Ren'Py - Melatonin Magiks [Ch.4 v1.0 Public] [LaCokaGaming]

This game is great! It has a large selection of attractive girls, the story doesn't blueball the player without fair warning, the game doesn't dick around with the players time and put unnecessary roadblocks which delay the game, and the game doesn't punish you for 'bad' choices. Great title!

Tl;Dr- If you can power through the exttremely confusing first hour or so, you get one of the hottest games on this site if you're into depraved domination, dirty talk, or monster/cat/robot/tomboy childhood friends with a whole bunch of wholesome cutesy moments spliced in.


I felt compelled to write this review mainly because the opening is one of the most bizarre and feverish things I've ever seen on this site. The UI is a hot mess, everyone is talking in tumblr "hai hai XD baka" speak, and you're just dropped into an absolutely ludicrous story situation.

Supposedly, you were so sexually frustrated that you blacked out and blew up half the universe, so now God is sending the hottest girls in the galaxy to keep your dick in check. The first hour or so is a nonstop cavalcade of random monster girls showing up, telling you theyre gonna suck your dick, and you just being like "uhhhh ok". Honestly, it's almost worth downloading just to see how batshit this opening is.

It is a sandbox, I know many people just hate that shit on principle, but there's literally zero grind or stat stuff, it's just there so you can control what scene you want to see next, and the game lets you know exactly what you have to do if you've progressed too far with one girl and need to go to another.


BUT. If you read the description, you'll notice OP talking about his own learning curve, and man... is he underselling it.

First of all, despite how nonsensical and disjointed the story is at the start, the actual sex scenes are amazing from the very first scene, almost jarringly so. It has an incredibly unique system where you can choose what nickname you want each individual girl to call you, and they've each got one or two special nicknames (like daddy, master, son, etc) that unlock special extra kink scenes and dialogues, and let me tell you- this guy deserves a PULITZER for his dirty talk. It's insanely sexy and depraved, and I walked away from this game with 3 brand new fetishes that I used to hate just because the writing is... so.... good. This shit could be a text game and I'd probably still drown half a universe in my nut.

These sex scenes should carry you through the first few events or so, at which point you will notice rapid improvements in scene posing, set design, writing quality, clarity of events, even smoothly retconning previous nonsense to be a little easier to swallow. All of the characters are adorable, the MC is usually witty and able to banter with them, and the game even starts to include an engaging (if totally ridiculous) plot and a little lore. You are given frequent choices, and while only a couple of them substantially change the game, you will feel the impact of your decisions in dialogue and relationships.

It reminds me very much of Hero's Harem Guild or Corrupted Kingdoms. But HHG leans to the wholesome side, and CK leans to the rape mind control side. This game is thematically in the middle, all the girls and your relationships with them are romantic and wholesome, but they want you to do very unwholesome things to them.


The sex scenes also massively improve in quality, every scene has at least one choice or variation from the get go, and once you hit Chapter 2, most scenes let you choose all of your character's individual dialogue, positions, etc. The game starts out with your usual koikatsu animations intermixed with plenty of very well posed stills (no scenes are as quick as position 1, 2, cum, they are all very involved), but eventually incorporates genuinely impressive custom animations. There's a huge variety of fetishes here as well, of course all optional.

The fetishes here all lean towards maledom content, there are a few scenes that are clearly marked FEMDOM, but pretty much every girl in this galaxy loves being headpatted in the streets and hooked up to a chemically-induced orgasm rape-machine fuckbot in the sheets. There is some very light unavoidable lesbian content, but as someone who feverishly despises lesbian shit in my porn games, let me tell you there was a point where I was willingly encouraging it because their dynamic with you involved is so hot, and the writing carries it quite far. Trust me when I say it's quite a feat.


Anyways, I'm rambling, but I just wanted to make it clear for anyone who wants a fantastic harem game power fantasy with cute girls that love you and also love being skullfucked into oblivion, I heavily recommend you stick with the extremely confusing start and just give it a chance, because it will very quickly reveal itself to be one of the most polished, content-rich, interactive, and funny games that are on this website.

If I had any advice for OP, it would be to remaster that intro, since at least for me, it was so confusing that I put it down twice (but god am I glad I came back.)

