Very curious. I had to boot up the game and load my saves to check what your problem could be, and I'm having the same problem as you in these old saves! There used to be a small picture of the outside in the bottom left corner with the word "Back". This was the button to leave the bar. I can still see that button in my save-file's thumbnail, but not in the game itself.
BananaCreamGames Is this a bug resulting from the rescaling, or just something that happens when loading old saves, but perhaps not present if one starts the game anew?

To my knowledge that is indeed the case. Advisements have been made to try a different save ( maybe older) or start anew.

So I updated to the new 0.6 version on android and my saves got nuked? 
Edit: I guess they didn't after all. An another instance of the app was created instead of updating an existing one... What path leads to where the save files are stored on android?

Yes definitely an issue of the game loading the old map location offset values from the old saves, which was unforseen. Can't easily fix that, sadly.
The move to 1080p brought a lot of unforseen issues.
I didn't catch this in testing because I nearly always start fresh and fast forward through content to see nothing broke.
Quite inexperienced with the nuances of making Android builds... so not sure. I wouldn't recommend porting the saves, anyway. Because of the above mentioned issues.So I updated to the new 0.6 version on android and my saves got nuked?

I'll provide a way to skip to new content in the future, where if you choose to drop into ep6 for example, you'll do some of the choices that need to be made, then be dropped right into the start of that episode.
If I remember correctly, it's on the porch at night in episode 3, somewhere near the bench on the left side.
That save fix is only to fix the broken load/save screens because of the thumbnails being too large. It doesn't fix the issues with the freeroam locations being off-screen which I realized was an issue after I had made that fix...

I'm an NTS guy, but my main complaint is when NTS games take a sudden hard right into full NTR.
We're already lacking in NTS games, don't give us hope then rip it away.
