Unity - Abandoned - Monster Girl Island [v0.44.3] [Redamz]

First impressions of the game.. weren't great. I don't think I ever registered that it was an abandoned project and was abandoned many years ago, so I was surprised at the artstyle used as it seemed very outdated, but it slowly grew on me.
Animations are a solid 7/10 - viewing angles often obscured view of the action but other than that they were pretty decent. Some questionable ones (which is due to the nature of some of the characters)
Story was ok at first, got slowly better. 7 or 8/10 - It was engaging enough for me to be disappointed when I reached the end.
Characters are very diverse and cover most kinks, shame that a lot of them didn't end up being developed much. 8/10

Overall, I enjoyed it!

An excellent 3D hentai game with lots of monster boobas and ass cheeks. You play on an explorable island and figure out piece by piece on how you got here. This game looked good and the scenes were enjoyable. I still remember it to this day, so 5/5 if we're talking about an initial demo review.

Now, fast forward over 5 years, when I originally found this game, imagine my shock to see nothing was developed. We never got to see the backstory of that one robot chick and why she disappeared, we don't see how the incoming human invasion was handled. As far as I remember, redamz was working on the story at his own pace, as well as the fact Patreon shut his channel down because of some of his writing. How much of that you choose to believe is up to you.

Overall, the game was never finished but from the brief demo I played on Steam a while back I enjoyed it.

The game is great and should be tried by all that is willing. The 3D models are very well rendered and animated. This game was a gem amongst the Adult Video Game community back in 2018, 2019

There's multiple scenes with it's various base girls and the addon content is nice and unique in their own right.

Unfortunately, this game has been abandoned for 3+ years by its lone developer, their patreon page has been taken down, and all subsequent accounts gone dark.

Rest In Peace, Monster Girl Island. You were too good to be true, and let the last of your name fade from existence.

Models are nice, graphics and design is mediocre, music is mediocre. But the killer flaw is something entirely different. If you are playing games for escapism, stay away from this one. I'd like to think I'm an open minded person and whenever i'm repulsed by something i think is outlandish, i give it a try, so at the very least I'll understand it better so i don't feel like a prejudgemental arsetard. But for the life of me i don't understand people that get off to being humiliated. Nearly every single one of the characters give you sh*t for no reason. If it's gonna be like that, give me the option to be an asshole back. You have no choice but to ask "give me more lol". How can anybody enjoy this? This is madness. Never been glad to see an abandoned tag on a game. What a waste.

This game is HOT. I absolutely love it! I'm not really into furries or monsters but this game made them really sensual. I gave it 4 stars because it is a bit short and the sex scenes could have had more options and sounds. Besides that, it is truly fun and exciting. I've heard the creator of the game sort of gave up on the game which is heartbroken for me. Many porn game masterpieces are abandoned these days... I hope he finds the will to continue this amazing game!

Well, after playing it I must admit that I liked it a lot, because of the images I honestly did not have much hope but hey, not bad, maybe it has some minor bugs but outside of that, the animation, story, H scenes are very good, maybe they should give you The option to advance the chapter when you want, not when sleeping but hey, that's my only complaint.
I hope you continue like this and you can bring us more monster girls

This game is a pure scam.

There is a lot to consider for both the pros and cons of this game. As for the pros, what is in the game so far is very high quality. The game looks great and runs well even on my old laptop. There is a diversity of monstergirls to see and some of them have pretty good H-scenes. If you like the shark girl or frog girl, you'll probably be happy with what they have so far for content. The free roam feels pretty good and its fun to go talk to the girls you're interested in to see if they have any content. There's a lot of people complaining about the story, but it is interesting enough.

As for the cons, even after all these years, there's just not that much of the kind of content that people are looking for. Most of the girls have 1 or 2 H-scenes, while some have no scenes at all. It looks like the plan is for each girl to have 5 levels of affection to fill out, so it is plain to see that there is a massive amount of content missing after years of development. Even with the girls that have H-scenes, some are relatively soft or niche scenes, so whether you'll like them or not is uncertain. Development progress seems spotty so there is no guessing how much longer it would take to complete the game or if they will complete it at all.

