If you look in the opening post the mod is for the very old 1.0.6 version (or 1.1.0 maybe above) of the game, the game is up to 1.2.3 now. Modified game files like this will pretty much always crash the game if it's not the right version.

Don't use them, or keep a copy of the file they replace so you can put it back after.
