Yup. Its fucking insane. They are clearly betting on most people subscribing maybe once a year and then cancelling. Why even have a subscription model to monetize their work then?? Its so fucking stupid and they deserve all the piracy they get, I dont even care if it makes them stop making games in the end because they fucked themselves over with how they choose to do business.
I would honestly have paid a reasonable price of maybe 5-10$ every month for continuos access to all their games and many others would too. That would earn them much more income that is also more stable than the very few rich people who are willing pay 30$ monthly and few others who maybe give them 1 month sub every 6 months.
In case devs reads this:
1 person willing to pay 30$ about once a year for only 1 month access just to go play all the new games and then cancel. That person would likely be more willing to pay only 5$ a month for permanent access instead. 5$ x 12 = 60$ Congratulations! You have just doubled your yearly income AND made a much better deal for the customer that is also affordable for many more customers! And people say you can’t have your cake and eat it too
