VN - Ren'Py - My Bully Is My Lover [Ch.1 Ep.4] [NiiChan]

I think this is one of the few times I've played through consecutive releases of a story based AVN. The second time around experiencing this story, a lot of the things I overlooked are glaring and I have to talk about them. A lot of that is due to the great time between releases. But I am a loud voice in the argument between monthly releases versus good releases. And this is mostly good, don't get me wrong. But this story has a parallel story in the developers other game, and it's ironic considering this takes place well after, or at least later in it's storyline. To a point where, if I recall correctly, Jess isn't even a part of yet? So you can't even know most of the references this story makes because THEY HAVEN'T HAPPENED YET. But I will say two stories this closely related is an interesting idea, but releasing bite-sized pieces of each at the same time doesn't work well. I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass it is. I also wanna say, I started this before getting to the end of ch7 so any changes in thoughts or exposition at certain parts will be in parentheses.

This game starts out with MC, your average, everyday kpop softboi that has no real personality and he just got done having sex with his sister, Sky. You know, normal stuff... Anyway he's a young guy that works at McDanks and is overly proud of it for some reason. Learns his mom is going to rent out unused rooms to some people, and they happened to bully him for a year in high school. He gets really hung up on this fact at the most random times and outside of it being the title of the story, it really doesn't matter. Essentially, Aine, the bully, made his senior year hell because her mom forced her to and he was a chubby funster with no self esteem. He worked out a lot and graduated top of his class but did nothing for no discernable reason. Back to them moving in, Aine, Emma, and Gwen just lost their big source of income and decide to rent rooms to save money. Even though they're all bottomless pits of money. At the end of ch7, it says end of prologue, and that makes the scope of the story absurd. Especially with this story blowing gallons upon gallons of its expositional load on this latest update. To be as reductive as possible: MC's dad killed Aine's father and brother. Aine's mother, Hera, wants to make MC suffer for what his dad did. And suddenly MC is all knowing, cunning and good at martial arts after learning why he was bullied.

The pacing of this story ends up completely disjointed as of the latest update. MC just abruptly changes personalities all the time, it cuts to Lily randomly as she has no place in the story outside of another love interest, and so many story beats or interactions are cheapened by the nudie title card that flashes at the end of, or during a scene. Once again, don't get me wrong, I like this story there's ACTUAL WRITING. What a concept. But I unfortunately feel no connection or way to self-insert into the MC. This is very much HIS story, not mine and I don't mind it, but it's a little weird considering you'd have to play the sister story to get a feel for parts of this one. Who you also have to self-insert into...? I guess onto the love interests.

Gwen's story falls flat, most of it being told by her father, Johnny "Glenn" Bravo. And the idea that her parents marriage fell apart because of the MC getting bullied, a person they've NEVER MET, is ridiculous, and almost even contrived. On top of the fact that I really feel that there is a detail completely lost in translation, a detail I will press on very hard later. Gwen doesn't want MC to beat himself up over her parents divorce, but I still feel like I'm missing a piece of information. Her backstory is "rich girl allowed to do everything, wants to help stop MC getting bullied. But then her mom wants to crack down on rules suddenly when she's 20 years old?" And most of her inner conflict is "Why won't HE ask me out?" She's the first love interest that gets elaborated on and it just doesn't make sense. And even worse, it's cut short by the introduction of the last love interest, Moon, who at the time of writing has maybe 10 lines in this story. (I hadn't gotten to the end of ch7 yet.) MC and Gwen's main connection is they were each other's first sexual partners, and she liked that he tried hard. And reading the timeline, she's two years older than MC and a delinquent, the fact that a 20 year old drunken rule breaker was a weird pure virgin is a little hard to believe. Later on she get a little more personality, "horny semi-cuckquean share bear." Nothing deeper than that though. But the demographic for this is mostly the turbo virgins that can't handle women having a relationship before meeting them. So THAT I guess I can understand...

