Morals are personal things and are not pertinent at a societal level. Ethics on the other hand are at a societal level.

Serial killers have their own personal morals of right and wrong. I've always found it amusing when people rail against morality as if it meant anything other than self delusion and an attempt at being non-conformist. All it does is establish a baseline of how educated a person isn't.

Pure good protagonists can have flaws too, you know! I will not tolerate this good noodle MC slander!
I don't diss your good noodle protagonists! I did say that the more important flaws aren't ethical in the first place, and left unspecified what they are but they're more like weaknesses, skills they lack, emotional wounds. That I don't like those ethical extremes is more my personal taste - the rest of my post was poking more at "dark" tropes too.

That said I do think it's difficult to give pure good protagonists interesting ethical flaws, so they often feel flatter and their dilemmas often feel like capacity, spending or efficiency issues instead of anything deeper. And a more compromised protagonist can more easily create tension, and feel more relatable. I don't care about the inner life of perfect angels or totally unhinged demons.

I'm not entirely happy with the framing of it as good against evil, even tho I went with it and it's of course relevant if you want to describe what your limits are for a protagonist's nehaviour, because it's too abstract on its own. Define the protagonist's role, what are their interests, how do they conflict with other people's (characters'?) and what are interesting but different ways to resolve them... and what do these choices mean for their personality? What is right or wrong for them?

So yeah, I like if the protagonist's ethics are a little gray. And if the power fantasy aspects are a little toned down, just with flair and delay if nothing else, or come at a price. A bit bittersweet. Like, the protagonist gets the girl and the money, but compromises her shallow simple authenticity, and in a way loses herself every day for the rest of her life. Yes that's a real game. I think the tragic and happy elements in that are obvious.

Pretty please, share these pieces with us!
1st game: Nex(e)us Institute - mixed DID/harem game with a loser protagonist in a hypnotic academy, with a silly humorous tone
and game: Mistress vs Slave - kind of a... management game? try to get the sadistic protagonist as the heir to her father in an small electoral monarchy, with a more serious tone, I think only the harem path is completed, the other routes were soft abandoned

That's because I don't think people understand corruption, despite claiming it or tagging it as such. Most "corruption" stuff is just weird molestation until she is a huge slut.

But what you seem to be implying is what I am into as well. Actually BE corruptive and not a creepy molester and show her pleasure that makes her go "hmmm... this dark side thing sure is kind of nice..."

Doing this has nothing to do with groping by strangers on the streets. It has nothing to do with molesting her randomly.

It has a lot to do with putting her out of her comfort zone, slowly, and being gentle yet persuasive AND REWARDING that activity nicely. These rewards and exits from the comfort zone can continue to build up until she may like to get molested on trains and seek it out like a slut, but that has to be worked up to. Otherwise it's not corruption, it's just a creepy molester simulation with a female character who acts nothing like a woman would under those circumstances.

And it's not bad that people do like molester trains. It's just that that is not what I consider corruption, and this is encompassing of vast swathes of games. Stories and books do this MUCH better- even short stories can still get it across. I'm not sure why those stories haven't translated well to video games yet.
I don't disagree with your points about progression in the genre and how molestation is a dumb mechanic, but I think there's a cultural reason why Japanese devs, and weebs as a result, put it in. But it isn't pretty.

Right? Having a cock on a girl totally is a flaw. :Kappa: How would they ever cope with the copious amount of wholesome sex with such a flaw.

On a side note, I've always wondered if you ever tried my AVN, because apparently it's wholesome. :KEK:
