Many factors,
not enough support
holidays and time delays
art needs more work/time
our update schedule current is 4-5 times a year which is way more than other games that produce less quality. Some other games with thousand of supporters get updated maybe once a year. So if we take a month longer than normal then it is not long.

We all want updates constantly.
In my deviant perfect world great games would update weekly.
But obviously that's not reality.

I can only imagine what goes into making an update.
The art. The plotting. The writing. The tech. The testing.
Not to mention just living your real world life in between.