And Gwen is made to seem even duller when followed by Emma's story. I will say it did provoke a little bit of emotion out out me, but I don't like using her mother's death by cancer as the source of empathy. Like, yeah, cancer sucks but I still feel tragic backstories can exist without cancer or drunk drivers. And it's so much more impactful than all the other love interests combined. Aine? Rich girl that's sad she had to bully someone. Boohoo. Sky? Sister that isn't allowed to have a legit relationship with her brother. So sad. Lily? Dead parents, fought with her best friend. I'm being reductive to the umpteenth degree, but Emma's story is the only one you're ever put through in that much detail. At the time of me writing this. And on top of the cancer, two of the biggest promises made to her are broken during very important developmental years. If ever there's a choice for any of these women it's a no brainer who'd deserve it (which there is as of this update). This also opens up Hera's history too. Between when Emma is 5 and to the current date, Hera suddenly becomes a sociopath obsessed with the fact that MC's dad chose his mother and not Hera? All I can say is there better be a VERY well written fall from grace.(it's okay at best) Because Emma's mom is her servant and she's been shown treating them like actual garbage up to this point. I get a lot can happen in 15 years, but I don't see how she could backtrack like that. And now after reaching chapter 7, Hera's intentions are retconned to be revenge against MC's dad.

Then there's Lily, she gets most of a chapter showing that she ran track. And after introducing her tack team, twice, all you get out of it is she was injured and had a falling out. Why? Who knows, this story like to be cryptic. So not much more to say about her, unfortunately. Next there's Fraeya, Aine's sister. She's a Twitch thot, even though she deliberately says she's not, and laughs a lot. She doesn't get much depth other than her being willing to work hard. And she likes to tease MC. Klara is MC's mom. All we learn is she left an assassin clan and orchestrated a lot of this. And Moon, former child soldier that has no self worth. And characters like to say she talks strange but there's not actually anything weird it's just slight metaphors. Aine gets a little more into why she's never dated. All because it can end in death being in a mafia family. And the whole time we're told that she's super pretty and attractive by everyone, but I guess she's just not my type because I don't feel it. Sky is just a sister in love with her brother, they don't get back to it by the end of this update, so all we know is she knows MC is cheating on everyone. Oh. I forgot, Naomi. She's the 4th wall breaking developer insert that has two scenes and it's boring banal nothings. But, yeah, they don't get as much personalization as Emma, so I can't say much.

Well, if anyone is still reading this, most of that is nit picky, but this is story focused and I like it so I'm critical of it. And if you're going to read this story, I'd hope someone else notices a lot of these things. I feel a lot of the day to day stuff could have been compressed, and so far this story has taken place over no more than a week or two. That is insane escalation. But it's very much worth a read. And my last complaint, is there needs to be an editor/proofreader to help with the English. I will say it's written by someone that learned the language very well. And there are decent portions of this I don't even notice it. But there are times when it's very stiff and doesn't read well, which takes me out of what I'm reading hard. This is a lot better than most, but IF YOU ARE MARKETING ANYTHING IN ANY LANGUAGE IT NEEDS TO BE LOCALIZED AND EDITED BY A NATIVE SPEAKER. Especially if you are selling a product.

TLDR The idle banter goes on really long, the title cards are a little distracting, and there's a big exposition dump at the end. But the story is good and there's good sexy content. The renders are good and there's a broad range of themes explored, I'm scared to say I'm excited to see what will become of this.

    Review for Ep. 7b

What I thought was going to be a cozy harem game about living with your bully (and friends) turned out to be a lot more. I won't get into spoilers, but there's a deeper game here than what I first gave it credit for.

I think what really shines in My Bully Is My Lover are the characters. Personality and depth exist here, way more than the average visual novel, which really is a breath of fresh air. Everyone stands out and are compelling in their own ways. Dialogue is usually pretty good, and the character models are great and feel unique.

There's also a larger focus on writing which is always a plus in my book. Detailed pasts with some well constructed flashbacks, conflict, mystery, and perhaps a hint of paranormal as well? There's a lot of elements that keep the game interesting so far.

I think the one awkward piece of the puzzle for me is the MC. First, in like half of the renders with him, it looks like he has the face of a creepy middle aged man with a teenagers body. I think it's because of the lighting? But it stood out rather frequently. Beyond that, I just don't quite connect with him I suppose. He's not a chore to play as or anything but his dialogue feels awkward sometimes. A few parts I cringed at, and a few felt like his character completely changed. But beyond that it's fine.

I'll say I did not play the other AVN that apparently has connections to this one, but It's sort of weird to me that we have this whole separate harem from the MC in the other game involved with the MC in this game? A couple girls who I thought were love interests ended up not being so because of that which sucked. From my understanding this isn't like a part two of the first game, so it's a little confusing. I feel like it could have been handled better, but maybe that's because of my ignorance regarding the other game.

