VN - Ren'Py - My Bully Is My Lover [Ch.1 Ep.4 - CV] [NiiChan]

Honestly? This game looks like it's been done by well over 400 people working non-stop, it's a great quality game, with an amazing story behind it!
It's amazing how the pacing goes, it doesn't plummet or rise too quickly, and there's no confusion with the plot, the flashbacks are an important part of it. I just love it, same with LCC!

I normally don't care much for many Honey Select games but this one is special.

Renders 5 Stars: For this gaming being Honey Select the renders are really good.

Story 5 Stars: You can basically choose how to react to everything which is nice, you can choose who to purse and the story isn't original but is still a fresh take on the set up. Each update has me patiently waiting for the next.

Characters 4.5 Stars: so far I am immerse myself into each person's character Arcs, however small they may be at the moment.

Overall I feel this is a title to keep a close eye on and worth the download. Please support this dev so they continue with this project.

This might very well the best game in this genre I have played so far. Plenty of girls, all which are different in personality and looks. I really enjoyed playing this game

Story - Good
Characters - Good

Before we started, I played this novel 2 times and made all the possible choices in the current version of the game (episode 1 and part 2)

So, I'm not a guy who cares much about graphics, so the look of the game didn't bother me, but it might bother you. The characters and their motivations were well established until the version I played and the main point, the novel has nothing innovative but performs well what it proposes to do. Only one thing bothered me, moral choices have little impact on the route, at most they omit a scene, it would be very good if in the next updates choices had more consequences ...

Below are my grades for each category (remembering that 10 is the highest grade):

Graphics: 8;
Character development: 9.5;
History: 9.5;
Plot: 10;
Animations: 8.5;

Verdict: I will follow the next updates, I liked it and maybe you who are reading it can give it a try too.

I'm not usually one to complain about these kind of games but seriously... A few comments regarding the update:

• too much exposition. Every character is literally explaining every singe action they do and they tend to be long-winded. Yes VNs are technically text based but don't feel like you have to justify the characters actions. Let the player make their own interpretations.
• irrelevant choices. Currently the only choices in the game are whether you would want to gain points with the character your talking to or not. Basically just a "Do it or don't do it". If there aren't any definite consequences, it's better not to have the choice. There should be a positive or negative impact either with the character your interacting with or someone else.
• Flashbacks. Too many flashbacks. In story writing, if you feel the flashbacks are necessary, then you're better off starting the story from there then do a time skip, not somewhere in between. Flashbacks are best done when your characters already have significant story development. Flashbacks should not be introductions of current characters.

The entire intro sequence where you introduce Sky and the landlady could have been changed to where you met Aine and the rest or better yet a montage of how you met and how they bullied you. The way the story is written, the player has no point of reference to be reluctant in helping Aine or where the distrust comes from. The old adage in movies still applies to visual novels: "Show don't tell". Bottom line, I can predict a lot more flashbacks to come.

*Disclaimer* I am being harsh on the game not because I don't like it but because I see potential in it and that it can improve. Though it doesn't really help that the dev is making two games at the same time.

I haven't played a game by NiiChan before, but I'm definitely a fan of this dev's work now.

Came into the start of the game not expecting a huge amount of content (Episode 1, Part 2), and looking at the tags like harem, incest, and virgin, and the choice of rendering... well, you can't really argue that certain expectations were already there. Boiling it down to these few parameters, there's a lot of these types of games on F95 and other forums.

What NiiChan has done with this stereotype is give it a sprucing up. A new look. A new dynamic. This is, frankly, pretty good stuff. Interesting approach to a harem story and I'm really only through part of the first part of Part 1.

The characters are interesting and have their own backstories, though as you can tell by the title and the first few minutes of playing, they're interwoven. The MC knows these characters, and though the exposition is a little long -- I will get to that shortly -- it does sufficiently tell what has happened in the past.

What helps MBIML push this into a "must watch" game is the story. I won't go into spoilers until later, but it has a good idea so far that, while still in the realm of "this is an adult VN and certain embellishments are expected", puts a simple but deep twist on previous, and less interesting, games.

So, while I think the game is quite strong, especially for a recently released game, it does have one thing I wished it did better: I wish it had revealed the plots around the girls a little slower. I understand the desire to get the idea out there and get your audience entranced and interested (which was well done, by the way), I feel it could have been used for a greater effect.

I could be wrong about this, too. There could be many, many more twists in this game that would throw all this out of the window. Who knows what's going to happen? Only NiiChan.

TL;DR: Very good and promising start. Interesting characters, intriguing and enrapturing story. Renders are good, animation angles and sequences are quite good. Definitely worth a look.

This is just my kind of game. The models are hot and sweet, the MC isn't an asshole, and the plot is intriguing. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all works out.
The models look similar to some of NiiChan's other models, but they aren't stock models you'll find in too many games. Really some very pleasant eye candy.

I usually don’t rate first releases, but I really enjoyed this.

Pros:

• The female characters are all gorgeous.
• The renders are well done
• Some good H content for a new release
• Still early but the characters seem interesting
• Well written
• The MC is decent human being

Cons:

• None so far.

An interesting take of what initially appears to be a revenge story, but instead of a douche MC doing horrible things we have a nice guy MC taking what appears to be the path of forgiveness. I really liked this approach, it was different and refreshing.

I only hope this is a harem game, I’d rather not have to choose between the girls.

Yes, I understand that this is just the intro. So for the few choices you're actually given, they don't matter much. Hopefully that will change. It's almost like the MC is going to be forced into things instead of allowing us, the player, to make choices to impact things. I'll check again with the next update to see if things change.
