VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Motherless [v0.22.1.0] [Mr.Mister]

Was enjoying the VN until maybe halfway through season 2.
At this point it feels like little more than jumping between sex scenes with the occasional italian/cowboy stereotype thrown in.

Edit: The following is about the standalone and not the full game. I'm still following the game but honestly it's not gotten too much better and seems to be making various shit up to keep the story and money flowing at this point

The protagonist is great, all the girls are beautiful and sexy too, the plot got intresting towards end of season 1 so I'm excited for trying season 2. I usually don't like medium hair MCs but the hair suits MC very well. Moon is my favourite girl (she look like Amazon goddess), Dick frustrated me a lot and I'm sad we couldn't deal with him, Castro getting what he deserves is fun and Gaylord...oh god i hate that dude

The renders are mediocre at best, and fuckin weird on average. There's no cohesive story, and the direction is all over the fuckin place. The premise is ridiculous. The dialogue is fuckin nonsense, was written by someone who speaks english as a second language, and there's far too much of it for as little sense as it makes. None of the characters are even remotely believable.

One of my go to sources for when I need to relieve some tension, I'm always left satisfied with this game for some reason. I'm team Valerie all day but others like Gisselle keeps me invested also. The story is decent for the most part and doesn't try to do too much but like I said before Valerie is the star of the show for me. The Dev is one of the hardest working people around I respect that and wish him all the luck the rest of the way.

The beginning is somewhat lame. But it includes plot elements that are necessary to understand the later actions and relationships. What motivates the women and why they need someone like the MC.

I haven't played the whole way through yet. I'm where his birth mother is living with him, and (depending upon your choices) you are doing nearly every girl that appears. And possibility to do those later on.

With the WT patch, you can skip or play the mini games on easy mode. The sex scenes are also mainly skippable. So if there are any women that you don't like, Just don't make the choices that result in sex.

The girls in the game look WAY better than the banner looks. Some are only ok, and others are OUTSTANDING!!! Some are simply gorgeous. Like dolls!
Dev certainly likes large breasts and bottoms. More than my taste, but hey it's free.

Also, he does MANY animations. Not just static frames. This person is highly skilled at graphics. And you can always SPACE through the scenes if you want.

The Dialogue seems to be written by a 15 yr old Russian. I speak Russian and there are many giveaways. His use of a/an/the and many overly formal, or sloppy phrase translations. They MC sounds like a 12 yr old at times, and a University Professor at other scenes.

TL;DR-
Anyway, once you get through the beginning, this turns into GOLD.
Personally, I really like the plot concept. It's unfolding isn't realistic, but it allows you to quickly F all kinds of gorgeous babes.

If you like a silly plot, read the dialogue. If not, just TAB through the speaking, and use the WT patch to make the "correct" choices.

first time reviewing a game, I really like the plot and characters in the game, for how twisted for the plot for the MC and his mother/step mother. Character design also fit me (this will depend on personal likes).

just like the version number and this sites current rating, this VN (a laughably loose term obviously cos this is nowhere near a novel, more a novelty ) is completely convoluted.

there is no real structure to the story telling and the writing is just mind-numbingly bad. it had a certain brainless charm at one point in it's development but that really has worn thin as the project has continued.

if you want a prime example of development that shows a huge lack of it's creators learning from the process, look no further.

convoluted describes this in a nutshell as the MC has an inordinate amount of 'mothers' and other relatives. clearly a fan of incest created this but in a clueless way.

the imagery is sub par for this site and animations are equally poor. a few of the girls look alright but it's about the only redeeming quality to push this UP to a 1 star game for me. with this latest update looking very much like a plug for the next disaster (watch for the next over endowed MC ) making no sense whatsoever to an already nonsensical plot, any charm this had is not only dead and buried but has had the burial plot lease pulled.

i even became less aroused AFTER playing it. sheesh

Lots of hot women, good sex scenes and a good overall story. There was a time when a negative was it moved to sandbox, but that was able to be turned off. The only negative is unavoidable sex with women age 60+. That is called a "sabretooth" - a woman too old or ugly to be considered a cougar. That is frankly gross and should at least be avoidable/able to be turned off.

Sometimes, good ideas can be poorly executed for one reason or another. Mighty No. 9 is a kinda of a fun game... When the game allows you to have fun, because most of the time, no. The level design ruins the good mechanics that the game have, turning a acceptable Mega Man clone into some generic mediocre jump'n shoot experience. You might enjoy it, but not much. This concept can be applied to Motherless, for those TL;DR: Could be better with a tweak or two.

For all of the others: I'll explain WHY Motherless is kinda disappointing.

Story/Porn excuse: You're a guy, who after being adopted once because you're mother couldn't take care of you, then live 10 years on a pedo church because of your asshole adoptive step-dad, and then adopted once again after run away from said church, grow into a fine man who want to find his mother. Then you go to take care of a certain woman in hopes to find her. And then shenanigans happens.

Honestly, it's here that Motherless shines, it's premise. Not only that, but the intertwined nature of all the relationships that exist in the game is interesting.