With the prologue having now ended and the sort of true story being reveled, I'm interested but a bit hesitant. I like the premise, but I can't help but feel the MC doesn't really fit the "role" he now finds himself in, and I feel everything was given to him a bit too easily. I think the game is good, but I also need to see where development takes this at the end of the day.

I was annoyed the whole time while playing this game because of the cringy writing. Give the MC a little personality and masculinity, will you? We are basically playing the role of an idiot. Every single character in the game is way more interesting and has more personality than MC. It feels like he is just filling the need of some male character who needs to fuck the girls. By the way, he is the default male model in HS2 and I was going to use it for a sissy character in my game that I'm not able to progress making it because I'm so lazy.

I want to say the dev is good with creating a scenario, girls are awesome, and storytelling is good, but the dialogues are driving me insane. Please stop justifying your decision that this is not a revenge game. We get it. We don't expect him to kill whoever wronged him. But at least please stop giving crappy life lessons, and give us a little satisfaction via the dialogues. Yeah, if you are THIS forgiving, then that makes you an idiot, not a kind person. (Seriously guys, if someone did something to you and you think they are wrong, then go and fuck them.)

And there is lewd content issue. It's taking forever to see some content, and when you finally see them, they are way too short and dull. The pics between the scenes are way more interesting than sex scenes. Literally. I mean, give them a little description from the characters' perspective.

Emma is the only reason why I'm playing the game. What best describes this game is "a true wasted potential".

Really enjoyed my play-through up to current(5/22)
graphics are pretty high quality, characters have enough background to invest in them. Plot dev really ramps up quickly so i do hope there us still lots of content to come versus what is typical for a plot similar to this one.
looking forward to whats to come.
    thanks for the content!

Wow, I gotta say it's one of the best VN game I've ever played so far, it may not be impactful since the story itself was simple at the beginning, and it may not be quite daring like building some harem quests or something like that, in fact it was a slow pace story that it keeps you in the heart, it gives myself a hope again to move forward again and again apart the well-found what with this community is, but I say it's highly recommended to you guys to play it

An amazing game, albeit a bit short.

There are no sex scenes in the game and you'll finish it in about 2-5 minutes, depending how fast you're reading.

It's rare occurrence to see a game have such a satisfying ending so quickly. I'd love to see MC develop his feeling towards his sister, but that will probably be in the sequel.

P.S. Probably stupid to even mention, but don't take life advices from this game (or, well, any, but especially this one). Bullying is bullying, mental or physical, and even if MC was too stupid to realize it or avoid it, he definitely was bullied.
And more importantly, just because someone else was bullied worse, does not lessen the impact of bullying on person that was "bullied less".

Just slam those doors and be done with it. Perfect ending. 10/10

EDIT: And now we're onto mafia, murders, assassins etc.

I don't know which is cuter: the story or the girls.

Obviously there is the mystery/crime/supernatural?? element underlying things, but the actual interactions between the MC and potential LIs is adorable even as it can be heart wrenching.

I am glad the harem tag is there, not just for sexy reasons, but because even as of Ep. 6 there are multiple girls that I don't want to let down by choosing someone else.

Innocent hearts, lustful minds, sexy bodies. Not a bad combination.

This story has potentially interesting character arcs,is the thing i like the most about the game. What i dislike is whats next:

1 short line of dialogue followed by an entire paragraph of inner thought exposition which is a recipee for draggy dialogue. Every time one of those big chunks of inner thought exposition show up, i roll my eyes, then my head and then make a big loud sigh, and sometimes I facepalm myself.
The Mc repeats too many times the revenge thing as if he forgot he already told me about and also the Aine bitch thing.

The Mc talks too much Its imposible to have character development for other characters if only one is doing all the talking.
This game has a serious issue with the writing, its kind of unbearable for many moments.

AS for the game, I dont like reward images, its fanservice and games that do that often lack in the actual meaningful content. This makes sense with what i just told. A lot of inner thought and MC talking means less character development, and less actual lewds, so it has to offer them somehow cause its too much reading for nothing.

There are 2 sex scenes in the past with 2 different characters, and those are the girls that have content. The 2 of them have their first sex scene as a flashback.

After fast skipping from episode 3 to 6, I can say that there are big parts of the game with nothing happening. A lot of story and flashbacks but nothihng going on to build up relationships at a sexual level. Of course they can go straight to sex without even a first kiss and be done with it, but there is not much sexual building going on besides some weird moments.

    Sumarize:

A lot of text of the exposition kind that you can tell they are explaining things.
    Too much inner dialogue.
Fanservice reward pics, but only 2 of the 8 girls in the gallery have scenes.
The Female protagonist that gives the title to the game has 0 scenes.
Sex scenes rely on default animations too much, no interesting angles or anything you haven already seen.

The game should be called "My bully is the girl I give head pats to". Wait until 2045 and pray for writing to be fixed. Too much unfulfilled potential so far.

So going to start with the negatives first:
    - The world itself feels too small due to too many characters being connected. It's a very minor issue but it does feel a bit awkward when 90% of the characters either have a history with the MC or are very involved with taking on the story's main antagonist.
    - The one major issue I have is that Lily's backstory is a huge info dump where the major pay off for it seems to be later on. I ended up speeding through a lot of it and feel I would've been more willing to sit through it if it had some build up leading into it or something of the like.
    - There is no special Sky scene for closing the door at the beginning and having a "happy ending" with her, I feel like it would've been hilarious to stick a scene in here and a small number of people be confused because they assume that it's just a bad ending when there's actually a scene attached to it. -10/10 wouldn't play again kekw

Now for the things that I like:
    - While they're very simple pictures and you're not the only person that does them, I do like the unlockable pics that you get by just playing the game as it at least gives us something for early on in the game while building our way towards the actual scenes that we want to see.
    - This may be because I have a weakness for the best friend trope but I am really loving Emma's story. I think it was paced well and when it comes to the backstory, while she is the focus, it helps A LOT that it gives insight to other characters.

Things that I hope to see in the future:
    - While I love both characters, I really hope to see Aine and Emma put in work towards their stories alongside the MC. While Aine's explanation of being under her mom's thumb has earned her the MC's forgiveness, I think that she still needs to prove with her actions that she deserves the MC's love. For both Emma and Aine, I want to see them put in effort alongside the MC in order to get themselves away from Hera.

A relationship goes both ways so while it's important that we as the MC put in effort to get the girls and reach the good ending, I think the girl characters should be putting in work within the story as well. I already feel that Gwen and Sky are already doing this, and now that we have gotten most of the necessary backstory that we need for Emma and Aine, I would like to see that from them too.

I definitely enjoyed the game a lot though and very much look forward to future updates for it.

So... I decided to try this game despite not liking HS2 games because of the rating. I should have checked the reviews of the more trusted members of this website. I will be pointing out the pros and cons of this game.
    PROS:
    - Good graphics and image quality
    NEUTRAL:
    - Renders were okay at best
    - H-scenes are made mostly default HS animations
    CONS:
    - Main plot (total cringefest)
    - Stories
(In my opinion, this game has some of the stupidest and most illogical stories of all time. For example, there is a scene during the start where a customer complains about finding a cockroach in the burger. Seriously? Who in the hell does that. But anyway let's believe he did that. Now the girl whom he did complain to is so stupid that she does not know how to ask for proof? And MC has to step in for asking for the proof? The story is made with illogical theories like this.)
    - Lack of character development
    - Personality (All the characters act like 12-year-old kids)
    - Characters stand like dolls during conversations
    - The writing is very plain.
    Personal opinion:
I have played many VN's and I like wholesomeness. But there is a difference between wholesomeness and stupidity. In most of the cases, I avoid some of the cons that I have mentioned above. But saying that this game is overrated would be a big understatement.

Really great game! Good story and some really well made lewd content as well!
Choice feel impactful despite the fact that it is a VN. The dialogue is very well written and softhearted in a nice!
Definitely one of those feel good kinda games that just so happens to also have some really nice quality lewd material as well!

Review as of Episode 6 (some spoilers)

Just discovered MBIML and read through episode 6. It has shot up straight into my top 5 list, with episode 5 being the really high point. I haven't seen/read the anime/manga that inspired this, so I'm not jaded on any of the character arcs. This VN comes across as a sweet romance story rather than anything seriously revenge or hardcore, and I like it for that.

The music is great, character models and art assets are nice as well. The writing seems to be gramatically fine most of the time, except for some missteps occasionally, but nothing too immersion breaking.

