I just hope we can skip it next time something like that happens lol. I didn't like the Halloween special dream at all so I found it annoying how it was baked into the story and not optional.

Consider also that anything 'optional' means more work for the dev. If you plan to put out, let's say, 2 hours of content per release, then you start to 'this sequence is optional, this other sequence is optiona, this can be skipped' you erode the overall playtime, so you have to also put alternative content to fill the lack. A lot of work. Let's not be greedy. If you don't particulary like a sequence, speedclick through it.

or hear me can make it optional and have that part skipped and add nothing it's on the player not the dev if their update is short because they don't like or want to see something. No need for him to add extra content for the small miniority.

If it's 'have Susie give head to Draco or not', that's true. If it's 'play the halloween special' or skip it, it's a bigger deal. If it's 'play the truth or dare sequence or directly go to bed', it's a big chunck of game you miss. You can't have a release that is 'Anon wakes up, gives some though about the last release events, says hi to the girl, then skips directly to the evening and he goes to bed, the end'. It's a matter of proportions. And also, successive releases would probably mention events like the truth or dare sequence or the kiss with Cee (actually skippable). The more you skip, the more complex is to keep trail of the story in consideration of all possible choices.

That's what i meant. There have still to be enough content. So it can't be everything skippable to tailor the experience. There have to be definitive plot points and enough events. And you can't ask the dev to make 5-10 full alternative paths per release just to make each and everyone happy.

Yeah I agree with that much I wouldn't want the dev to make something skippable if it meant extra work I think as long as it's not the main content of the update it would be generally fine even if you miss a big section like the Halloween special.

That's almost always how I play a new game the first time. I close off and say no to everything to see where it goes. After getting to the end of the content I go back and try things. This lets me see where the story might be heading and also lets me see how real the choices are. Some games are really disappointing, forcing you into lewd choice by the back door even when you say no, just to keep the number of paths down.

I think it's considered offtopic to openly mention other games in a game topic, but that would be Eternum. I'm pretty sure you are able to close all routes and the game goes on with no romantic and sexy content.

If the story stands on its own leg, it might be an interesting 'variant' just to see how it goes, but i wouldn't systematically play this games on celibate routes, it wouldn't make sense, even if they got a good story. They are meant to be porn games. When they are made right, the porn is integrated in the experience.

It's pretty easy to generate ai videos now of whatever you want. You can just take an image from the game and tell the ai prompt what to do