In the end, it is worth a shot. What is actually in the game is good enough to keep you entertained and worth a try. However, I wouldn't get too invested in the game or follow it closely. Download whatever build is out right now, have fun with it, and then check back on progress every few months or so. Buying into the hype right now seems risky with how long its been in development.

This dev has talent but is a fraud. I first came across this game years ago and enjoyed the demo. But looking at it now I'm shocked at how little progress has been made. Patreon creates a huge incentive problem because patrons get charged regardless of how much (or in this case, little) the creator does, so creators are incentivized to milk their subs instead of doing actual work. MGI is possibly the worst example of this. This dev has made literal millions, a life-changing amount of money, for not doing much. Some creators have morals and will pause their Patreons if their output is low, but not this scumbag. The sudden wealth must have distorted his view of reality and turned him into a narcissist/lazy entitled snowflake. But equally at fault are his subs/simps who enable this exploitative behavior by continuing to pledge.

On one hand, people have the right to do as they please with their money, including throwing it away. But at the same time, I think Patreon should consider reviewing creator pages or creating new rules to make sure consumers are not getting exploited. Either way, as much as I hate to admit it, this guy is kind of a genius. He also came in at exactly the right time, just as the Patreon model was taking off, along with MGI being one of the first "indie" 3D adult games that didn't look like dog shit.

Although it is told in the rules that review should be about the game and not about the developer, this game suffers hardly from its developer that it would be misleading to not to also talk about him.

The game, when it first came out, was revolutionary. It delivered what many people were searching for that time: 3D visuals, good graphics, good story, cute girls and quality sex scenes and VR support. Still to this day the graphics, nice 3D visuals, VR support and cute girls still stay the same yet the development of the game has now came to an undesirable state.

The developer tries to milk the game's supporters to such an extent the charm of the game is now gone, with nearly-yearly updates and not delivering on what the audience actually wants, the sex scenes. I am not saying developing the story of the game is a bad thing, but most people play the game for its lewd content and story shouldn't be its main focus, rather what holds those sexy times together. This also hurt many fans with the 2nd 4th day update, which only brought insane lore dump and confusing development without any sex scenes.

Still disregarding the developer's poor practices, the game still has its unique soul; with cute girls, quality sex scenes and somewhat interesting story.

If you want to experience this game, play it once or twice thoroughly and then be done with it. If you try to follow its development and wait for the next update, you will be quite frustrated.

I really enjoyed this game so far and have reached chapter 3 (Im guessing im not far at all) but im gonna review the startup since that's generally what makes or breaks a game for many.

Animations - Excellent 9/10 Not images but scenes. Sometimes interactive ones. Smooth animations, though sometimes clunky controls. The fixed head positions sometimes feels suffocating.

Story - Not even gonna bother, havent even really gotten into the story itself.

Movement - 6/10. Movement is clunky at times, though I understand it to some degree. Slow though which makes some sections, especially just movement sections seem long and boring.

Glitches - Ive not encountered any. No performance hiccups either I've looked at the grass but turned it off.

Ambiance - Lackluster tbh, the music is nice but generally, lack of texture sounds and things to catch the eye combined with long walking distances makes boring moments.

Cookies & exploration - I've met a couple of cookies in the game, the pigs are cute. Exploration is nice though given these games clunky movements I'd like some method to know where an area is devoid of anything interesting.

Also just a warning, if you dislike bestiality & furry then i'd avoid the fish lady right at the start. Too inhuman for my tastes. The others dont have that issue so far.

My general advice for the DEV. Make the main character movement speed faster. Though I do understand if you dont as it can cause bugs and more issues than its worth. In that case, or even not if you haven't already, add some tool to teleport, even if it's a command-type tool it would really help keep interested in the game. The lack of ambiance is probably my own fault in some ways by disabling the grass etc.

will write a review later but so far best monster girl lewds around and rich in story. only downside is the waiting time for updates but understandable though because the creator is doing it alone and it looks like he stays alone to create his vision which is respectable.

I've been following this game and have played several versions of it. This game is interesting to me because of the monster girls and that it's the first 3D game I've heard of about them.

Certain things from the game are quite buggy such as the UI and movement, especially riding on the wolf, that thing is a nightmare. Some animations pop in and out (not too big of a deal) and sometimes I find myself bugged into a black screen because I'm trying to skip the dialogue I've already read too fast.

