Yep. Netorase fetish is that fragile. Just the knowledge that ntr and a betrayal of trust are possible would completely sour the experience. Maye because they are so fucking rare? Seriously NTR fans get so much so when pure NTS stuff is created of course people get defensive.
I always see NTR fans beg for it in NTS games, how about go and play the hundreds or thousands of already available NTR games?
Of course I am all for the developer moving on to develop a hard ntr game after he finishes this one if he wants to. I just really hope that this one stays completely netorase since I am so invested into it already.

Games will still be abandoned anyway. A lot of people think they'll make lots of money from these games and when they don't, they have to stop making them because of the time investment with so little return.
