Uh, hello. I'm the developer of this game. Not the original Miside, Mita's Playhouse. I won't say anything about the fact that the paid game was leaked so quickly, because I myself don't have any copyrights for Mita, and in general I put all my games out to the public after a certain amount of time has passed. So sooner or later it would have ended up on f95.
Thanks for the comments, it was fun and nice to read and even see the Italian translation.
Mita's Playhouse is a fun little project that I decided to make as an experiment, because I was getting a little tired of my main projects. I hope you like it and if so, try my other projects too. Currently doing one more little project, a copy of “Escalation!” (without stealing characters this time).
Mita's character card is a mix of many other people's cards, as well as my work in photoshop. Unfortunately the original port is terrible (there are crooked textures, joints on the side and in general everything is bad). Plus because of my graph settings I had to change her face in the editor (I think she doesn't look like herself at all in the end, so I'm sorry I had to change her).
The location was made by a friend of mine. As far as I can see, Mita's room is already in the public domain from another person, but the basement is still missing.
Well as for “I wanted a full NSFW mod on Miside”, "I thought it was a real game like the original" and “ugh, just Koikatsu with assets”. I'm not a unity mod developer. And yes, I make VNs and use Koikatsu (not confuse with AI artwork) to visualize my scenes. These are small and simple VNs that I do solo. A set of pictures and text with a prescribed order and some features like choises and music. Roughly like a animated comic book. If you don't like that then alas. Go complain in the comments of some racing game about the fact that you can't shoot and play basketball there. Or that there's no open world in a book and you can't steal cars like in GTA.
And yes, Mita's Playhouse a pornographic game about Mita that ironizes pornographic content about Mita. Just like the original Miside ironizes “waifu culture” while creating one of the most popular waifu at the moment. And yes, the endings are abrupt and the game feels unfinished. Tried to match the original in everything.
Quite interesting, to say the least.
I generally avoid playing pornographic visual novels just as any man with a job and a social life does — though it is hypocritical of me to have an account in a pornographic website. Anyhow; I actually played and read through this thorough and through, as I had seen the game's description and said "maybe this is worth it?"
You probably won't read this (as this is necroposting at this point) but the game did a splendid job at its objective; to be an irony of game culture just as the original MiSide wanted it to be. To be frank — Mita's logic in here is but also contradictory. If she is truly conscious about taking part in a game with a predestined program (that is to show NSFW scenes for the sake of human desire), she'd rather pick to annoy the player the upmost before finally succumb to what is RenPy and if/elif/else statements.
Freud said " Sexuality is the key to the problem of the psychoneuroses and of the neuroses in general. No one who disdains the key will ever be able to unlock the door "; for Lust, not the sin, but the feeling of sexual desire is but a human trait bestowed upon us since mammals and sexual reproduction started to flourish across nature. The fact that human nature, of which we're talking about satisfaction —sex, to be blunt, has made its way across screens, to the point even someone who isn't a porn addict can recognize artists like Derpixon. That is but culture, and there's etymological facts that back up on humans being shaped up to partake in a stratified society.
Hence, it is but extremely foolish of me to be deep in thought about what is a game that is both actively hypocritical (because both values it presents are contradictory, and the game doesn't ignore but it actually laughs at it), and, at the end of the day, will be valuable for someone who justs wants to bust. Of which, most will likely autoclick through the story or use a save!, because if you truly want literary satisfaction from a VN, you'd rather read Steins;Gate, or best, just read a god damn book.
My conclusion is; great idea, dude. I've read a lot, and this is most certainly good at what it intends to be, even if it's just an "offside project" from what you've told us.
