He said if anything, it won't be before his second child coming in April. Meaning starting April he MAY be back, of course many sleepless tiring nights with a newborn. I'd say we'd be pretty lucky if we started seeing an update in the second half of 2025Didn't he say he'll release in April? Got a long way to go

Being a debuting dev i presume this one is not his main activity. If his wife/partner needs some attentions for this last months it reasonable that this game went quite low on his priorities. Bummer because this game is really a good one and i hope he reprises it with entusiasm. There will be a several months of waking up at night for the baby as well. We will see.

Personally, while giving the dev the benefit of the doubt, because I know people in here can be quite distrusting, I would've suggested the dev keep the patreon open until he settles in with his family in a new place, and then close it after for a couple of months or so to make up for the lack of updates if he needs to.
No one should risk ending up on the street.

It's a second child 5 months (well, now 4 and half) to come. Per se wouldn't be such a shock since he and his, i presume, wife have been there already. So i guess the situation got some complication.I think the main problem is the living situation, the baby was always coming... xD I mean sure, a baby does take time away, but if you are somewhat organised and dont get unlucky with a 24/7 screamer there is still free times
The guy came here and on patreon, explained he won't be able to work on the progect in the next months, stopped the patreon payments, what else was him supposted to do? I think he behaved professionally.
So let's allow him his deserved privacy. If in april this game will be abandone, bummer, it was a great project. If it starts again i'll be happy to play more.

Clearly the problem is the living situation because of the shitty landlord that made them have to search for a new place to live on very short notice and I am pretty sure everyone can agree that shit like that is out of his hand, you can only deal with stuff like that when it happens after all.

just seemed like you thought that I thought that the Dev just made excuses and I wanted to clear up that I don't think that Most of us probably know how shitty it is to look for a new place to live, even more so at this time of the year... and we all just hope he is back soon to work more on this, because it is fantastic and we need more Suzie xP

Sorry to be the guy, but these are weird excuses to end a very popular project. Yep moving sucks but it takes no more then a week or two to move to a new place.

My wife had twins and we didn't get busy with much untill two month AFTER they were born.
My guess would be the mama put the in kabash on the project because the dev was spending to much time in on it.

even if this was the reason, is that not a valid reason to quit? he closed the patreon immediately, told everyone up front he was pausing development. what's the issue? do you think you are OWED his time/energy?
this dude handled it as best as anyone could ask for and you're still crying about it. i'm sad this game is on hold, i think it was the best game with the most promise in a long time, but he doesn't owe us shit if he's not actively taking peoples' money
So it was in November, and has to move by end of December. That's four weeks, yes it sucks but not hard to do.
You are correct, he doesn't owe us anything, I hope he proves me wrong and does come back in April or whenever. Just don't see it happening.
