I get what you’re saying, but don’t worry, this update isn’t all about Nicole’s POV. It’s just a small addition to spice up the story and help define some of the path divergences. The main focus is still on the usual progression.
But the whole premise of the story was about the MC and his memories. Playing as her changes things completely It's basically a new game.
Maybe the parts you play as Nicole are just the ones MC imagines based on what he’s heard from her.

If the dev wants to, he can easily make it optional later, and ya can just hit the skip button whenever ya feel like skippin' it, no biggie!
It's not the point the premise of the whole story is about a guy thinking of his past how does controlling Nicole fit in with that? He can't read her mind or anything.I'm totally with ya!

It's not optional, I already said that. Sure I can ctrl skip, but it still drastically changes the whole premise.
I absolutely love the FMC's POV as well , you've definitely pointed out an excellent game
This is akin to forcing NTR on the NTRS or faithful paths. I asked on Patreon if it would be avoidable; dev said no. So it's forced on everyone. Holding down CTRL is not a good solution. Only an absolute nugget would believe that.
