Very unlikely, on discord the dev said probably and hopefully less than 3 weeks, unlikely before the end of the year though. This was around 3 days ago.

I think so.
It is very much understandable without having played the game, though it’s better if you have at least a small inkling of who the characters are to each other. The game tries to keep the characters as close to the original as possible, while still putting them in lewd situations. This is much more impactful if you know who they are, or how the Ace Attorney world works.
