Is there a shop in-game that sells merchandise? or Do I just have to beat up every red human icon I see on the map
You cannot buy merchandise. There are several ways to get a small amount of merch, but not a huge amount all at once.

The best way is passive income by setting NPCs as scavengers with amiable+ affection, 60+ survival, 60+ intelligence.

Otherwise:
-Steal from the assembly plant
-Fight humans (loot)
-Investigate area -> Scavenge area
-Various once-off quests; the quest given by the Redhaven magistrate gives a whopping... 2merch/day passively.

Is there a way to have people in my household automatically train in combat oriented skills or do I have to put them in my party and take them to the dojo myself?

Up to certain limits, assign them as guards and have a qualified captain assigned.
Certain Slave Masters will train the physical stats, discipline and weapon skills of slaves assigned to them.

Check wiki for requirements.

But a Captain of the Guard will also train the weapon skills and discipline of those assigned as Guards. However, I think there may be some kinda (unintentional?) limit to how many Guards can receive training. I've certainly noticed some slaves never improving if I have 7-8 guards assigned, and they start gaining skills once I remove a few.

Since the training cap is not mentioned in the wiki for guards, it's 80/80/80 for Melee/Ranged/Discipline. Make sure the captain and the guards are not in bondage when midnight hits. To be extra safe, make sure they are not actively in your followers group when midnight hits. Some gains are blocked by that, others aren't. Safer to just do it than remember which stat gains are blocked or are not blocked.

can someone make a mod to stop training failure, that shit is so retarded
A'ight, I forgot this because I asked for a public build start_game and got no response.

Anyway, I have a public start_game for 0836d so here:

I made the [Hire Trainer] option give 30 more roll bonus than normal and then increased the roll penalties for the training caps. So if there are unintended uncapped training in the normal html file, well, that is gone here. You can only train towards the intended caps as best as I understand it in this modded start_game. Hopefully there's no Nuclear Gandhi kind of exploit.

I did not. That's where I got that (and that post of mine was mostly for me because I did not want to download the full file once again to transition from c to d). I meant I asked for his start_game but he gave no reply so I had already forgotten his request by the time I got that.
Aha, Ok :)

anyways to get traits during campaing ? or are they only available at creation of MC ?
Traits that can be acquired during the game:
  • Dominus: obtained after you finished reading Sundered Minds (palace loot, Aria's Rebellion)
  • Master of Mares: obtained after you finished reading The Mare (palace loot, Aria's Rebellion)
  • Master of Ropes: these three master traits below can be gained by reaching certain stat thresholds ( )
  • Master of War
  • Master Tactician

@ Developer: GrimDark.
I attached a screenshot, i find the text hard to see, maybe something that could be improved?
And sometimes that info just fly by and not allowing me to see what did happen, can i suggest a summary at the end of the battle to see if any had improved skills, the damage dealt, soak absorbed and more?

Yeah, that's on the list - I'll make it so the last two actions are visible. I just have the rearrange the CCS first so it doesn't cut above the top line of fighters.

The game wiki hosts a few intro guides; they are out of date though. Once yours is polished (e.g. incorporating corrections from Clemency et al), it could go on the wiki too?
The only reason for a guide in the first place is, that the wiki is a mess to navigate and an astute lack of ingame tech to make that information accessible for players in the first place.

Without trying to diminish GD's work, the UI and the elements to transmit that info is right there. Its html and linking directly to a wiki paragraph isnt rocket science. Half the wiki is out of date in itself, as changes are not being made in the appropriate sections, but often are only found in the changelog entries.

And Clemency made comments, not corrections from my point of view. Aside from a single point, none of what he commented is of any use for a beginner.

So all in all: I see no actual reason , why the guide should end up in a wiki, that is the root of said guide to begin with. The time invested in the wiki would be better invested in some proper mouse-over info boxes ingame.

Which one?
  • Basic house upgrades to not lose stamina and NPC happiness?
  • $300 for the yard defenses level 1 to penalize escape attemps and upgrading your captain's room so he is not bleeding happiness?
  • Tuner and Valkyria being permanently missable?
  • Pantry girl being your very first homeschooling priority to reduce ration cost for every single NPC in the house by 1?
  • The basic pool ($7000 upgrade of a basic $15k Gazebo) so you can earn Affection +1 household-wide unconditionally + Happiness (via holding pool parties) so your janitors and maids don't hate you and increase disrepair in your house via sabotage?
  • Unassigning followers when midnight hits so they are included in midnight calculations?
  • Full House and Project Erebos taking days upon days upon days of training that is not worth the effort currently?
I think except for that last part, all of it are relevant to a new player. Even the $22k total pool is an investment into one of the best structures in the game. It's affection and happiness, household-wide (capped at Loving Affection and 100 Happiness) without any conditions attached except for actively holding the pool party itself (minor money cost and it needs to be held before 10pm). Especially for the male NPCs. You cannot fuck guys in your house. But you can hold pool parties (and arrange dinner events).

EDIT: To add for the pool, Truls overmatches most combat NPC options you have in the early game while costing $0 salary and he starts at Despising affection. Armand is tied for the best accountant in the game, he starts at a much higher Intelligence than Adrienne, and he has a propensity for leaving your house if he is unhappy (he is a servant; they can voluntarily leave your house in Conclude Day events). Cassius is hands down the best overall combat NPC in the game (at $0 salary no less) and he starts at Despising affection. Same deal with Aaron Kreuger, the best/second best melee combatant depending on his dice roll and training. Farming their affection slowly day by day is great. And the girls? Well, they have an aversion to putting their mouth or genitals anywhere near the same area code as your penis especially when your stats are low. Being able to passively farm their affection to Loving while you focus on one girl is very time efficient.