This VN has one of the few MCs that I actually enjoy in this kind of game. He comes across as a relatively mature, kind-hearted guy. His reactions and thoughts till now seem appropriately normal and not too pervy or manipulative, which is very fitting with the wholesome theme of the VN. The only knock I have on him is that he tends to play the sympathy card too much by whining about his supposed problems. As far as I can see, his only "problems" in life are having multiple potential LIs, past bullying that he has apparently managed to get over in a very mature manner, and working at a burger shack which he seems to actually love. He also carries guilt from abandoning Emy, but that is not a new issue in his life.

I know that this is a harem game, but I wouldn't mind a satisying non-harem ending that allows MC to fulfil his promise to Emy. They both deserve that happiness. I also really like Gwen though (apart from the smoking); she was the one to form a sort of real caring connection with MC when he was at the lowest point in his life.

Oh and I have no idea what that tedious Track and Field documentary sequence was doing in episode 6; but at this point, having seen the author's work, I trust him to provide a satisfying payoff for that as well.

    Review made for Episode 6

(A small warning to anyone writing a review on this site, if you accidentally click outside the rating box, it will close it and delete your entire review with no warning. I am writing most of this twice. Don't do what I do.)

Alrighty. I've never written a review on this site before, so bear with me. I want to start by saying that there's an inherent amount of respect that goes out to anyone with the fortitude and skill to create any sort of game, being able to push through your own potential insecurities as a writer and maintaining a creative vision through to a finished product. No matter what else I say, that is commendable in its own right.

Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about this game in particular and how it has compelled me to write my first ever review (twice). It comes down to two basic aspects: concept and execution.

The concept: The story of an everyman who has been put in a situation where he must now cohabitate with his high-school bully/bullies, confront their past differences, and establish a form of mutual respect that blossoms into love. Absolutely fantastic concept with a lot of room for interpretation, great job. To look at it in most basic terms, it's clear why it would work and be compelling. It's well known that a lot of bullies pick on people due to something going on in their own lives, leading to them feeling the need to exert control over others. Bullying is something that can take many forms depending on the dynamic between the two people, whether it be physical, social, emotional, etc...there's a lot to do here. I could go on, but I'm pretty sure I've laid out enough breadcrumbs for you to be able to form your own trail.

Let's explore execution. What does "My Bully Is My Lover" do with this concept? For starters, we join our MC years after high school. He's now an adult with a very basic job moving through life in a pretty typical way (aside from an incestuous relationship with his sister, but it's a porn game, fuck it, who cares). He's moved past all of the trauma of his high school where he was bullied for being fat and used the trauma as motivation to get in shape and avoid the sort of abuse he suffered from. He's already progressed through an obsessively vengeful stage of planning revenge on his bullies to simply wanting to move on with his life. Fully rehabilitated, a great choice. Suddenly, he finds out that his mother is leaving the house and also renting out the two empty rooms to some tenants who will be arriving soon. Ding dong! It's his bullies, surprise! He (of course) remembers them but it appears as though the bullies do not remember him. Cue an interestingly tense situation where he doesn't quite know how to broach the subject (or if he even should) as he gets to know how they are now. He clearly sees that they're not acting the same as they were back then. Is it because they've changed? Is it because he's not fat and ugly? Time will tell!

Well, it's really not a lot of time and it's quite possibly the least interesting way this could have gone. What was initially a tightly-knit story of a plausibly relatable (though clearly fantastical) situation is somehow blown into this absolutely wild tale involving some illuminati bullcrap, spies, parents manipulating their children for "reasons".... To sum it all up, Bully Prime's mom is behind all of it because she's extremely petty and basically ordered Bully Prime to be incomprehensibly mean. This means that every bully is actually just a pawn, and all of them felt really bad the whole time but they just absolutely had to be bullies because the mom is just that powerful! We quickly learn that one of the "bullies" consensually fucked our MC basically the first time the two of them were alone, another was in love with him since she was old enough to form sentences and Bully Prime was just sad about the whole thing too. Additionally, this entire situation was established with the help of one of one of the bullies contacting MC's mom with the entire plot being set up so that Bully Prime would fall in love with MC and avoid an arranged marriage.

