I hope BCG has put the whole NTS/NTR thing to bed plot wise in his future updates. I felt like he did a great job at the end of chapter 4 when Suzie and Anon were just lying together and talking. Too many people are hung up on that stuff and developers can ruin the flow of the story trying to please people with "asking for permission" or communicating before every potential sex act. I think you can please the NTS crowd by having Suzie and Anon talk about what happened after and also pleasing the NTR crowd by just letting Suzie do what she wants without always checking with Anon first.

I think it's pretty much impossible to please both NTS and NTR enjoyers with a single storyline. NTS people enjoy them doing things as a couple and always with consent and communication. NTR people like the cheating, sneaking around and doing stuff behind each other's back. That is the FMC doing stuff behind the MC's back, the MC cheating just doesn't do it for them. Unless it leads to the FMC also cheating obviously.

Well then, by your own definition of NTS/NTR, what about Schrödinger's Cheating where MMC allows FMC, or vice versa, to "cheat"? She/he gets a free pass for a mystery lover and they only give away so much information over time that they have to puzzle it all together by themselves to find out who the other is shagging. Once they're found out or the other says the safe word, the cat & mouse game stops immediately.
Plot twist: they can also choose their partner.

Even the "allowing" part would have NTR enjoyers complaining that it's NTS. They like the cheating and sneaking around part of it, usually where the MC is unaware. And certainly doesn't enjoy it in any way.
Personally, I don't care either way I just hate the constant need for communication in NTS stories that ruins the plot flow when the female character is not with the main male character but she's in a sexy situation during the game/story.

I still believe it can be pulled off, at least to some degree. They could put it down in writing without the player being able to read their agreement or use any other device to keep the player guessing about the fine print.
In any case, el diablo rojo is right when they say the constant hand-holding often ruins flow. It's is as if every unwritten rule or thought needs to be laid bare for all the world to see. It's unrealistic and not a every exciting way to tell a story or portray relationships.

Oh I'm quite easy to please, I enjoy a wide range of different VN's from vanilla to NTS or even some NTR. I just know what I've seen in threads of games that try to please both NTS and NTR fans and it never works out well.Looks like you're not easy to please as well

From what I've seen the Suzie date rules and boundaries are going to be set before hand, so hopefully there won't be even more permission stuff on the phone while on the date. Otherwise I agree that could get tiresome.

(Unless I suddenly find a breaking bug - which is quite possible because this is the whirlwindiest end-of-update sprint that I've ever had, and the most can go wrong because of all the conditional stuff.)

I never meant he had done a bad job, I didn't even mean that this in particular would be made badly. I just said the concept in general didn't fit my taste.
Tbh while writing that I was just thinking about the game The East Block. This game used abusively that "texting in real time" thing, all the time, and it made a lot of scenes feel ridiculous to me. So just hearing about it makes me sceptical now. Unless, once again, it's just texting a few times, not at every step in the middle of the action (the timing matters too). It would feel more natural if the main "lines" they were authorized to cross were set before the date to begin with. And then, maybe asking once or twice if things went farther than that.
I think pictures on both sides would be sufficient for the teasing.
But hey, I said from the start it's just a personal opinion.

Man I still remember how they flopped the main quest in Gothic 2 solely because fans demanded to resurrect the protagonist from the Gothic 1. Initially they had a much more interesting premise as well as overall plot, but because of the fan "feedback" they opted to a "Hey hero go and save the world, will ya?" kind of story. The game was still good because of the side quests and factions, but the main story was bland.
