I agree on the model choices the dev's made for the mother in this. She's fantastic IMO.

FYI, though, you shouldn't be asking for recommendations about other games in this game's thread. That violates Site Rule #2.4, and I've seen posts removed and heard of people getting warnings for asking similar things elsewhere. Instead, you should post this question over on the Recommendations and Identification forum, which was created for that very purpose. If you search and don't find anything there, consider creating a new thread using the button near the top of that forum's main page. I would suggest linking to the OP of this thread so others have a frame of reference if they're unfamiliar with Mirror Mine.
just curious but why is that a rule? to minimize off topic clutter I guess? Seems a little odd since threads allow posters to have banners, which are basically ads for other games, and they show up on every post. not criticizing just confused as to the logic of it.

I think staying on topic is the primary driver behind it, especially given where that specific mention about other games is. I suppose there's probably also something about cross-advertising in that consideration as well, since many devs own the threads to their games here and don't appreciate a bunch of discussion about someone else's game in the thread for their own creation. And while I agree with your point about signatures somewhat, I think the big difference is that you're not diverting discussions by having games in your signature. NGL and say a signature couldn't derail someone's thoughts anyway, but I suspect something like the above is the reasoning.

Thank god this game got the abandoned tag. should have been a long time though
Maybe in your opinion, but according to F95 site rules, applying the Abandoned label happened when it should have. The rules to apply that label to a game thread are:
  • A game that's gone more than 3 months without a game release or an update public post by the developer
  • A game with Onhold status that has not been updated in 3 months since being marked as on hold
  • A game that, despite public update posts about it, has gone more than 18 months without a new release
The last of those 3 is what applies in this particular case (March 2023 to September 2024 = 18 months).

Not surprised about the abandoned tag! Well, it's been more than a year and a half without an update...

Lemonkey has... 73 Patrons.

He does this as a hobby, not a full-time job or even part-time job. So all the stuff about "professional" or "your boss" or "employees" isn't relevant at all. He's a hobbyist who spends his free time making a game. That's all there is to it.
If he did this more regularly .. he would have had over 500 patrons.. (atleast!).. and if he really expanded this method to more stories and games, he would had more.. thats not an excuse..

You are welcome to write your own game and come back to this thread in two years telling us about the plethora of skills and time needed to make one that is even remotely good. Thanks.

This really isn't a valid argument in defense of Lemonkey.

While it's quite true that there's a lot that goes into making an adult game, and that it's hard work, and that some developers work faster, while others are slower, there are plenty of adult game developers who are working solo, and who are creating adult games more complex than this one, who are releasing updates on a regular or semi-regular basis. Some may release updates every month, while others release updates every three or four months, or even just twice a year. But one thing which nearly all of the good developers do is to keep their supporters informed about development.

It has been one year and seven months since the last update to this game was published. Even developers who release updates only once every six months would have released three new builds in that time. And Lemonkey doesn't really keep his supporters informed. All he does is put out a new excuse for why the update is delayed or a new version of "It's totally coming soon. Just trust me." That's not a good way for him to treat his supporters.

If you support Lemonkey, and want to go on supporting him, in spite of his failings, that's fine. It's your money. Spend it as you see fit. But you can still be honest about the state of development and the developer.

Some people have a real life. Some don't. In my opinion, this is a valid excuse.

All of the adult games developers I was referencing have real lives. Some choose to talk about their lives, and some don't, but they all have them. It's not an excuse for what Lemonkey is doing. There is no excuse.

Does that mean that the game has to be thrown in the trash? No. Does it mean that Lemonkey should be taken out and shot? No. But people should stop trying to excuse him. He's doing a shitty job as a game developer, and we can admit that without denying any of the good things about the game he's making.