Storywise it feels really long and cluttery, sometimes I would completely forget what it was all about because some characters just won't stop talking.
This last update felt really disappointing, but since it isn't finished yet some aspects might be improved (like new scenes and such) but I have low expectations that the story will change. (the story parts of this update felt really stupid imo, like cmon man I know you need some drama but still)

H-Scenes are 10/10 in my book tho.

At first I tried to be somewhat invested in the story but I found myself lost after not too long. If you want to play this game purely for the H-Scenes go for it. But if you are in for the story, give it a while until it gets to a point where it doesn't feel like walking on legos everytime you try to understand it.

Waited a year for an update where the only content is endless uninteresting blabbering. When I tried to put my self into the MC's place I felt only awful. No real relationship progress with anyone, almost everyone's just being an asshole to you.

Best quality game on f95zone that I will 100% buy when it's completed.

- Beautiful characters both inside and out (Opinion: except some weird messed up monster girls like the spider, wasp and shark; it killed my boner)
- Captivating story
- No women abuse.
- Best unique feature only found in this game: Selective thrusting (You can choose when to pound her)
- Open-world freedom, inventory system
- Beautiful and fitting music
- VR feature

Unfortunately there's only voice acting for 1 scene only. No panting or orgasm voices. There are tapping sounds though which is a plus!

It's not common to see quality of this level in this certain niche of a genre.
There is a lot of potential going on for this 3D sandbox-esque "visual novel" featuring anime monster girls. A good find, I'd say so myself.

What really drew me in is the graphics. It's really refreshing to see anime-styled monster girls in an open world, where you can get to explore in 3D.

Although there is not much right now, there are key concepts which highlights what to expect in the future. Some great ideas are being experimented and you can really see how well it take off once successfully implemented.

Definitely one to look out for in the future, especially for those with an interest in anime monster girls.

Just to offset the fanboying in these reviews, thought I'd leave my thoughts on this.

I've supported this project from when it just started, around 10 patrons or so at the time. It was the first Monster Girl game on Patreon and one which seemed of high quality. Moreover, it had VR support, which was truly a dream come true for a monster girl fan. The developer was excited about the project, did interesting blogs on his progress and just generally engaged the community as one would.

But fast forward to today, and unfortunately, it has not been the case for years. This is the project that had amazing potential, but will never be realized due to reasons you could easily find yourself.

The game itself might seem impressive on the first glance if you are a newcomer, but the case it: it's not. The UI is still clunky, the full VR support for the game has been dropped, the animations are not very fluid. This game plays very similarly to how it was 5 (!!!) years ago. And it doesn't seem likely like it'll improve much based on recent updates.

The only good quality of this project at the end of the day is the unique monster girls. There are still no other games with similar quality of monster girls, perhaps 1 or 2, and I don't see that changing. For that reason I am giving it 2 stars, instead of just one.

I'm a huge AVG nerd and propably tried/played 200+ titles over the past 2-3 years.

Let me say one thing.
This shit is the fcking future.
Monster Girl Island puts 99% of the other games to shame.
It's amazing, it's a solid 5/5 from me and it has the potential to become the best game on this entire site.
I know this is a bold statement and there are 2 main reasons (I won't list all of them, just 2 most important ones):
1. Technical achievement. The game feels like a real freaking FPP real time videogame, not like a glorified talentless asset flip. There has never been a proper FPP game on this site that didn't feel stiff and awkward. Sure, that one game about MC getting trapped on a space station with 2 girls was amazing (cant remember the name), but it didn't feel like an A/AA/AAA product. This one does.
Animations are flawless, faces convey amotions in a great way, there are no glitches. Game looks great, all the systems work great. The way dialogues appear on your screen is revolutionary for Adult Videogames! It's a smooth experience. MGI feels like it has a real team of developers behind it, while in contrast I feel like many games that tried to achieve the same goal felt like they were made by some guy with no programming/art experience in some basement in russia.
2. My main concern when downloading MGI was that it could turn out to be tech demo. I'm sure by now most of us on this site played at least one game with amazing graphics/art/design that turned out to be 15 minutes long.
This is not the case here. Sure, the game isn't huge by any means, but it took me something like 8 hours to unlock every H-scene. And oh boy was it worth it!
