Pardon me, but where do I get the "Unknown Cells" material for an Insect transformation?

*And "Quantum Gear" for a doll transformation as well.

Maybe this has been answered before, but I'll ask anyways: Are there some characters that are unrecruitable? I just beat
Adramelech (yeah, I'm late to this party), but can't find clues anywhere if you can add her to the roster or not. I guess the same goes for other bosses, right? Spoil me if necessary, to answer the question.

Most monsters can be recruited during the story. Only some of the last boss of the game (like the calamity you found during part 3) can't be recruited at this time and the dev are working on a new dlc in order to get them. If I remember correctly Adramelech is recruited during the dungeon linked to Sonya later in chaos route (very late dungeon)

Dude what the hell is with MGQ power scaling?!
You're telling me a green haired shortstack with a kitchen knife is MUCH MORE POWERFUL than a Banshee that can turn back time and drown the world endlessly??!!!
We've talked about this before previously, lol. Aside from a few classic narrative mistakes, it's made worse by employing some major sins of narrative writing, time travel and multiverses, both of which pretty much inherently always fuck your story and have to be dealt with as if they were nuclear bombs about to explode... because they are.

So we end up with a setting with really wonky scaling in general with stakes that just have to keep soaring higher and higher to the point of ridiculous due to narrative corners and having to keep pace.

folks theres so many instances where the game is doign storytelling without using actual words, luddite vill for example has the women inside the houses and the man outside, no house except for the mayors has 2stories and ofc theres obv the fact that its second floor is lavish while the first one appears more normal; they rly nail the oppressiveness for that village so ezily, its tbh impressive!

Is this game complete or still updating? I plan on just grabbing the finished version and playing it all at once but since it's got parts and then updates of those parts I'm not sure how done it is.

Don't worry, if it gets ridiculous you'll always have the "exhausted from damage" trope to make powerful beings into weaker enemies. In this case however most of 16 Calamities don't have that trope...

Mtool is a powerfull cheat engine that let you cheat a lot of thing like xp, or item in your inventory. Before bob translation mtool was also used as the main translation tool for the game. I finished the game with it this way. I left it in the game folder for people to use if they want to cheat item that they don't want to grind like the one needed for some quest at the end of the game, or to skip a bug that can happen in the last dungeon of the game where you are locked behind some laser and need to use the noclip fonction from mtool to go through.
If you don't have the bug and don't need cheat you can skip using it.

If you want to cheat, mtool can be a litle tricky to use so follow this guide.

Would running the remove tool.bat mess up anything or is it vital to the game's integrity in some form if you know?

There is a newer version 3.05 hosted by Uchihafabio somewhere (some people said that 3.05 was bugged and not sure if the version was upgraded to 3.06) but my version is on gofile and his version on mega so you need to use vpn because of the size of the game.
For me the best option is probably the last one on the gofile with the chaos guide and mtool ready to launch by going inside the tool folder and using the nw.exe (if you want one of the best cheat engine for this game, in my opinion)
You don't need to use mtool for the translation the mtl is already applied to the game.

I understand that part 3 is fairly recent and translation is not finished, but I thought I'd could play at least early bits of the game now. But there seems to be lots of minor text left untranslated here and there, even early game. It's not deal breaker, but it's an annoyance, and I'm wondering if they will eventually be worked on, or should I just ignore them and keep playing.

They are mostly combat stuff and all of them should be during the start of the game. For what I remember they where translated before (in version 2.41) but during the merge with part 3 something broke and now I'm not sure they are working on it because it's mostly low priority stuff.
Part 3 is pretty much fully translated (as machine translation corrected by human hand). If you found japanase during your run on the content of part 3 it's probably because you didn't picked a mtl version of the game.

if you really want to play from the beginning in full english you can grab a version 2.41 with part 1-2 in human english, then transfert your save folder inside your part 3 when you have ended part 2
There is a link to a game 2.41
