RPGM - Completed - Mirage's Defection [v1.04] [chimaLABO]

If you are looking for a quick fap-material this is not the right place.

(+) beautiful entrances of the main female character during the gameplay;
(+) interesting plot idea and good execution of it;
(+) coolly thought out, and coolly detailed main characters;
(+) sexy heroine, on the one hand we get a sharp but in relation to our character mega sweet personality;
(+) it's very easy to get into the atmosphere of the game, not only through the music but also through the structure of the game itself;

( - / +) nice erotic scenes, but I think that for a game of this caliber, there are a little too few of them.
( - / +) very nice artwork, but it's a bit of a pity that the game from 2024 does not have animation

I think that the game quite universal - however, there is no denying that it is, however, a treat for fans of NTR. Certainly not those who are looking for a quick game because the game is, contrary to appearances (as long as you read everything and so on), rather long and it rocks rather late in the game.

It's a title for people who are looking for an intriguing - cool story in the NTR aspect.

Yeah, this game makes into the "masterpiece" list I have in my head. Story, characters, and even gameplay to some extent, it has all well put together into a cohesive structure that suspends disbelief and messes with your emotions, from the beginning until the end. And if by any chance you have a taste in any way close to me, it might as well mess with your heart, as you see yourself being corrupted together with the MC. I'm sure you'll love the main antagonist.

On the other hand, we don't have anything endearing about the male antagonist. That's one bad point about the game. I don't remember that little thing's name, so if you're the type who enjoys a more fleshed out "bull" for the main FMC, you may find yourself disappointed.

It's also slightly disappointing that Kotori didn't get much involvement and if I'm not mistaken, there isn't a single H-scene between her and the MC. I can see some of you sighing that they did the "best girl"(Kurone actually) dirty. She's quite endearing after all

Some characters from previous games make an appearance, but as it is to be expected it's not the main focus here. Not much eye candy associated with it too.

I'm surprised that the side characters got some fleshing out, but don't expect too much. Still, you'll enjoy some bits here and there.

And the main character. People have already talked but this, but I think that his biggest shining point is not in how he grows as a character throughout the game, but in how he stays consistent and true to his character(forget the paradise ending. Pretend it doesn't exist). From the beginning until the end, Leo is the same Leo and I never saw him do anything that felt out of character. This is so rare nowadays for main characters that I feel like crying tears of joy.

H scenes are not much, but the little there is has a ton of build-up and the build up is GOOD. I assure you. I've seen games with better art be way less exciting than this one. You won't be disappointed.

Some of the other bad points already walked through down here, like the fact your choices feel quite meaningless in the beginning, because you can just branch it out whichever way later.

Incredibly well done game, Nice story! I Liked how the game progresses and its nice to have a sequel of a game. The art is nice and the ntr part is good as well. Managed to get the true ending without following guides, so its a + for me

I won't say much about the story since it's definitely the best part of this game but it definitely is the best NTR game i've played story wise and a big step up from their last game. the game only has one big downside: The H scenes aren't very good at all and there isn't that many compared to similar games of the genre. Just a warning since this game is 70% story and 20% H scenes but the story was so fun and entertaining that it got me to stay. Also loved how the protagonist wasn't a complete wimp but still wimpy enough and i actually enjoyed some of his character devolvement. Hopefully chima's next game in this universe goes 50/50 on H scenes AND story so they can make a truly perfect NTR game. Only problem i have with this game outside of the low quality Cg's is the game holds your hand a lot and it let's you choose a NTR route regardless of how you acted until that point, Kind of makes the corruption and your actions up until that point feel useless. TLDR: This is basically a story game isn't good if you're here for a quick fap. A shame too since Luna has the best design out of chima's works so far.

I love this game, as a sucker for Ntr games that have some form of redemption/pure ending this game had me invested.
So lets talk about the main parts of the game

(Review is full of spoilers so its better to check other reviews if you don't want spoilers!)

Also many complaints are about the gameplay which all I have to say is, this a basically a story game. If you don't like reading for 90% of the time and walking around then your not gonna like Mirage. (Though you are missing out on a amazing story if you do skip)
Anyways back to the review.

1. NTR
The Ntr is quite slow and required a lot of build up. The main Heroine Luna is the main target of Ntr and scenes with her really only start around Ep 3. Most side characters like Kotori (Knight girl) & Kurone (Mage girl) will have unavoiable sex scenes so don't expect to be able to do much about them. (You'll know why if you play the game.)
Just like the creators previous game this is a double reverse ntr game, you can also ntr the main girl. Luna the main girl is in one of the typical, I have to do this for him kind of scenarios and Mc is being seduced by another girl with a form of mental magic. Both games by Chima are very heavily story based so if you really want to get into the game you should never skip lines. They all have meaning. The game indicates this multiple times so if your not trying to get Ntred or get the pure ending, you will have to pay semi attention. The game helps a lot in guiding you.