The main issue with this story as a whole is the writer doesn't seem to comprehend that less is more. One entire chapter is dedicated to backstory on one of the "bullies" who the writer wants to heavily imply is autistic without outright declaring it. As much as I tend to like characters like this, we spend a ridiculous amount of time establishing her backstory, her tragic early life and even toss in an attempt to humanize the completely irredeemable main villain of the story. If you're going to hit predictable story beats, rather than focus on telling us the entire story in a way that feels "cinematic", focus on what's necessary to convey without breaking the flow of the actual story. The main way that jumps to mind as to how you'd want to employ a chapter-long flashback in the way the author has is if it's going to reveal a lot of critical information that dramatically transforms the story in some way, making me see characters or past events in a new light. For the chapter in question, it more or less establishes that this character who seemed possibly autistic is absolutely autistic, and there was a tragedy they experienced when growing up. We already knew about how they felt about our MC and seeing them meet Bully Prime doesn't actually effect how the two's relationship is viewed by the reader. There's no reason to go back and retell me information you already did a great job of passing on to me.

Bottom line is this: this story would've done much better if it didn't shoot for the moon. I found myself skipping a good amount of the grand scheme bits of the story and paying attention to the close interpersonal sections where characters interacted with and played off each other. Of course, this sort of thing comes down to what the author wanted to make, and if they wanted to make a story that swaps between a grand stakes high society plot and a couple of young adults head patting and fucking in a house, that's their vision. If it's what keeps them invested in making it, they should make what they want.

As it stands, the primary value in this to me is the solid art and the occasional fuck. It's good enough in the art department that I'll probably keep checking in on it. I could probably go on a bit more, but writing this twice has sucked just about all of the wind out of my sails at the moment. Best of luck.

This is just a great game over all. Even though it isn't done, I feel confident in going ahead a rating it now. The art is great. The lewd scenes are great. The ladies in this are great, with depth of character and each girl feels unique and worth while. Each girl in this could easily beat out the best girl of most other game, which is why I'm glad this is a harem game. It has strong emotional pulls, but never feels manipulative. I may update my review later if anything else comes up but even as it stands it is well worth your time.

Now before we start, I need to make some things clear. I enjoy good plot as any other guy, and I also absolutely don't mind slowburners. If porn game takes time to develop characters and story and then later on it pays off, that's absolutely great and I would never complain about it just because characters don't fuck with each other every five seconds. With that being said, I want to state that reading this VN is just pure pain. This is just bad writing, slog that you have to endure. I can't even point out what's worst: basic ass cliches from "How to write drama for dummies", needles wordiness and characters that don't talk like real people, laughable attempts at squeezing tears, pointless flashbacks that rips apart narrative and makes it even harder to follow the story (Pro tip: if you don't know how to properly use flashbacks in your story - don't), or just general weakness of this whole idea for a story, or the amount of nonsense. I think author should move on from writing porn games to writing pulp fiction for female demography, in this field he (or, I suspect, she, but I can't be sure) will find much greater success, or at least, will be doing what he is best capable of.

All the things I said above makes it even more painful to acknowledge that from a technical point of view this VN at the very least great. I'm a fan of Honey Select-based games and if this is not a peak performance, it's very close to it. Honestly, this is the only reason why I'm still here, at episode 6. Characters themselves looks... korean, like K-POP stars, but I think that was the point and I absolutely don't mind. Everything - textures, models, design, surroundings, camera angles, lightning, I can only applause. Not to mention a lot of included music, although I would call a choice of tracks for some moments... questionable at best, but that problem stems from the same lack of taste that leads to an awful writing, so it's not a technical issue. All of this high quality production wasted on such mediocre story, what a shame!
3 stars, and I still hoping there will be more action in the future.

    P.S.
There is a scene, that I think perfectly represents this game. MC banging one of the girls in his room, and then we see other girl in the next room hearing moans through the walls. When she realizes what is going on, we read her thoughts about how she's heartbroken and then then suddenly DRAMATIC pop music starts swell and we get back to the dicking. While MC dick realistically spreads apart vagina (95% of the games on this site don't have animations like this), we continuing to listen this male voice whining something about break up, accompanied by acoustic guitar and piano. Honestly, I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud.

I'm not going to lie the last two updates brought my interest for this story up so much. Before I was interested but it reminded me a lot of masumane-kun no revenge even though there were some original aspects in there which did pique my interest. However last update being just a stand alone backstory episode but was so interesting it made a character that I had little interest in to one of my favorites. Then with this episode just adding onto it with giving more backstory for another character as well as giving a look into what's going on currently behind the scenes during the present time. (Trying not to outwards spoil) The only thing that sucks about the behind the scenes stuff this episode (6) is the main character isn't a part of it cause the whole premise of it is so intriguing but the characters that are apart of it I haven't built that connection with to be fully invested in their stories quite yet. From a story percpective it makes sense why the MC isn't a part of it but it would've been cool if another game that premise was done with a MC being a part of it. I think some things to note from this episode too is the creator has improved on comedy in the game as well as the dialogue being funner a bit. Also the Eternum cameo in this episode was amazing. If you had played this game previously but only in the earlier updates or haven't at all I think I can safely say this is one of those games that has shown it's going to be a fun ride. I can now fully get behind giving it a 5 star rating. I wish the developer all the luck with future updates and wanted to do this review to let them know they're doing a great job, truly enjoying what they're putting out. Keep it up!

