Milky Quest is a minimalist game centered around a single mechanic in every battle. Its primary appeal lies in the charming pixel art and high-quality animations, which are undeniably adorable. The gameplay involves traveling to various locations and battling anime girls to collect their ingredients. However, beyond this premise, there isn’t much depth to the game. The core issue is the overly simplistic battle system focused on one attack versus one attack which turns progression into an endurance test based on how much experience you grinded on that level. Advancing through stages requires extensive repetition, and the monotony only escalates as each new stage demands replaying and grinding through levels again. While the animations are fantastic for its size, the repetitive nature of the gameplay undermines the overall experience. The simplistic game also lacks any form of system options and all the scenes are pretty much the same vanilla content, with very few variations of what the protagonist performs with the girls. Sadly this game does not offer what it intended to in a decent manner, reducing its charm.