Gameplay
Well, pretty much non existent, you will not being fighting any monsters. Instead you will have to just spend most of your time walking around and searching for characters. As this game mostly focues on its story rather then gameplay.
The map system is convenient though walking around can be quite tedious.
Mp is a important part of the game as well.
Many people struggle to manage it from what I've seen so heres how I did it. The only time I ever managed Mana was when I aimed for the True ending, which I got without having to rely on Kurone.

To manage Mana you should mostly rely on getting mana on days your not forced to make a barrier, you get a few so make sure to visit the cafeteria in the afternoon. Its a guranteed 15+ mana without in consequences or time skips. Only rely on Luna when you are around 20 to 30 mana. Having 40+ is more then enough and also make sure to manage Luna's mana as well. Give her days to recover as her scenes with the Devil will take mana from her.
I cleared the true ending without using Kurone even once for mana so Im not sure if you should but if its necessary then shes the last resort.
Just make sure to visit the cafeteria every afternoon.
It has the same corruption system as Rift but a seperate section to see what actions Luna has done, its a easy way to see if you've made a mistake or not.
Also make sure to make many many saves as certain choices will lead to different ending paths.

Sex Scenes/Cgs
The scenes/cgs were definetly the biggest let downs in the game. Many of the scenes were just resused images with different dialogue which can definetly break the immersion for many players. This was probably the biggest complaint said by most players in both Rift and Mirage so I hope Chima can find someway to fix it. Personally I still liked the scenes but I can see why people were unsatisified espicially for the full corruption scenes.

Story
I love the story of Mirage defection, we get a good look into Leo the mc and why he isn't confident in himself despite being from such a prominent family. The story shows how he comes to find confidence in himself while being able to rely on his close companions. He learns of his trauma and is able to move past it and is finally able to confront the actual issue of the game. His response to Luna's love and Kurones corruption is just a cherry on top.
Espicially Kurone as we learned in rift that the main Villain (Sadi) manipulates women into loving him yet Mirage showed not only can they still be emotionally affected despite the manipulation. But that mirage as a ability can somewhat nullify / restore memories , similar to Hayato's divine protection. With the final reveal of the next games most likely location (Orion) which could lead to Celia and Hayato meeting Leo and Kotori.
Personally I love Kurones character, she is a character that showed compassion for others despite it not being beneficial for her at all (Considering that she's the main antangonist). Like how she saved Kotori from being recorrupted to even trying to teach Luna how to save Leo.
Kurone as a character gets a huge set up for redemption despite her being the main antangonist along side ivillia in Mirage.
She even falls in love with Leo (Semi) which brings her a new obession regarding him. Showing how Sadi's Powers are not absolute again (First time was Anna), with the reason being Sadi's selfishness / arrogance working against him.
The story ends off with a cliff hanger, revealing the actual person who has the goddess blood in her and revealing where the next game will most likely take place.
Which ties perfectly with the ending of Rift in the Crypt. Im just a sucker for Ntr games with a true pure ending lmao

Overall I love this game, I'm not someone who complains often but neither am I usually impressed but this story has me obessed with knowing what comes next. The build ups are done wonderfully and it really does help you understand the characters. Espicially the developement of Leo the mc.
He is one of those typical dense annoying mc's at first even being called out for it by Kurone, however the game developes him in way where you can actually feel his growth. His ability to finally command confidently and to even declare his rescue of Kurone despite her betrayal and the dangers of the mission shows just how much he actually grew as a character.
Excited for the next game Chima, keep it up!

I'm very lazy person for writing long game reviews, but when I encounter project that catches my heart, I always try to overcome my laziness in order to help it at least in some way. Tho I don't have money to support the dev, I'll at least rate this one with my 5 stars and hope it get's popular for dev to find funds for his next game.
(Now to the review itself)

What I liked about the game :
* Interesting characters with their unique personalities, back stories, own motivations and goals, some actual feelings and "working methods".
* Very spicy art, although not in large quantities, but with great quality and detail, just the way I like.
* Pretty interesting plot, firstly I was not catched by it very much, but the further it went to more it captured my attention to the point when H-content haven't became the only motivation to play the game to the end. I was very interested in how the story would end and overall variety of choices and endings is very remarkable. I absolutely love variability in games and the way it affects the world and endings, this game nailed it. Also the "days before catastrophe" countdown is pretty intriguing technique (simmilar to Pathologic), which keeps the player at constant tension of things escalating very fast, I like this idea. I'm waiting for the next chapter now.
* How game world and side-characters dialogues were changing depending on the events which happened.

One of the best Corruption/Mind_Control hentai games I've played, will forever be in list of my favourites. 5/5, must try for everyone who likes those tags.

Scrolling through some other reviews makes me question if we played the same game.


Imo this is a "more does not equal better" scenario for chimaLABO.

