You do see the inconsistency in your back-to-back posts, right? The text states clearly that the MC is probably at least 40 and that Melody is exactly 19 and in college. But when I play, the MC
feels younger than that, while I feel it's perfectly believable that Melody is 19. You feel the opposite: to you, clearly the MC is older, and Melody is a minor,
despite what the text tells us. The events and context and storytelling allow the reader/player to project all manner of attributes to the characters in the story. There's no right or wrong answer here, and telling someone to "understand that she's really a minor!!" is arguing an opinion, not a fact. I feel like I'm playing a game where the MC is late 20s/early 30s and falling in love with a 19-year old college freshman. You seem to be saying that you're playing a game where the MC is mid/late 40s perving on a "minor" of 16-17. It's a matter of perception. Which is awesome!
About the MC, you are correct and I was wrong, as I realized when re-reading chapter 1 at your polite request: While the MC's age is never stated, his HS/college friend has a son who is just starting college, so that means the MC is most likely mid-40s. I missed that during my first playthrough (or forgot about it during my subsequent playthroughs). But Brittany (the ex-girlfriend) looks a LOT younger than 40--late 20s/early 30s given her appearance (in my opinion!! others may disagree). Plus, the narrative of being engaged to a long-time sweetheart is a 20-something story, not a 40-something story. If you ignore the "facts" about their ages, the story plays out as if the MC is late 20s/early 30s given his tastes in music, movies, and how the various women react to him. In other words, despite what the text tells you, it
feels like the MC is younger, at least to me. My original main point was that I don't feel that the MC's relationship with Melody is a 40+ something man perving on a teenager over whom he holds the upper hand in a power dynamic. It's the story of a more experienced man falling in love with a less-experienced woman who
craves experience and bonds with an older man who can show her through the looking glass. Also, you know, lust. That's hot!!
As for Melody, the text of the story literally states that Melody is 19 and in college. But if you
feel like the story is constructed in a way where she is younger, I can see it. You're not tilting at windmills here; I do see your point! But if you want to argue that MrDots is
really telling some perverted story about a 16-year old being groomed and conditioned by a 40-something year old teacher... okay...? So?

It seems you're trying to argue that we're being sheeple because we don't "understand" that this is really a story of an older man having sex with a "minor." Let's for a moment ignore the fact that over 75% of the world's population lives in jurisdictions where sexual contact with a 16-year-old young woman is perfectly legal (if not expected), which means that by definition this is not "perverted" but actually a normalized expression of human sexual behavior.
