My thinking is that Gene fixes the leak while his mother is working out to get fit for the school marathon.When her worlout is finsihed she scowls at Gene because he never offered to help her but when she takes a shower she notices that the problem with the bathroom is fixed so now she feels guilty about her thoughts/actions towards Gene.
Then she gives him a handjob lol.
Same thing with Terrence really, she lambasted him for being in detention then after finding out he was there for protecting a woman, she turns submissive and away we went.
No surprise if this approach is repeated with Gene.
