But the real question is: if someone is not interested in something that a certain game offers, why comment on something that is not appreciated and worse still with insistence? The memory scene of the female actor having sex with another guy isn't NTR, but the question is - why is it being explicitly shown in the game.
If like 99% of the players are males, they identify with the male actors of the ongoing plot they are part of, so the sex scenes involving other male actors not under player control inevitably produce anger among most of the players. This is why many people feel the same about this just like it was an NTR game.
Unless the game is specifically aimed at people with a voyeur fetish, who picture themselves as non-involved observers, peeping through an imaginary keyhole while jerking off. But then there's the question, why would the player in a voyeur game have to control the actors. Because that wouldn't be comfortable for the passive voyeur players either.
Maybe the reason is because some people (unconsciously) are terrified of becoming cuckolds (in the case of NTR games or with betrayal and this game concerns the latter topic) and if they feel terrified deep down their unknown conscience they, potentially, are.
Games in this environment have no connection with reality (at least for normal people) and from my point of view, following a game, a film or something similar (whether it is porn or not) can only be a moment of healthy escape if it is valued for what it can generally represent (pure and unreal fiction in the case in question) and lived with serenity.
An artist in any environment will never be able to please any type of audience.
