels like I'M at a disadvantage magically. Non-magic activities like interviews or direct investigation of objects is fine (that's why you hide that precious ring when she shows up).

In exchange for all this, I wish teleports weren't an easy solution to ward off champions. Half of the accumulated champion points should be kept after a teleport, and those points are permanent until a champion is triggered.

Literally 23 hours later...
Manor Alpha 21 Patch 2
Windows 64-bit -
Linux -
Mac -
+ Fixed distract and tempt actions not being available on investigating champions
+ Fixed guards not being able to directly use door upgrade items
+ Hopefully fixed crashes in a couple of champion goals
+ Fixed inversion of some checks when characters leave that was causing unintended cop concern gains
+ Fixed characters not staying in rooms they are posted to when shooed if they have no goal
+ Fixed characters guiding trainees deciding on actions before the guided trainees decide their action and potentially become disobedient
+ Possibly fixed a crash sometimes occurring when champions are disoriented or similar conditions

...See, these are the kind of previews I don't like. Yeah, sure, it adds a couple new champions, but also has a bunch of QoL and bugfixes rolled into it. Whatever...
Manor Alpha 22 Preview 1
Windows 64-bit -
+ Added Kazuto's associated champion form, the dark elf noble Lyndis
-> Lyndis is a high rogue/medium magic/light social focused champion
-> Rogue champions have several abilities, some of which are used in new investigation goal variations
--> When fighting, medium or more rogue focus champions use the higher of their initiative or combat to fight
--> Highly rogue focused champions have a chance to avoid attacks when not engaging in fights (e.g. when trying to leave a room)
--> Medium or higher rogue focused champions can pick locks, gaining access to rooms they shouldn't
--> Medium or higher rogue focus champions hide fully from the player. This is used as an alternative in several monitoring goals, and highly rogue focused champions can search rooms, pick locks and do a few other actions while stealthed
---> A spell can be cast on a room to reveal stealthed characters (they will remain hidden, but be visible to the player for a few turns), and maids can search rooms to find characters (this breaks the stealth state)
---> If a stealthed character breaks stealth to attack they will have a combat bonus
--> Medium or higher rogue focus champions can steal items from other characters. Those with magic seeking capability will steal sought cursed items from visitors, and generally they will opportunistically steal from maids. Stolen items are easier to confiscate. Maximum rogue focused champions (Lyndis isn't one) will be able to pickpocket while stealthed
-> Medium or higher rogue focus champions will arrive carrying several observation bugs. These grant the champion sight of a room (as if they were present; they don't pick up magic that isn't visually obvious), helping them gather evidence. Those placed on maids can be destroyed directly (requires a roll to find), and those on visitors can be removed if the target is unconscious or if a maid/the master can convince the bugged character to submit to a patdown (this can fail on the patdown)
-> Low+ rogue focus champions with medium or higher magic focus can place observer marks on characters and rooms to similarly observer what happens. These marks can be directly erased without a power cost, or remotely erased with one
-> Medium+ rogue focus champions with a low+ magic focus will magically seek evidence items to check
-> Medium+ rogue focus champions will attempt to explore the entire manor while stealthed
-> Low+ rogue focus champions will monitor all surrounding rooms after setting up in rooms with many doors a few times to keep an eye on things
-> Medium magic or rogue focus champions will now check the library for unusual tomes. The librarian will try to interfere with this, but may fail
+ Magic champions now use their magic value to attack (but will use their combat value when attacked)
+ Fixed a rare case where a character would get stuck doing nothing when trying to collapse from exhaustion
+ Fixed some cases where champions would ask characters who are unconscious/etc. questions
+ Fixed confiscate action showing for sleeping characters, and possibly not showing for deeply sleeping characters
+ Entertain action should now stop if the target is no longer a visitor
+ Maids who are librarians or nurses who have a specific room set as their stay room will now station in it if it is a library/infirmary
+ Fixed maids and others who want to stay in a room but don't have a specific goal (e.g. librarians, nurses, those ordered to stay in a room) politely excusing themselves when someone starts having sex
+ Maids who proposition will now, if they desire to stay in the current room and it only has one exit, choose that room to have sex in
+ Fixed the search for staff to question goal not activating for champions with low/no magic focus
+ Added Talia's champion form, the elf noble