Writing: That's the weak point of the game. I know that discuss writing in porn is stupid, but as a writer myself, I can't avoid it. It had some tropes that are annoying (girls immediatly wanting to jump on MC's dick being the biggest offender), which is kinda shame, because the characters are interesting, but the writing is pale. With a little moredevelopment in this part, Motherless could be great.

Graphics/Sex: We have a varied cast of Love Interests, from the main girls to the side ones, and I particularly liked the UI on title screen. But the sex scenes aren't on par with other games and the use of animations seems all over the place.

Music: Games with music had some bonus points with me.

Conclusion: Motherless have potential, but the weak writing and ok at best sex scenes let me a little down. And TBH,could be 4 stars if the game had NO animations. 3/5

Pros

• Base story is little interesting and content is lot more.
• Open incest & polyamorous were initially attractive but soon realized as boring. Incest approach with mom has been portraited with little embarrassment was a plus; but soon the same is gone beyond pregnancy was intolerable.
• Excellent quality of image renders.
• Excellent quality of animations.
• Excellent sound effects.
• Playability, performance and grammar are all just OK no issue

Cons

• Unlimited / unrestricted sex by MC is highly fictionalized; doesn’t fit.
• Lack of genuine or more of fictitious for sexuality
• Lack of seductiveness in sexual approach

Summary: Somewhat Entertaining.

Until this game it was hard for me to say that I had a favorite game.
But my god, this is actually number one now.

Before I played it, and as soon as I started playing, I was afraid that the models were too exuberant, unlike most games.
The game seemed to be generic and just another one.

But this game brings several captivating stories all interconnected. And the best, even the villains and the douches, fall fast. And no other guys have action in the game, so you can rest assured that there is no Sharing, Netorare, and such things.

And from what we see, Dev is never going for that, according to his Itch.io.
In the game you can even be with married women, but the husbands are either cool with it, or they are assholes (anyway, I enjoy NETORI (NTI ), so for me it is cool).

And in the game there are a lot of girls, more than 20 probably.
And keep adding more

A few of them don't show up much, but the main ones, 5/6, practically have a lot of time.

The girls appearances is one of the best things in this VN, very hot.

Render quality is above average.

sex animations, Terrible.

MCs hairstyle is one of the things that ruined this VN big time.
Sure dev changed it later on but still the fact that dev thought it was a good idea to give the MC a birds nest as a hairstyle in the first place is dumb.

another of the things that totally ruins this VN is that MC becomes lovestruck to whomever he sticks his dick into.
Its as if the idea of a casual friends with benefits relationships is a foreign concept to him...
He's just so vanilla that it gets bland to read about such an MC.


He has the mindset of a little boy rather than a man imo...
Either MC was designed to have little to no knowledge about love and romance, or it's the dev that has little to no experience with it, no offense but thats my observation.

All in all it's an alright VN but its nothing i would ever bother replaying.

Damn, this game is ROUGH...and at the same time I couldn't put it down.

Renders: terrible. 100% of women are deformed in a gross way.
Writing: bad. Not just the translation, but in general it's not compelling.
Progression: shit. Scenes just seem to happen one after the other.
Choices: none. You will fuck all the women. And you will also do anal.
Minigames: forced and also awful.
Characters: boring as hell, the same archetypes in every AVN ever.

But at the same time, there's some kind of magic about Motherless that made me play all eight or more hours in two sittings. I've thought about it for a long time and honestly this game just feels passionate, like the dev actually wants to make a good product and not just camp on infinite Patreon money.

I can't stress enough how choppy this game is though, I mean the women are all repulsive, with asses that looks like sig runes and boobs that are some abomination between plastic balloons and cow tits. The faces aren't much better, and the poses are borderline comedy. The writing, as I said, is basic at best and it's made worse by some really bad translation work (I could be wrong but I believe this is written originally in Spanish). Also there are obvious scenarios (a couple girls to bang) where I really wish I could have chosen another way but the game is 100% linear.

But I can't help but give it four stars. I had a really good time, and I can't wait to play more. After all, games are supposed to be enjoyable, and even if I didn't even get a half-chub once I was immensely entertained. I just hope S2 and beyond doesn't have the MC be anything other than a megaChad. If he starts losing or bad things start happening, it will utterly destroy the magic.

Mr and his game deserve so much praise and even more support. The quality is top notch and the story is compelling. All the feedback, be it positive or negative, Mr is always so open to the criticism and works to make everyone happy. He is also a great guy and easy to talk to about anything or questions you may have.

Onto the game, I truly love the mafioso concept of this vn and the direction it has gone. There's a plethora of hot babes so there is someone for everyone. All the beauties are accompanied by a great set of extras and the very likable MC. It does take a little bit to remember all the character and relationships but that is a good thing to worry about! The cherry on top are the amazing renders and great animations.

Honestly, I believe I passed up on Season 1 ages ago but am so glad I gave it another chance and followed into Season 2. It is by far my favorite vn on here! I am even more excited for where it is headed! Give it a shot, you wont be disappointed.

