Did the explanation on how to use gems go over Anyone else is head? I just beat the Puppeteer's Tower and i'm hardly making a dent in fights. I've been using Ultimate slime fusion to take down enemies. Almost none of my equipment has gem slots. (Except chest stuff, but I'd rather make equipment than buy it...)

Well, beating puppeteer's tower suggests you're on Illias' route? You should have been given a good number of equips with a single gem slot by now. And this game doesn't have two different equip progressions, you often need to buy basic gear that you can smith up into better gear.

The TL/DR on gems themselves is that you want to figure out what a character's 'primary' stat is, by reading their trait description or reading the stat used for the attacks of their primary job, and stack gems to enhance that stat, or the skill that stat contributes to. For Luka, for instance, Attack gems are okay, but gems of the hero are amazing, because they give attack AND amp up the power of his heroism skills. Gem boosts are multiplicative with other boosts, I'm pretty sure.

Some bits of this are written with a bit too much of a minmax perspective and suggest grinding WAY too much, but it's still a good read for describing basic build concepts.

And I can't just upgrade meteorite equipmemt? Ugh, this is gonna be a pain. Speaking of upgrades, do you know where I can go to upgrade Halo Night Custom? Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find it in any smiths shops.

That'd be Monster World Grand Noah. It's actually in Grand Noah on both routes.

Edit: And yeah, a lot of the gear you can smith in MW comes from smithing chains from stuff you could pick up from chests or buy from stores earlier. For example, that 'Divine Halberd Thousand snakes' starts off from a weapon you buy in Saloon, then upgrade in Sabasa, then again in Grandure, before finally ending up in MW Grand Noah.

So I have 3.05 and I know there's a 3.06 but what's the latest version of the BobMTL cause I heard that one has a better edited ai translation?

FFS... Someone really needs to update the first page.

But fine. As of now.

Download 3.06 from here.

Extract it to its own folder. Do not overwrite anything. The 8.2 gigs you just downloaded are a full, working copy of Paradox 3.06 with 99% translated.

Run the game, make sure it works. If you're running a windows PC, it should. If you've got old saves, make a backup of the save folder, and copy your old one into the new mgq folder.

Hell, you can just play now if you want. But, to translate some subquest stuff in chapter 3...

Next, download this. the '_Tiny Improvs BOBmtl with patcher 0.17 (for 3.06)' file from here.

Now, in the MGQ game folder, delete the 'one click patcher' and 'patch' folders.

Now extract the _Tiny Improvs BOBmtl with patcher 0.17 (for 3.06) so ITS one-click patcher folder is there.

In the one click folder, run "Start_Patch [52AE0DFB]" and press 2.

Wait.

Once it's reported it's done, run the game again.

On a win 11 PC, if you follow all of these steps, you will end up with a working game. I literally did it as I was writing this just to test. If you don't, either you've done something wrong, or you've got some individual compatibility issue that none of us are going to be able to help with, probably at all, but especially if all you say is 'it didn't work.'

Questions and answers.

Is this the full game?
Yes. This is a full and complete version of the game with all assets. You can play through from the start of part 1 all the way to the end of part 3 as of the 3.06 patch.

How much is translated?
All of it. However, the quality varies. All of parts 1 and 2 are human translation from the fan translation team. However, their part 3 translation isn't done yet, so after a certain point in part 3 it switches to human edited MTL.

MTL? Where and how bad?
As far as I can tell, from around the start of the Sabasa region on Alice's route, and attacking Kannad at Grand Noah on the Illias route. The whole third route is MTL. Said MTL has been given an editing pass by a human and is perfectly understandable if you pay attention. It was done with a fair amount of care.

Saves from previous versions should be compatable. Just copy over your save folder.
Just want to thank you for making this whole process a whole lotta easier

Dang. So, I think I screwed myself over. Any help would be appreciated. I am pretty sure I borked Vanilla quest, and from what I've read you need all quests done to complete part 3.

No, since mods for the wrong version are a major cause of crashes, and there doesn't seem to be a version indicator on anything. If you want to try it, it can be found here. In fact, I guess I'll add a note on mods to the end of that post.

Hello, I know it's probably asked a lot here, but can someone update me on how the translation is going? I'm trying to avoid spoilers.

Machine translation corrected by human hand is 100% done.
You can find the most recent version here

Professional translation work is in the making with probably end of the year or next year for the full translation.

The latest version posted by Arbitrara works perfectly. When I said it didn't work before it was simple as, no error messages or anything of the sort it just didn't do anything. I was livid at the time of posting my last message. Sorry if I offended anyone with my last message im sure plenty of hard work goes into translating the game.
