A game that goes from A to Z by - potentially - passing every letter of the alphabet is a game with no structure or form. How can a developper keep patreons interested if he's denaturing his game by answering everyone's need ?

What you are yearning for, with your "win-win" situation, are games without coherent narration. Those games that stay as unfinished products because their authors meddled with every groups' wishes to the point where every patreons began to despise their games.

It's like in real life : you're not looking for a race car to equip it with a trailer. Same with people : you never like people with no opinions, who follows everyone.
To be honest, I think the only reason you're so indignant is NTR specifically.

I didn't talk about NTR. And I didn't even talk about this game specifically in my answer.

It was about the process of making games trying to please everyone - with polls, add-ons, events , what-ifs when the game is still working ; remake, rewrite, re-whatever when everything is crumbling down.

This logic is absurd because the possibilities are infinite. There is no happy end with those games.

Any complex project, especially one created by a small team, cannot exist in a vacuum, ignoring the interest of its audience.
Like any artist, I am a narcissist. It is important for me that people admire the result of my work. Because I create not for myself, but for people, but what I personally like. And if I'm interested in newfangled trends in a genre that I like (for example, NTR), it means that I study the mood of the players. You need to always feel your audience, analyze trends and correctly integrate new chips if they are in demand.

I'm not creating a niche project for two aesthetes. I want to create a cool erotic sandbox. I like to satisfy the needs of the majority, because I consider myself one of them.

Many authors make original projects, but get burned, ignoring criticism. I don't want my game to disappear halfway through development because "I'm kind of the smartest."

A couple of years ago I did the Sweet F. Cake project. Later, I was contacted by a publisher who saw potential in me. He was playing a game and smashed it to pieces. I rewrote almost the entire game again. More than 300 pages. And it saved our game. We have "Very positive reviews" on Steam. If I had left everything as it is, then most likely it would have been a huge failure. I look at my old, original plot and wonder how I came up with such stupidity?
Now I have the experience. And Milf's Plaza has so far avoided all the mistakes I made in the previous project.

First, you are taking things way to literally. Letters are just an example, you don't need to go from a to z, that's a construct of the alphabet, not of storytelling, which is what this analogy is about.

Replace the letters with this. His vision is Story 1 - Story 2 - Story 3 - Ending. If he adds some bonus content inbetween his story beats, that he controls anyway because he's the one putting up the votes, and fans are more invested because they have an impact and therefor contribute financially more, again, Win-win.

I'm not saying what you are saying is never true, but it's a big generalization. Yes, some peoples dont have a vision and they make polls, but it's not because you make polls that you necessarily have no vision.

More than that, I took your logic into its most absurd iteration (you call it generalization) because, in my opinion, it is the only issue there can be : going into Story 1 - Story 2 - Story 3... you'll never get over it and you'll only create insatisfaction - that you'll try to appease with Story 4 - Story 5 - Story 6...

Author may have an global idea of his story. But meddling too much with its community, there'll be no story no more.

Don't get offended by what I'm about to say : I don't think you're an artist and I don't think you should see yourself as an artist. I'm not saying you're not because you're making a porn game. But you said it yourself : you run a project and your aim is to get it to work by following trends ; you want to please to the majority and get good reviews ; you're trying to make something "cool". I'm not saying this is bad thinking. But it is not artistry to me - even if today, everyone think he is an artist because he's creating something. You're a project manager, a drawer, a writer... anything you do on this project. But artist is out of the definition - mine at least.

You'll have to make an undefinited number of adjustments ; and not just on what will be done, but also on what is already done. The rest of the process I've already written about it earlier.

I didn't play your previous game and played the current by CTRLing because I was only interested in your drawings. Bear in mind that I wasn't focusing my earlier posts on your game but on how some people develop their game.

Yes, you didn't talk about it. But your persistence in venting your pain about the game you "played the current by CTRLing" indicates that it is perceived as a personal insult. And it's all too typical a story, after all.

A lot of creators proved that it is possible to have a vision, while also including their community's requests in there to spruce up the sells/patreons. It's all about balance.

You complain about generalization, let's be specific then: we're talking about an unfinished game ; judged on updates published on a relative regular basis ; paid on a monthly subscription. Let's be real: the objective isn't about finishing games. The author want to maximize his income by making the game development last and open his narration with various themes (for example, creating multiple paths for specific kinks) to gather multiple types of players. That would be the logic - and again, I have no moral views against it.

The balance you are talking about is an undefinite run behind trends and group's desideratas. This is the logic you fail to see.
And you're right: I'm done talking to people who can't have a logical discussion, who prefers to talk about rubbish things like personal emotions against a kink or experiences to failed games.