Well written, way more than LCC. I'm enjoying the unfolding mystery in the background. Characters well written and interesting. Bit of a slow burn in places. I'm having a hard time lining up the timelines of the two games of the shared universe, I suggest you don't attempt to.

Played this finally. Waited long enough and not disappointed at all. I liked the character development, each one of them are distinct yet attractive in their own way. Gwen the best girl in here closely followed by Emma. Animations are good too.
It's a drama involving unfortunate girls caught up in the politics of few egomaniacs, did something they shouldn't have and also not by choice, each one of them have their own little battles to fight.
Main character, a perfect persona for the story. He has that forgiving, live and let live kinda personality. I was sceptical of his traits at the start but playing through few episodes i say he's the way he should be, that personality not only shaped his life according to the way he wanted but also need of the hour to those girls who are in dire state, I mean why not, end of the day everyone deserves a second chance.

Short Version: The game is mediocre at best: not good, not bad, but somewhere in the middle, and it's far from memorable

    The Good

    - The overall graphic is above the average
    - A few cute scenes between characters are quite sweet and wholesome

    The Mediocre

    - Most of the characters' personalities are cliché and not the pleasant kind of cliché, it's like watching an anime who tries to distinguish from the others...only to fail by a narrow margin
    - The cheap fan-service like having cameos of characters from games that are far more enjoyable than this one, everytime i saw them i think "I'd rather play those games instead of this boring thing" but the main thing is that they're not relevant to the plot and they're a waste of time on screen.

    The Bad

    - The prologue makes us believe that MC is someone who actually was bullied and experienced hell, when in episode 6 MC actually admits that it wasn't that bad! (i would pay to be bullied like he did, some initial humiliation and then had sex with a girl, and simply hanging out with them doing something that i consider a chore or a favour between friends).
    - How should i say it? The game is carpet-bombed by reveals and plot twists, which would be fine if we had the time to digest them, but instead we start with three bullies basically self-inviting themselves at MC's house, to bloody ninjas, mafia and martial arts in like 2 chapters, and while playing i felt force-fed while i'm already full, a slower pace would have helped me to gradually accept everything.
    - The very bad side of the characters: We go from three bullies, presented and introduced them from MC as "irredeemable" (which i think i said it) but somehow every character in this game/series has a sad backstory: "(imitating Oprah's voice)You get a sad backstory! And you get a sad backstory! Everyone get a sad backstory!"; It's a thing, somehow everyone is a victim of someone or had a major trauma that compels them to either do something bad or forcing someone to do the bad thing, and this whole "i've a sad backstory" is used as a way to make the characters somewhat forgivable, not to mention how somehow the planets and stars aligned so that everyone meet in similar circumstances(same goes for LCC) like it's some secret plan made by the Illuminati.

    The Conclusion

Keep in mind that i've a sad past of people stealing my candies when i was 5 so if you like the game and hate my opinion, you MUST forgive me. The lack of sugar as a child may have made me too salty.

Jokes aside: The game had potential, but it pushes every storyline too soon and too fast, without allowing the readers to catch a breath, give enough time and the dev may bring in Aliens, or Shu as a trap-romance(which i approve btw, he far more pleasant than most of the girls) or MC joining a black cop from Los Angeles and fighting the Triad(reference to Rush Hour 3 XD). Then we have the clichés, from the overuse of this secret mafia/criminal society, to martial arts, to the classic "The girls loved MC since the second they met him(looking at you Emma)", we have all kinds of cliché, from action-animes, to romance and slice of life animes...if only these clichés were microdosed, we wouldn't have such a boring story filled with boring characters...

The final grade of this game is: The game is barely average plot-wise, and i'm shocked that people call it a masterpiece when actual masterpieces are out there waiting to be played. In the end is the graphic that carries the game, convince Niichan to be just a designer and to work under a good writer, and we'll have a masterpiece soon XD
