Question, can we "resist" the events happening to the MC in the game or is it all scripted ?

I find it more appealing when we do have a choice to refuse, or when we can fight and be defeated afterwards.

You can resist and you can win. There is even a mode focused on fighting but losing anyway.
There is one quest in the game though where Missy has to go through a lot of forced submission/losing, though revenge will be available in a later update
