JXL = JPEG XL, the successor to jpg/jpeg. It's jpg but better (but also with less support since it's newer)

Yes, I understand that it is JPEG XL, but I just don't understand why they would go to the trouble of compressing the original file and releasing it in that state.
Moreover, it is compressed further into zip
Oh, I see how odd that is now you point it out, especially since there's no originals provided as well. Although, it seems to be lossless JXL so while it's not the original file it'd be visually the same (would personally still prefer the original though)
