Finished game, just play and enjoy it, u can complete game and gallery in less than 2 hours, just follow shrine's instructions and press S to skip dialogues. Here's a map with dragon statue locations

How linear is the game? Can we at least choose the order of some events?

It's pretty much a VN, you can move around the map to the next event, but that's about it. There was very little in the way or varying the steps in the original. While this is a cool game, it doesn't really need a replay.
