Hey zths I just wanted to let you know that it looks like one of the reasons for some wolf games on my PC not working was the file path/ location.. I moved the games to root directory and it worked.. so you might mention it to other people who have that problem.
I also shortened the folder name, and made sure to have the game.exe file in the first folder directory, like this C:/[game folder name]/game.exe
It really works.
Also, I was curious if you know why that would be the case? I know if the file path is too long, it will error when you, lets say.. copy a directory to another directory location, or extracting an archive into a new folder destination..
so I guess I'm curious now.. since you know your program, does that make any sense to you as to why it is making the games not work? like I'm saying it seems like file location is the cause, but it starts fine in that same location if it isn't using your tool.. maybe your tool adds length to the pathing somehow?
edit: I just recreated the situation again.. explorer of Iggdrasil by BlackTrain.. it wouldn't start and so I moved it to the root folder, and it still wouldn't start, so I shortened the game folder name to just 'Iggdrasil', and it worked.. it really seems like its a filepath and filepath length/search issue

[barony sengia] アドゥスタ海の孤島 / Isolated Island in the Adusta Sea (RJ272052)
the problem is that the normal text is being translated.. like walking around the island and stuff.. items.. but the events and opening story are not translated at all.. its as if your tool doesn't see them.. and maybe that is the case..

after the update, I'm having file read errors in wolf games.. I didn't have them before as far as I know..
I will say I don't know for sure 100% though.. because I didn't get to play those wolf games a lot since I was having trouble running them.. but, does your tool use decypted files more easily? I'm using the normal encrypted game files, data.wolf

WOLF RPG's path issue it has to do with the character set, I have done some internal processing,
Theoretically, it is not require a short path, it is the full English path.
In the last few versions I have added related hints.
About RJ272052 I suggest you use "Powerful text acquisition",It will take a lot of time (the game will get freeze), but it does get you the text you need.
so what you're saying is that in my case, shortening the folder name only helped it find the character set a little better, but other than that, it's mostly theoretically the same? If so, well I guess I was lucky I found a way for the game to run at all.. lol I'm happy at least even if the wolf game can't find an image or 2.. at least I can run it.. is there anything else you would suggest trying ?
I have 2 different locale switching applications.. locale emulator and another one I got from Hongfire a long time ago..
The funny part is that the game by BLACKTRAIN explorer of iggdrasil, had to use the locale emulator app.. or it wouldn't work at all even with the shortened folder name
Just found this tool and so happy about it. This opens up the world of so many japanese games that I've never been able to play, I'm so happy thanks for this. Definetley going to support the developer with a few dollars for this gem

I just downloaded the latest update and extracted the folder. The tool also prompted me to select a file after I chose "Click to get update" but I am just unsure which one I am supposed to select from the update itself, as there are no clear instructions.

ah crap... there is a way to chance the hotkey from tulle ( ` ) to another one? My layout don't have this so the only solution is to remap, kinda annoying...
If click on the part highlighted it allows you to pick which hotkey you want to use to bring up the cheat engine

Edit: nvm, i had to click under rpgm MV/MZ, anyway seem not trigger the command )tried with 2 different) and so don't show the UI also everytime i re-open the progrm don't keep the command

If the tool automatically selects XP/Vx/VxAce for you by default so the game is not MV/MZ ....
XP/Vx/VxAce does not require press key to activate.
Anyway, take a look at the video on how to use XP/Vx/VxAce...