Standard porn power fantasy fare. Alpha MC. Gets all the girls. Beats up or cucks all the guys. No more. No less.

Still, I'm rating it 4 stars because the dev tries to make unique models... and I do mean tries. That should be rewarded. But you should know what you're getting into. Many (most?) expressions come out distorted.

Then again, some of you might think "And THIS is why we use standard Daz models."... and that's fair too. If you're the latter type of player, knock off 1-2 stars for lack of fappability.

Everything in this game is so bad, starting with the women with their deformed bodies, the cliche and poorly told story, the script, the hyper generic models, It is nonsense, it does not even serve to be a porn game, hard pass.

I like this game vbery much...renders and girls are very beautiful...story is all right too..and tyhere are a loto of sex scenes. i'm waiting for the next update. and i recommend this game to all. keep up the good work Mr Mister..

I really wanted to like this game. But I never could get into the story or the characters really.

Everything is more or less over the top here, which must not be a bad thing. The MC had a difficult childhood, first his birth mother gave him up and her best friend (a lesbian) took care of him, then the scumbag fake husband of the lesbian foster mom plotted to get rid of the child (said partner was introduced as being "gay", but for some weird reason a short while later he wants to have sex with his fake wife, and the name of said scumbag is literally "Gaylord"???) and entered him into some mean religious boarding school... until the MC runs away and finally finds yet another foster mom who takes him in.

The game also features rape in the foster mom's backstory, since her scumbag husband drugged her several times to get her pregnant. She decided to keep the children. I didn't like that particular element at all.

And the story is then about the super handsome MC (who must have had a horse as a parent a few generations ago...) about accidentally reconnecting with his birth mother who is now a nun and also his first foster mom (the lesbian with the rape backstory) who is still in a toxic relationship with a partner who literally gives her pills to paralyze her from the waist down.
And all of that is before we also get a mafia plot...

And did I mention that the first foster mom is a lesbian? Through and through? Until she isn't anymore because the MC turns her straight and gives her a good time? Eventually the MC will have sex with his birth mom as well and literally everyone else. You can avoid characters here and there of course. So you are not forced into relationships. Which is always positive!

The story is nothing to write home about. It's very unbelievable but ok, if you accept that it's mostly just parody or silly (fun). Except for the rape backstory, which is neither silly nor fun, it's nasty even if you never see it, it's just mentioned through dialogue and narration.

Where Motherless really disappoints is with the character models. Now beauty is subjective but virtually all the female love interests in this game look weird with strange proportions, oversized hips and bottoms and weird faces.

The game has some music, but mostly you get looping sound effects.

The game also has unavoidable kinks, depending on the character. And it's one of those games where the MC encounters a virgin (on an airplane, random encounter of all things!) who is not yet ready for normal sex (of course!), but is totally up for anal sex (as virgins usually are!). If you don't like that (you never know what you will get with any of the characters) you need to avoid the Japanese girl early on. Only you don't know what you'll get.

Another character (one of the daughters of the first foster mom) suddenly becomes submissive, there is even some bondage (she ties herself all up) and again, you have little choice here.

All the sex scenes are animated, the animations are ok but not as good as in other games, but certainly not the worst either.

I eventually stopped playing since I had very little fun. I didn't really like the love interests, almost all of them looked weird, the MC is the personification of a Gary Stu and the story is just silly.
The basic ingredients are all fine, MC who reunites with his family after years of absence... then there are the stereotypical scumbag male NPCs (several of them), the milfs, the mom, the teens, the virgins... but the execution is just sub par, in my opinion.

There are plenty of other games with a similar family setting that do a better job with the (overused) ingredients. And if you want a mafia themed game there are plenty of better (story driven) alternatives as well.

Doesn't mean you can't have fun here. But it will depend on how much you like the both the characters and the character models and if you can tolerate a story that doesn't really make all that much sense. As usual it's best you just give it a try, no review can tell you how much YOU will enjoy something. You can certainly have a good time with this game depending on your personal preferences.
But chances are that you may not enjoy Motherless all that much if you prefer a coherent plot and characters that stick to traditional beauty standards without exaggerated proportions and weird poses, and if you also want your MC to be less of a flawless Gary Stu.

Overall, a very good, humorous, harem game.

Pros:
The graphics and character models are good, but may take getting use to.
All the characters' personalities are unique and well done
Very humorous
MC is strong and does not let anyone get in his way

Cons:
Some of the animations may take awhile to load in.
Too many crossovers with his other game.
Forced sex scenes that just contradict the LIs personality and do not fit the game at all.

The Good:
I personally enjoy the art especially later on they get better.
Wide selection of tag/fetishes especially as a person who enjoys Harem and Pregnancy.
The Bad:
I believe the game is heading towards "Too many Characters". I hope the devs finish this project and move on. It's like a double edge sword with the amount of characters they have to focus on every once in a while.
The downright ugly: I couldn't think of anything particular tbh.
Overall: 4.5/5
I can't wait till we reach the final update of the game.
