If you are playing v0.2.1, note that you can't promote at your will. You have to fulfill some requirements like having gone to work a number of times and having met a number of girls. By the current number of girls implemented so far, you can only get two job promotions. Once you fulfill the requirements, you will get a notification at your room. If you met all the girls so far, just keep going to work and eventually you will get it.

Man thank you so much!
By the way, Great job on this. I am entertained and (cough) entertained!
I was going nuts trying to figure out how to get promoted!
Best of luck!

In order to enable the console you need to modify a script. I'd like my players to be legit at my games so I won't be the one to tell you how :p
Fair point as it is your game!
For the guys who doesn't know howto, google and you find out ;-)
be creative I gave already the hint how to search.

so stubborn! doesnot want people like me to have not-so-melodic dates

if seriously... allowing to skip mini-games is not an uncommon practice... plus there are always people who would want to skip such games or other "grindy" activities ... here i assume it would be impossible (as it is not something like tweaking some corruption-alike npc properties)

...are you concerned that people who are now playing the game (and thus mini-games) would opt for no-minigame option had such option existed. some may do that. others will continue playing it in an original manner. plus people like me could join. after all, I just cannot see any disadvantaged group.

I mean, you're not the first one to ask me that and I understand your position. I myself allow to skip the mini games in my other game, Clockwork Poison, but there's a huge different: Clockwork Poison is more of a visual novel, while Melodic Dates is a dating sim. You won't find ANY dating sim that allows players to skip the mini games and that's because they're inherent to the genre. Without mini games, a dating sim would be like a weird kind of creepy detective game, trying to get info about girls without the feeling of progression...

Keep in mind that you have three levels of difficulty and you can choose the beginner difficulty if you think it's too hard.

cannot organize my thoughts...so more like a free flow
my divide downloaded sandboxes to (a) trainers/pickers/harems/datesims and (b) others, any classic sandboxes (but if there is a male MC - id probably could technically call it a datesim as well, but narrative or quest based. )

i dont play (a) much so i have no examples of the contrary ( if any )
* just launching and if possible - quick toying with props and hence unlocking lewd options-actions etc. however i dont remember encountering mini-games.
...
but lets say there is none of those. irregardless, it is hard for me to process this because most (all?) games have some sort of task/condition, so it can be a quest ( buy and bring something etc) , or some grind (raise your stats, visit some place n times), or loc/time-management (visit that npc at x time at y place & with grind: interact N times to raise corruption+N ) or the correct sequence of answers (such might be be closer to VN with some sandbox interface)... or some mini-game...

upon completion u get some progress (and scenes) .

so my point is that players often have an oppotunity to 'cheat' to get the progress (with variables tweaks, or ingame cheats, or some modes) . and if they loose some experience - it is on them.

...
generally i can understand the logic of something being inherent, lets say, classic sandboxes where you need to get through certain sequence of events. if u manage to get rid of this - u will loose the content, the story, the adventure, the build up, if u cheat hard - u may fail completely with not unlocking some items, npcs, interactions...

but i cannot find the same to be true for mini-games in a datesim (i dont know what types do u have, i saw only pick 2 similar pictures)... that minigame (or any alike minigames) looks like a pre-requisite or condition or like ...a game within a game...

meaning, irrelevant if you incorporate something close to the musical premise like guitar-hero, or something else like blackjack, or tetris, or pacman - there is still a 'core' content (interactions with npcs) after that mini-game, right?

so for me "play and win" to be able to interact with NPC is similar to "raise your strength in gym to 20" to be able <...>
definitely i can cheat&tweak my stat in some renpy game, but i cannot (cheat&skip) act under the assumption that i win in this case

I was sure, that i will play gamw similar to Clockwork Posion. But i wasn't ready to see suich progress. Nice graphic, very semplice UI, nice subtitles and tasteful feeling of the whole game. Seriously it is such good. Next thing are clips. One they have better quality, and some times lower quality. Saves are interesting thing. Many infos we can see after making one. I hope that this will be next successful project;)

I repeat: I understand your position and the more I read you, the more I think you're right. I'm the first one who look for cheats when I play sandbox visual novels and I'm definitely going to allow mini games in the Clockwork Poison sequel to be skipped.

But now imagine HuniePop without the mini game. Can you? Good for you, because I can't. Believe me, I totally get your point and I know players often have an opportunity to cheat, but in Melodic Dates (or other dating sims), if any, the way of cheating shouldn't be skipping the mini games. That's what I think.

That being said, thank you so much for the feedback! Melodic Dates is not my last game, after all.