First game did it fine, near perfect. It's linear but the areas generally change, are short, small and sweet. It's to the point, you don't have to chew through hours of outer layer and slow walk to get to the meat of it. There is no combat or actual gameplay in that one, it's a walking sim with choices and unbeatable puzzles. It's just like this game, but didn't feel painfully slow due to it's short length. It did worldbuilding fine by giving us a few lines and flashbacks that didn't last long either.

This game said "fuck it" and went balls deep into the walking simulator part. It's like the dev played a AAA game with 3h tutorials that appear every 10 seconds of gameplay and said "Imma do this, but replace tutorials with story and exposition dumps, layered with some stupid mana system because it seemed cool so I added it."

Obviously everyone has their own tastes and preferences, especially with NTR games that have a gazillion subgenres. Some love the slow burn, some prefer a faster pace, others prefer porn level acting for it where it's basically zero resistance from the get go. But to me, this one ain't it chief.


I didn't give a damn about these characters. Which is infuriating because it was so easy for me to like the first games characters within a few minutes, just because they were so cookie cutter generic. It keeps things simple. Which, imagine, is a preferable thing for a porn game.


Also the CGs stink over half the time. There's only a few gems in there, surrounded by mediocre, if not low quality artwork.

Another low quality male protag NTR RPGMaker moment.

Would have been a solid 5 if one additional character had been romanceable and I was hoping to be able to turn the antagonist to my side. I will say that it is the best written game I've played in a while...it really nails the sexual tension (I guess it depends on your choices too). I enjoyed it so much I played their previous game, and I enjoyed that as well. They do corruption really well.

Excellent game. Excellent plot, with characters with interesting dynamics. Great NTR.

The scenes are simple and so is the music but unless you are just looking to fap this is more than worth the read and the writing actively adds to the porn. Spoilers should be avoided.

This game has a nice story premise and alluring women that make the intent of NTRing, or being NTRed somewhat believable, and the scenes are all well done, if not for the fact that the audio is slightly lacking, as when you want to enjoy the scene long enough to have a long build up to reach your own climax, the sound will cut out as it isn't looped, leaving you to masturbate to silence, which might not be a problem for most people that would have that sound muted.

The Good

Good Art no question about that
Relatively easy to win, you given choice to get NTR'd or not literally if you don't want main girl betray you, you can always pick none lewd option.

The Bad
-- Gameplay is not that good, issue its not RPGmaker type of game this more Visual Novel would been better done in Unity something got rid of ugly sprites and made their own characters.
- Chapters and where to go was still confusing if they didn't give you site star every floor you always get lost, no clear direction

The Ugly

- Sex scenes, both NTR and non are so-so, non-animated, and just shaking jpeg. This was big issue for me this would been better if didn't just have sprite sex and some scenes with nice art were animated

Solid game still, had interesting story wish NTR was better and game shouldn't of been made in RPGmaker if VN style story telling

This closer to VN than RPGM cause there's none RPG elements in this game because basically this game is just Search for the character, talk, make a choice, fix barrier, search for the events, repeat. The art is great and if you can't bear the wall of text (especially when the MC having flashback in nearly every day) you can just enter the recollection room, basically this game for me is carried by the art.

man what a good game this was. even though i'm an ntr fan, this time i preferred the vanilla route with some ntr bait. leo's father was a good man. my father never talked to me like that, but the way he talked to his son, the way he gave advice, the way he interacted with him, made my eyes a little teary. i've never felt this way from any game, not even rdr2. it put my heart at rest. thank you, leo's dad. i'll be a better person. i won’t let my loved ones down just because of the failure i've been. and thanks to the devs for making such a good game. i owe you

easily one of the best ntr games ive played. mostly because the target is pushed very very far, you really see the peak ntr, while other ntr games fail at that. definitly up there with scars of summer in my mind, truely peak stuff.

Mirage's Defection is the best NTR game of the year.
Why?
~ The art is amazingly great (I love the heroine's design).
~ The H-scenes is amazingly hot (Vanilla and NTR).
~ The MC got a ton of H-scenes (with main FMC and sec FMC)
~ You can steal sec FMC from her bull.
~ Choices that branches to different outcome.
~ A very unique gameplay.
~ Same universe as their previous game (with some cameos).

My suggestion? If you love NTR, try it at least once.

Boring game with barely any H art. Only play this if you have a lot of time to waste reading while praying you see anything happen. Like you will get one short h scene every couple of hours while playing.

The only game I was extremely hyped for its release, and it did not disappoint! I was a big fan of the developers previous game, and this one improves upon the design in every way. I would have liked some more variation when it came to CG's in scenes, but it was still very enjoyable. Cant wait for their next game!

This game has a really great story. Not often does a H game have me so invested in it's lore and characters. I love the characters in this game and Its great how much freedom of choice you have regarding scenes and relationships. I highly recommend it.

The truth is I thought it would be boring but I liked it a lot, the story is connected to the previous game and how little by little they corrupted the FMC I like that and the you can have a happy ending , I look forward to the next installment