The girls are very cute and each has a unique style

Each scene has 3 dialog variations depending on what you want the girl to call you. There is a default generic one. Then there is one for if you want her to call you master. And finally there is daddy. although 2 girls have son instead of daddy for a different kind of roleplay. A nice touch, also this works regardless of capitalization so "daddy" and "Daddy" have the same dialog just with the capitalization preference of your choice.

Dev calls it a "one penis game", we need a tag for this because this is wonderful
There is no sharing of your girls with other men, there is no "your character is a pathetic loser who masturbates while watching a real man fuck a woman".

High quality game: girls are cute, dialogues are very lewd, you can choose how the girls call you with special dialogues if you write “Daddy” or “Master” (and that should be the new standard), the countless sex scenes are very well-made, highly erotic and various; in summary, all the adult-content is top-notch!

The only thing I don’t like is the story: I don’t get it. Demons, dreamworld, armors, fights, aliens, spaceships…An infamous mix, without a doubt results of feverish dreams of a drug addict violently in need.

Still, five stars because every time I started the game, I planned for a two hours gaming session but ended up with my pants down my knees after 10 minutes…that’s saying something!

lovely game! feel like the updates were longer in the past, with more events per girl, but hopefully that changes when the creator gets more subs. girls are nice to look at, a lot of lewd content. I liked the scenes with Pyrka and Ona the most, hope Pyrka comes back again! my fave part is probably the nickname system. wonder if there'll be more girls introduced in the future? also, hope that the navigation UI changes, it's not super fun to use lol

The chapters develop off each other and flow perfectly remembering choices and differing some dialog depending on what you do. I enjoy the choices as well as the indepth character development given to each character as you progress each part of their story and personal moments. I made this comment in the thread, but in the deeper moments learning about the characters I honestly forgot this was a h game with how well its written and I have ready many books and stories and dropped them for that reason. I honestly look forward to the updates. Keep up the good work!

This dev has mastered pacing.
This is a game that wastes no time in delivering high quality porn. There is no grind. Every interaction leads to a unique sex scene. It never feels repetitive. Sometimes it will lead into it with an action scene that mixes things up without getting in the way.
The game avoids exposition dumps and delivers its setting naturally as you go along.

Also the music is great. I definitely recommend playing this one with the sound on.

A really fun game, lots of girls and lots of dirty talk. Really like the way the game allows you to choose how certain girls address you and talk during sex. Models are varied and pretty nice looking. I had some issues with animations hanging and stuff early on but i think the dev has fixed those problems. The plot is out there, like way out there but that's kinda the point. If you can let go and have fun with a wacky plot that has some humor, sweetness and lots of dirty talking sluts then this game is highly recommended

You, sir, have greatly surpassed my expectations in just chapter one! As I currently download Chapter 2, I would just like to say that the monstrosity you have created is of high quality and I can see that you have put a lot of work and love into it. This game is a quality of life improvement away from being great.
It's light heart, don't take any of this too seriously type of game. This game does however need to fix it's UI and make the transition between shots smoother. You can still see for a split second the previous still image before the animations plays. The navigation UI when going outside could be better. Rather then clicking on map icon and then click again on the go outside option, just let me make one click and show me the options for where to go.

Visually is very very good, deformations are good, girls still look like girls bending over and stuff. Thre are girls for every taste (or close enough i guess). This part being what it is, it is outstanding, and for me it deserves the rating i give.
The bad part is that there is no character arcss whatsssoever and scenes are just so free and easy, thye are like short porn clips. If the specific stuff in the game is what floats your boat, you will be blessed, if its not, go watch cosplay porn, its the same thing, just better.

I'm still in chapter 1, but i already love the characters, humour, story (it's a bit confusing and random at first tho) and art/scenes.

The only major flaw i can think of is how chaotic is the beggining, but other than that no major complains, if I played it before i would also mention the size - 6GB for chapter 1, what a joke - but it was already fixed for chapter 2, while chapter 1 have compressed version so it's fine i guess.

As for minor issues, it's a bit annoying that i have to reload and select other options to see different scenes in some events, not sure if it got changed in chapter 2, if so i will update that part of the review later.

Overall 9/10, really good game that i could recommend anyone.

