  • Little content (100-160 minutes of gameplay)
  • There is grind. A lot.
  • There are paywalls (that's a free-to-play game)
  • It is still a demo version
I appreciate the honesty, but wow that's sum red flags.

Why does this simple HTML game cause my Firefox NoScript extension to pay so much attention to it?

It takes three to four seconds to resolve each page.

How is this description supposed to entice subscribers? It says absolutely nothing about the content. When I played the first version, I was considering subscribing, but I'm not buying a pig in a poke, and you're hiding all this information behind a paywall.

Hi there!

I totally understand your concern. Just to clarify: each quest comes with a free demo that usually includes around 25–30% of the full content, so you can get a solid feel for the story, tone, and style before deciding whether to support. All media files (images, audio, video) are included as well, so you're welcome to view them even without subscribing.

The full version of the quest is indeed behind a paywall, yet my aim is never to make anyone feel like they're buying blind.
You can play a bit, and if you enjoy it, you're welcome to support the project.

Thanks again, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring the demos!

Hey!
Good question.
The game runs a lot of JavaScript behind the scenes to handle animations, logic, and media, so it can be pretty demanding on the browser. Because of that, NoScript might flag it or give extra warnings, especially on lower-end machines.

Thanks for checking it out!

The lag is unacceptable. I get that it's "doing a lot in the background" but this is an early version of the game, supposedly. The later versions are, presumably, going to ADD to the complexity, which will make it more laggy. Given that it is already taking multiple seconds just to move from area to area....well, it is already basically unplayable, and will only get worse over time.

Some laptops can run GTA 5, while others cannot. But that's not the problem of GTA 5.
The game heavy and is going to be heavier.
I recommend to skip the game if your PC is not powerful enough.

My dude, I have a desktop, with a 5800x, a 3080, and 32 gigs of ram. If my computer is taking many seconds per page load, your game is badly made. Either you are mining some currency in the background, doing something else shady, or you need to go back to the drawing board. Any way it goes, I am going to have to say this game is a no go, since you wont even acknowledge that there is a problem. Good luck with your steaming pile.

You're making an HTML game in twine... We are far from GTA 5 here.

Sorry to say that your game is doomed to failure if you don't take the criticism and work on finding a solution.

Going around basically saying "I'm not the problem, you are!" is not a solution.

Like a great philosopher once said: "If everyone around you is crazy... It's probably not everyone, just you."

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes: complex systems, mechanics, and tracking and it’s still closer to a demo version.
Not many games are that comlicated like this one. Because of that, it can be pretty demanding, especially on weaker PCs.
This is a concerning reply because it reveals that the developer is not a programmer and doesn't understand how computers work. There is absolutely nothing going on at all in a HTML game that should challenge any even semi-modern computer.