This game is very good quality, the visuals are fantastic and there is a soundtrack so it gives the game more personality; the songs that are used are quite catchy. I experienced a little bit of lag on animations but I'm assuming that's because I'm playing on a laptop which isn't really designed for games, other than that I've found no issues. It has quite a lot of fun features too and there are a lot of different girls to choose from, and it's been a good experience so far.

kinda crazy that it took all this time for someone to realize that the key to a successful erotic visual novel is to have a bunch of cute anime girls call you "daddy" during lewd scenes ; absolutely love this VN, if/when the CPU usage issues get sorted out, this game is gonna absolutely take off (I had some issues while running WINE on my mac with CH1, but switching to the MacOS version of the game for Ch2 gave me zero issues)

while the story may not be "A Tale of Two Cities 2", it doesn't have to be, you know what you're here for... and Cokane0 absolutely delivers on the lewd content; characters will have different dialogue depending on the lewd nickname you want them to call you, a wide and diverse cast of characters and fetishes (hopefully more in the future), and a pretty loose, comedic atmosphere is present throughout

excited to see future development of this game and to see what happens from here on out! I highly recommend that @Cokane0 considers changing the summary of the game (think the large amount of "Woah"s are gonna turn away some would-be players) and the banner (probably to the classic "5 girls from a VN standing next to each other" that's so popular nowadays), I think they'll get way more eyeballs on the game and patrons in the sub box (also, maybe get a subscribestar?)

For a new Game Developer to drop a 6gb content at 1 go. It is rare. The erotic scenes are great too. The music is chill, but you know what is the most interesting? The Dialogues, the imagination of the writer is out of this world, literally.

I really wanted to like this game, maybe because of the Bill and Ted vibe of the overview, maybe because the dev seems like a nice guy who engages with the thread here...
I just can't bring myself to liking it though, and I can't fathom under the effects of what sort of drugs some of the other reviews were written ...

the music is very loud, but that can be adjusted.
It doesn't really add anything to the game.

the plot is.. I can't tell what the plot is, it's so random. (actually that does smell of Bill and Ted, a bit.). I can't honestly understand the high praise the plot is getting..because it's barely there, and barely acts as a go between for sex scenes that don't have a reason to be in any particular order other than for the fact that one character tells you that to get it on with her you need to talk to another, as far as I can tell unrelated, character.

I am not a fan of the anime style, and if I were, I would probably still say this isn't super high quality.
Animations are rather basic.


On the plus side, there is a lot of content, but it sort of blends together with very little variation.

There are games where I skip the dialogue to get to the amazing sex scenes and great renderings..other games I focus on the dialogues and the plot, and I will forgive (and even skip) less than good scenes if the plot engages me. this time, I didn't know what not to skip, after a while. After having quite a hard time downloading it (it's hefty, but the issues were on my end, not a fault of the dev), I really was hoping for a better game.

This looks to be a very promising game. The dialog writing in this game is outstanding. I don't think I have ever seen a more skilled dev when it comes to dialog writing. I really like the content of the scenes in animations they really look like they have been very thoughtfully chosen as far as I can see. I really love the game in general and would highly recommend it to others. Even though there are some elements that are rough around the edges, the positives in this game far overshadow any minor flaws, especially considering that this is a first release. This is a great game and I am looking forward to seeing it develop further.

- Fun to play through
- Okish length for a first release ( took me maybe 10 hours or so to play through it but im a slow reader so probably shorter for most people )
- Nice graphics

Cons:
- The sex scenes feel way to packed together with not enough story in between them. it feels like almost every event you do results in some kind of scene happening ( maybe that's just me a complaint )
- Only seems to cover a few fetishes and stuff ( maybe just me again but the more the better because then there is something for everyone )
- A bit buggy with some of the menu stuff when u click something and it like clicks on something behind where u clicked or something. Main example would be in the about girls screen ( or what ever it is ) when u are in the about for one girl if u click somewhere else where another girls thing was to go to the about to them it will switch to them like its just a pop up over the screen and u can still interact with the stuff behind it

I have no idea what the fuck I stumbled upon, but its a masterpiece in the making. Its like Adonis and Aphrodite devolving into a mass of sweat and meat in front of you; you aren't quite sure why its happening, but damn is it still sexy.
Example, I'm currently the dom daddy to a vampire and an elf, and a petite goth-ish demigod is swapping places with me once I've thoroughly staked that ass. This is after I was in space, killing hostile insect predators with a runeblade while wearing a lion helmet. Also I think I soul raped someone into a higher state of being.
